I will tell you this, the new DC at Dekalb has had the Warren Tape in his hands for over a month or two now.....He's one of the best at knowing what you're going to do and when...If WC puts up more than 17, ill be suprised...I know the DC at Dekalb will have his troops in order and ready to go, as he will be just as jacked up....Go tigers!

Community comes into this game after a 1-9 season a year ago. Still with an issue at the quarterback spot. Very Inexpirenced Trey Barnes at quarter back. They will come out in a Pistol Wing set. Run first pass second kind of offense. The head coach runs both the offense and defense over in Unionville. Which for any of us who have coached knows can be very difficult. Defensivly they will run your usual 40 defense. one blitzing backer at all time. A few twist up from but nothing to complicated. They have the opportunity to be a decent little program but not enough kids and not enough expirence on the coaching staff. You have Coach Eric Hunt and Zack Faulk which who have never played a down of college ball in their life. Then you have Johnnie Frost and Seth Carter whom have played college ball. Also they have no depth as they may have 25 balls players in which maybe 11 REAL varsity football players..... As for the kids, you go out there and give all youve got.....Some of you have worked your butts off to get to this night. Hurts my heart to not be in gainesboro with a headset on......but there were just some issues with the head coach as you know....love you guys to death......go get em vikes....... coach miller

Daddy10- you want to talk about the community coaches not having respect or love in their hearts? You know me better than anyone else in the purple and gold because you were with me last year. Who was everyones favorite coach in woodbury? Because I cared about the kids. Because I took an approach from a well respected man in woodbury..."care about the kids, and the wins will come later" ~ Coach Bernigner. I went out on a limb for you. I stuck my kneck out. I bent over backwards for you.....And I'd do it all in a heart beat again. All you had to do is man up and say look, I know I messed up and I wasn't used to these rules at CC but ill do my best to change it. Not over the internet , not threw a text message but face to face. I have no hard feelings against you daddy10. I think your a great kid. You just have to learn how to exibt it. You know my number. If you need to talk all you have to do is press send. As far as the winning goes in Unionville. You all say there isn't much talent there. I'll tell you what......I'd take 11 guys from unionville anyday of the week. They may not be the most amazing athlete to ever walk on a football field. They may not be a rocket scientist when it comes to football. But ill tell you this , they've got a few things that myself as a coach cannot teach. They've got heart....they've got the want to....and they've got the never say die attitude. Ill take Trey Barnes,Jonathon Handy, Lucas Burks, Cody Pierce, Taylor Simpson, Justin Hampton, Ethan Hardin, Chewy, albert.........I take them to war......ill be hand in hand with them in a battle....because i know those 9 young men will fight for me....they'll never say the words i quit....thats what i want in a football team...once they learn that concept...the winning football comes later. But one thing that needs to be changed within the Unionville community .... One thing everyone needs to do..Is believe!

Wow its amazing how people view discipline. lf being a jerk is discipling kids then he is a first class jerk. Of the 41 kids that were out for spring practice only 6 quit stating the game wasnt for them. ( thats what spring is for, to see if you want to make a commitment for fall ) One kid was told to leave because of an out burst which involved cursing other players and a coach, which is not allowed by the community coaching staff. This totals 7 kids not being on the team. The other 34 went to the first scrimmage where they did a pretty good job with a new offense and defense having graduated 10 seniors. Where Frost screwed up was having the second week of practice during finals. This was the reason for no purple and gold game. There were about 12 kids who really needed to work on final exams, therfore Frost cancled the purple and gold game. lf the kids dont pass they dont play. With this in mind a purple and gold game with 11 on 11 would be pointless. Oh and winning only comes if the kids make the commitment and buy into the philosophy of the coaching staff along with being self disciplined. Maybe if you understood that you would be out there helping them get better instead of being negative.

Can anyone give me any kind of info on JC's spring schedule. Do we know who they are scrimaging and what not? Would like to get out an see them.

