  1. Please quit making my old school look like stupid. West is not going to have a good season this year for three reasons. 1. They play in the hardest region in the state. 2. The coaching is absolutely poor, They had a stacked team last year and yet didn't utilize all of their athletic abilities. Furthermore they only have like 3 coaches coming back since the majority moved on or retired. 3. They don't have enough talent. The defense is going to be poor in every aspect of the game except maybe linebacker. So your statement about west being best is immature and really unnecessary. Plus your banter between other schools just makes you and West look even worse.

  2. Big game for both teams obviously. The majority of these kids all know eachother which will most likely make this a very heated and passionate game. In fact Catholic's Dorian Cozart and West's Ivan Freeman and Tanner Thompson all were running backs on the same Super Midget team not to mention a good number of other current players. Should be fun! :roflol:

  3. I can help you with Bearden's team. Obviously their best player is Devrin Young, most teams have keyed on him and has helped slow down they gaudy numbers he had last year. Also in the backfield they have Peyton Landers who is a good hard nosed down hill runner who can get the tough yards. Their QB is undersized but has a decent arm and feet, however if he is pressured he will make mistakes. Their receivers aren't very good. Defense has saved this team this year pretty much. Goltry, Wilker and Williamson are their key players back there. Maryville should roll if they can take advantage of Cisco playing safety (He overruns plays and misses tackles ALOT) and 34 who is not as good a corner as Stephens or Young.

That's what I have seen not a Bearden fan though.

  4. I wouldn't look into the rankings much. This is a Bearden team that has played the easiest schedule in the district so far. Walker Valley, Jeff Co, LC, WB, and Rhea County. None of these teams have the athletes that Maryville has. I'd look for Buddy Jones to have a big game and also Horne.

  5. This game was another example of the fact that East Tennessee is over-rated. Every year some team (like Farragut, Sullivan South, and whoever else ya'll have up there) comes down to Middle TN and understands why you would never make it down in this world. There is a reason that we never see a West or East TN team playing in state, and it because the road goes through Williamson & Rutherford County. That is why state will always be comprised of Brentwood, Franklin, Oakland, Smryna, Riverdale, and Independence.

Ya cause Lord knows Maryville, Alcoa, Fulton, and Catholic have won state recently. What are you thinking?!?!

  6. My understanding is that whoever has the best district standing out of Catholic, LC, and West makes it correct? So if West wins out against WB, LC, Catholic and Bearden and Catholic loses to Maryville or Bearden plus West then the two teams would have identical district records with the head to head being the tie-breaker.

PS: If West had an offense they would be one of the best teams around cause man is there defense good.

  7. Maybe against a weak West team, FHS can work in the Van Dyne wrinkle. Maybe not politically correct, but would it be the "VD Gun"?

As a West fan I sure hope the Admirals have this attitude going into the game. West is not weak. They came off an emotionally draining week with the Jake Logue situation and the HVA game and walked into a hornets nest with an 0-1 Maryville. They played uninspired in the first half but in the second half they ended up tying Maryville. I'm not saying West will win, but if Farragut is thinking like that they may be in for a wake up call.

  8. Zak Tait is able to play because his knee injury was so serious that he was forced to miss a good amount of school and thus pretty much put him in a position that he would need to re-take senior year. At last that's how I understood it. Also Zak is very young for being a "freshmen" in college I believe he is still 18.

  9. Ya and if you put Fulton in just on pass plays it becomes a noticeable trend which teams will pick up on. And I dunno if you saw spring scrimmages but Baylosis was our biggest passing threat he wasn't dropping anything then trust me on this one he'll be fine. Plus when Gyebison gets healthy then we will have Fulton, Baylosis, and Gyb in our 3 WR sets. That's pretty tough to stop if they can catch the ball.
