  1. Not a Farragut fan here, but I have seen both teams. Both have offensive weapons and solid defense. The difference to me is the level of play that Farragut can rise to, they have number of players that will be D-1 scholarship players. Now I must say I did see the Indians when Sensabaugh was out, so with him in the lineup it could be a different story. Back to the true story here, should be a good game tonight at L. Hope Dossett Stadium. Good luck to both teams.
  2. True, they did kick away from him. The Admirals are the class of Regions 1 & 2 5A football. Farragut should go a long way in the state playoffs if not win the title.
  3. We enjoyed Homecoming at Science Hill. Great atmosphere for high school football. Science Hill never gave in and should be commended for their effort. Tough to hear about the injuries they are in our prayers.
  4. Science Hill picked on Devrin last week. The Toppers used Larry Smith a 6'6" WR to their advantage on a few nice pass plays. He did make one nice play to break up a pass and then the defense adjusted to get Devrin to the other side. I have watched every Bearden game this year home and away. No one has ever taken Devrin out of the game. They may have limited his rushing yardage on occasion but he'll break a punt, intercept a pass, run back a kickoff, the kid is always on the field If you cn afford the price of a ticket go check Devrin Young out.
  5. What type of offense does Campbell Co. run? Their stats look fairly balanced with a featured back. What type of defense does Campbell Co. employ? Thank you for your input.
  6. Toppers turned the ball over in some key moments this evening. Bearden capitalized. Devrin Young again looked good scored his 7th and 8th TD on the ground. Bearden defense struggled early against the versatile Isaac Kinley, but regroup and negated his talent. First trip to Memorial Stadium.
  7. I will ad to this thread as the week progresses. Bearden did a great job containing Isaac Kinley this evening.
  8. Should be an exciting Homecoming night at Memorial Stadium.
  9. JcToPpEr103803: Thank you for the insight into the Toppers offense. I'll be there for the game on Friday.
  10. For Bearden the key on offense is getting consistent play from senior QB Ryan Potter. When he has limited his mistakes, the Bulldogs have been successful. Five int against Farragut doomed the Bulldogs. His job is to get the ball to playmakers like Devrin. Tanner Fine is your typical tough-nosed fullback. He blocks well for Devrin and can make positive yardage when given the ball. He can also make the catch out of the backfield. Bearden has a quality OL. TE Adam Robertson and WR Davis Tull are two of Potter's targets when he throws the ball. The interesting attribute that seperates Devrin Young from most talented, athletic gifted running backs is his patience and willingness to follow his blockers. On defense, the Bulldogs swarm. As blur stated Fine is in on every tackle. Coach Taylor praises him as a kid that loves to hit! Wilker games has improved steadily as the year has progressed. Gets in the backfield quickly. Dillon caused a lot of problems for Halls last week as their running game was not working and as a result their QB was dropping back to pass on nearly every snap. Dillon meet the Halls QB! The Bearen defense is not spectacular but solid. What type of offense does Science Hill run?
  11. Will the Hilltoppers protect their house?
  12. It is a shame that Halls will not be at full strength as I feel it would have made for a great matchup. Still it is HS football and anything can happen. Let's hope for a good, injury free evening.
  13. Devrin Young should have another big night.
  14. Before I found out about all this mono hitting thr Halls team, I figured this for a pretty close game. With 5 defensive starters out and an o-lineman I just can't see how this will be game that Halls can compete for four quarters.
  15. I agree. Bearden has not faced the Wing-T this year. Every team that they have faced so par this year run a Utah spread offense with the QB in the shotgun. Halls will force Bearden to play assignment football on defense. It could go from a defensive struggle to an offensive shootout. Farragut and DB forced Bearden out of their typical balanced attack. Potter threw 5 int to Admiral defenders.
  16. Here it is. (Offense) -TE #91 Adam Robertson (6-0, 175, Jr) Potter's favorite target. -LT #55 Forrest Young (6-4, 205, Sr) Steady senior leader -LG #70 Travis Roberson (6-0, 256, Sr) Another anchor on the line - C #64 Bradley Ternes (5-11, 249, Jr) -RG #68 Greg Hopkins (5-10, 210, Jr) -RT #78 Edward Pena 5-10, 253, Jr) -WR #87 Davis Tull (6-3, 198, Jr) Made some nice clutch catches this year. -WR #12 Will Campbell (5-9, 174, Sr) -RB #33 Devrin Young (5-8, 150, So) No words can explain his talent. -FB #36 Tanner Fine (5-10, 178, Sr) Loves to hit. Great blocker. Solid player. Also plays LB -QB #8 Ryan Potter (5-11, 157, Sr) Plays a simple game... get the ball in the playmakers hands. Next is the defense. Thanks. Devrin Young does a nice job of following his blockers. He is very patient and waits for the hole then he turns it on. The OL has been steady but did struggle protecting Potter against DB and Farragut. Potter throws the ball around even though Robertson seems to be his go to guy. As does Halls, many of the Bearden player do time on both sides of the ball. Keep an eye on Tanner Fine. #36 can play ball. Brandon Reagen is one of the best punter/kickers in the State. Can hit FG inside the 40 consistently. I honestly look for a good game.
  17. Game will be broadcast online at www.1180ESPN.com
  18. Anyone have an offensive / defensive depth chart for the Red Devils?
  19. Ryan Potter has shown good senior leadership in games against Carter, West, and Karns. He did struggle against DB and Farragut (5 int), but I think he was trying to do too much by himself. Bearden has multiple weapons on offense. TE/WR Adam Robertson, WR David Tull, WR Will Campbell, FB Tanner Fine, HB Brandon Sapp, Peyton Landers and of course the incomparable sophomore Devrin Young. Their defense is anchored by Fine, Forrest Young, Dillon Wilker, Sapp, Young, Drew Williamson. This Bearden team plays a ton of sophomores because of a mass graduation, but also because they are so talented of a class. 1180 ESPN has named Devrin Bearden's player of the game three out of five weeks and it could have been more. He is a special talent and anyone that has witnessed his skills is always impressed. The impressed include opposing coaches, Knox News Sentinel reporters (Mike Strange, Mike Griffith, Nick Gates) and Farragut Press reporters Tom Mattingly. This should be a good game, but I give the advantage to Bearden.
  20. Alright let's begin the debate. I figure Bearden's defense can limit Halls' ground attack. While Halls will not have an answer for Devrin Young. Thoughts?
  21. This baby will be sold out. Game of the week in the Knoxville area. Comcast, wazoosports.com, WNML 990, ESPN1180.com, etc. will be broadcasting this game for television, internet streaming (audio and video) and good old fashioned radio. Now that's alot of attention for the Battle of West Knoxville. The Ads will win and it may not be close. Bearden will have to play mistake free football to be in this game at halftime.
  22. I think the Ads will take the Bulldogs by two touchdowns.
  23. www.wazoosports.com has games online.
  24. A lot depends on what area you are living. Bearden is hosting Dobyns-Bennett in a Region 1-5A mathcup. Austin-East is visiting Knox Catholic. Farragut is traveling to Heritage. All games are around Knoxville.
