Livingston Academy's 1st home game (yes I did say "home game") will be next Tuesday night against York. After logging some 1900 miles on the road, the Cats and their fan faithful will get to enjoy the comforts of home for the first time this season. Nice job last night against the Cavaliers. We had some shakey moments, but were able to play through it and bounce back. GO H-O-G-E-Y-E !

Rule 2.00 (Infield Fly) Comment: On the infield fly rule the umpire is to rule whether the ball could ordinarily have been handled by an infielder??”not by some arbitrary limitation such as the grass, or the base lines. The umpire must rule also that a ball is an infield fly, even if handled by an outfielder, if, in the umpire??™s judgment, the ball could have been as easily handled by an infielder. The infield fly is in no sense to be considered an appeal play. The umpire??™s judgment must govern, and the decision should be made immediately.
When an infield fly rule is called, runners may advance at their own risk.
Note: Infield Fly only applies on fair balls. If the ball is dropped in foul territory, then it's just a foul ball.

Had an umpire last season to make this call:runners on 1st and 2nd - 1 out batter pops up to 3rd in the infield grass runners take off (not paying attention to the call ) then call comes INFIELD FLY "DEAD BALL"BATTER OUT 3rd baseman misses the ball ball hits his foot and rolls about 10 ft. from him 1 run scores other is on third Umpire sticks with the call and makes the runners return to 1st and 2nd despite the arguement that followed!!

Well...Had Martin Westview won their semi-final game and set up the 5th meeting between the Lady Chargers and Lady Pioneers, I was going to predict a big win by Gibson County....They had beaten the Lady Chargers by an average of 28 ppg in two championship game situations after they had beaten them by four points in two games during the regular season after all....
Livingston Acd didn't blow out Westview and didn't do anything to really change my mind about either team challenging the Lady Pioneers...
GC has hit their stride during the tournament season and are just playing real well right now....

You wouldn't be just a little biased would you chargerettefan !!! To say that McMinn Central would beat LA 9 out of 10 sounds like sour grapes to me. My can't you just face the fact for whatever reason that LA girls was the better team this year or last night and let it go. Don't try and tarnish the year that your team had by making excuses. Give our girls just a little respect b/c they work harder or as hard as any team in the state. We're just like you we take our sports serious too.

Please don't come on this board underhandedly slapping our girls!!! Your post at best is a nice way of saying you are a sore loser. Beat LA 9 out of 10 times??? Really? I doubt that very seriously. I am sure it would be a great match up 10 times but 9 out of 10 is cocky, arrogant, and closed minded to fact that LA is a good team, playing their best ball at the right time. Isn't that what this time of the year is about? I have been told that Central was playing some of their best ball right now, you must have been or you could not have beaten Upperman. Central girls gave a great effort, had the momentum at the half and had it half way thru the 3rd quarter. A 9 point lead, at the time was the largest lead for either team. Let's not hear about a daze. And yes we played the same Central team that went 34-0, you just happened to play a quality team that yes you are "trying not to put down" to make yourself feel better about losing and I am sure LA fans, me as i post, do not appreciate it. LA girls just did not lay down after being down to the undefeated McMinn Central Chargerettes, they wanted to further their season and did what hey had to do win the game. Central had the same oppputunity that LA had in this game and LA didn't do anything out of the norm. They didn't wear capes, use the "force", or use magic. They showed to play ball and won fair and square and the more I post the more I resent your remarks about our team.
I also resent the remark about LA not being state tourney caliber. That is not a very smart comment. 7-AA sends quality teams year in and year out to the state and this year is no different. You should know that. LA did not back into the tourney. Because of an injury or two and a brutal schedule (which we have not whined about) we had to play the best to get to this point. We just happen to be relatively healthy and our schedule is paying off. We may not win another game, but it will not be because we are not a state caliber team. We have had nothing for your team but respect, you chargerettefan certainly seem to have none for ours.

Now just take a minute and think about a little history of the games between LA and McMinn Central..............out of 4 games between these 2 teams under Coach Smith's tenure, LA is 3 out of 4. It is always an honor to play McMinn Central because that means the next level has been reached and the team that wins advances.
I really like the picture on your last post . Sure would look good with this years model sitting beside it.

I think you guys can talk about the game all you want. Was not there but listened to it on the radio. Was suprised a little after seeing McMinn Central play. But you can never underestimate your opponent. But I do have one suggestion. Upperman is not playing so can you just talk about each other and leave them out of it. They had a great season and many of their players still have a great future with basketball. Its over and move on!!

