  2. I think the single biggest issue with softball as a whole that its consistantly inconsistant. There are too many different assoiciatons and each one has there own quirky rules. It keeps everybody confussed, parents, players, coaches and officials. As for the pitching distance I agree that 43' for 16U & up is good not only for the girls but the sport as a whole. All this reminds me of when the 12U went from 35' to 40' most everybody thought is was good and adjusted rather quickly. High school is a little different because you can have a pretty good spread in ages especially in the smaller schools. I have talked to several of the teams from out west and for the most part the elite players don't play high school ball for these same reasons. I think the numbers in this area are getting big enough to look at that as an option.
  3. I don't think that TSSAA will pass it until NHFS does and NHFS did not make it one of their rule changes for 2009. The big arguement is in the smaller schools where they have only a freshman pitcher and making her throw from 43'. I can't see TSSAA making that change
  4. I have only been to one tournament where the fields were maintained and lined after each game and that tournament lasted a week. Just imagine how much more money your team and family would have spent for a whole week instead of 3 days. As for the umpires I'm assuming that your are refering to the young ladies that were there. For your information those ladies are 19 or 20 years old and have played fastpitch since they were very young and know the game well. As for the scorekeepers they were there to keep the official score book. Scoreboard were optional. There aren't many tournaments you go to that even have either. As for the once in a life time event, was this your one and only state tournament?