Congrats to LA you played a great game and desreved the win but to settled the argument with you and upperman the best team in the state didnt show up last night. I would put McMinn Central up against LA 10 times and Central would win at least 9 times and by 10 or more points, i however would not want to play upperman again they are a very good team. But as i said congrats to you, but you didnt play the central team that was 34-0 .I dont know who that team was. I feel sorry for our girls that the wheels had to fall off at this point and dont understand what they where thinking or not thinking but ( and I'm not putting LA down) they should have been able to beat LA easily I dont know how upperman lost to LA. LA didnt look like a state tourn caliber team to me ,sorry. Upperman was a better team than LA by far and Im pretty sure the Central was also. Makes me wonder if Marshal Co. was put out on a fluke also. I seen four AA teams play yesterday and not one of them look state tourn. worthy.
I also dont wont to hear people blaming Coach Morgan, for years they want to say he starts changing stuff at this level and doesnt let the girls play there game. Well he stuck with the same game plan kept running in fresh legs and let the girls play but they blew it.
Best team in state The 34-0 Mcminn Central Chargerettes, LA you havent seen them and wont, be thankful its not a best two out of three. but then again so are we cause we may have not gotten by Upperman had it been.

Monterey: LA got behind early, pitching was off at the start, walked 3 hit 1 ended up giving up 4 runs in the 1st. Final 7 to 3 Monterey.
White Co: Offenseively - I think we had only 4 hits. We had a bunch of infield dribblers that were outs at first, NO WALKS. White Co pitcher was not that good, we just made him look good. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
Defensively: Pitching better for the first 3 innings then fell off fast! Errors were made some bad throws then White Co with some timely hits put 7 runs on the board. Final 7 to 1 White Co.

No need to worry about #7 arm injury is not serious he will be in the lineup and back on the mound within a couple of weeks. Young players will need to step up and take advantage of the playing opportunity. The season begins Monday 3-9 @ home against Monterey. Let's support this team.

Wanteddeadoralive.......someone else pointed it out earlier in this thread and I think they're right. TROMO must be from Livingston. Jealousy is keeping him/her up really late or getting him/her up really early. These last two posts were before 4 this morning. It's probably not the color of the jersey blinding TROMO..... its jealousy. He keeps posting that he doesn't want LA to make it back to the state tournament and has given enough clues that its obvious this person is from Livingston. Imagine being that eat up with jealousy, envy, whatever, that instead of taking in a good movie /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" /> last night or possibly having a date /ohmy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":o" border="0" alt="ohmy.gif" /> that TROMO wasted money coming to watch another LA win. Keeps pouring money into the LA program hoping to see a loss.
Hey TROMO. You might get some satisfaction out of knowing that LA has already lost twice this year. Dwell on that. You're right. Dunn pushes off sometimes, like most guards do. Tell me. Will you attend TTU games just hoping to see Dunn lose there too? I'm sure you're glad he's got a full scholarship there. Or will you find yourself torn between TTU and LA where Coach Melton has won about 80% of his games. What will you do? And it probably makes you feel better knowing that LA didn't win the state tourney last year. They only made it to the state tournament and finished 30-5. No matter what you say, these kids will always be proud of their accomplishments whether or not your predictions pan out. They are one of the most, if not the most successful groups that have ever played at LA. Nothing you say will change that. You arent' bothering them, your making yourself miserable. And if these kids are what they seem you just motivate them with your insecurities /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> . Do yourself a favor and move on. Pick up a hobby. Learn a trade. Here are some things you might try to help you forget your infatuation with LA boys basketball: basket weaving, poetry, can collecting, stamp collecting, volunteering with the Red Cross, etc. There's an array of activities you could do. Try writing your thoughts in a journal. I'm having a blast, but probably giving you more attention than you deserve. But it does tick me off that these kids and coach Melton work so hard and achieve so much and someone like you has to try to bring them down. Go LA! You deserve everything you've achieved and so much more. Some people are always gonna be miserable and misery loves company.

with four seniors sounds like there will be some juniors having to step up to the plate... what about there rotation what can you guys tell me about that... any good arms to look forward to watching?
4 seniors do return, however one has an injured elbow and may have to have surgery. If so he may be out for the season(hopefully not). There are some young talent on the squad if they will step up and be big it will make a difference. There are some capeable of making a difference! First game Mon March 9th at home against Montery. GO CATS!!!!

That wasn't the worst! When he was reading the TSSAA rules of the game with 1:30 left in the game with LA inbounding the ball and moving toward the basket. Now that was very unprofessional!