I just got off the phone with coach berninger whom was the defensive coordinator. He has won state championships, he has many undefeated seasons, he has accomplished everything in this life as a coach could want to achieve. He has no reason to back stab anyone. He stuck up and protected Andrew Bartsch from parents, and has even went to the administration to save his job during the season. He wishes nothing but the best for Andrew in the future. He wishes things could have been different.But he has never back stabbed a anyone

I think this could bea great step into the right direction for this program. Alot of you don't know what goes on during practice time or behind closed doors. All you see are the score on friday nights. And the you try to make your accusations on what really happened. As a member within, I can tell you Bartsch being fired was not because of his football knowledge, nor was it his record. It was because of his lack of respect for people in authority. Maybe the principle was trying to micro manage up there. But that is her school. She can do what ever she wants, how she wants it.He should have just showed her a little respect and I thinnk it would have went a long way. I read a comment on here about how the D- Coordinator and his son stabbed the former Coach in the back? I dont quite understand this comment. If you truly knew him, you would know that although he didnt always agree with an onside kick or running a counter on fourth and a mile, he stood behind this coach.He said he is just young. And even after the incident of Bartsch releasing the D- Coordinator he didnt hold a grudge. Sure he was upset, because he couldn't quite understand it. Because just weeks earlier Barstch was just talking about how great the defense was gonna be this year and what not. If you remember correctly all year long, when there were parents in the parking lot who wanted to beat bartsch up, for not playing his son and degrading his son. Coach Berninger was right there talking him out of it. If you want to talk about stabbing in the back, how about bartsch and bernie's son spending alot of time together, becomming good friends, going to clinics together and then bam without a caution or anything he pulls this guys dad into the office and fires him? So let's not quite call these two men back stabbers until youve got your facts right. Its funny how you would talk bad about these two individuals, when they moved away from their friends and family to come make a difference at CCHS. And sacrificed many hours on the grid iron for little pay.

Well figuring out who trenches is shouldn't be too tough of a challenge. Theres only two choices. Miller or Griswold. And since Coach Berninger was run out of town by the amazing Andrew Bartsch...Miller is no longer around moving on to bigger and better things. Good luck to Griz and the senior class. Maybe ill meet you guys down the road somewhere.

Edge? Would you be interested in a spring game against community this year?

I'm sure you know these two schools really well. I'm sure this berninger guy they talk about has more football knowledge than you'll ever dream about having. Not to mention he kept Own the Edge from getting his butt kicked on more than one occasion. Not because he had to, or even that he wanted to. But thats just the type of person. Woodbury lost one of the best human beings and football minds.

Back to Back State Titles at Landmark Christian. 2 National titles with Scottsboro Christian Academy. The new defense should be pretty great this year. Basic four four defense with no blitzing. I mean heck it did a great job on the Junior Varsity Level for many years. Right Owntheedge? As for Coach Berninger, How can you say his defense didn't look that great? He held a high powered Westmoreland team to just fourteen points. And would have held them to seven if owntheedge would have listened and kept the saftey over to help out instead of telling him to play the slant for god knows why. Let's talk about the responsiblity as a coach. Is it not to inspire young people? Isn't it to build a a kid into a man? Isn't it to be more than just a football coach? Be a role model? A leader? Owntheedge, can you really say you did that this year? Can you sleep well at night knowing good and well that you did all you could for these young men? Or did you degrade more than anything? Did you ever tell a kid he just wasn't good enough to play for you? What is that kid going to remember about his Senior year football season. Was it beating upperman at home? Was it the heart break of the westmoreland loss? No he is going to remember what a joke of a coach he had. A coach that told him that he wasn't good enough. Good Luck to your Junior Varsity mentality of a Defense.

I'm coaching at a 2a school right now. I may be interested in taking over a program that needs renovated.

Once again ill say, my kids need to get off of coacht and start preparing for the biggest game of the year.

Im sure tommorrow night ill tell them the same thing I told them after the FRA game , just different circumstances. It wouldve been very easy for us to go flat after going down 7 - 0. But this shows you what playing four quarter will do for you. And sure we havent had a great season thus far. But the heart is there, the work ethic is there and the talent is there. Nobody thought it would take until week 8 to get things going but the kids have never given up. Sure there has been doubt after a loss to Sequatchie but they came right back and punched York in the mouth , won at FRA, and gave Westy all they wanted an more. It has been a privledge of mine to be a part of this group. Theyve worked hard all year long, and now its time to punch out and get our check.

I think our kids know thats theyve been backed into a corner. This is do or die time for these seniors. This week determines whether they play 10 games in there final run, or if they play in the month of november. These kids have worked their butts off in the summer and every morning before school. And I think its time they get what they deserve. In the last 12 weeks I have become real close with these kids. We started as complete strangers and now their like my kids. Ive been there threw the heart break and the good times. And I think this week everything comes together. Right now in my eyes were 0-0 with 3 games remaining. We either go 1-2 and play 10 games and most of these seniors hang up the cleats and never play another down in their lives. Or they go 2-1 and make it back to the state playoffs where they deserve to be. And I think this is the week the seniors ( K. Walkup, J. Seng, L. Duggin, T. Harris, T. O'neil, J. Beard, M. Young, Blaine Rodgers, J. Parker, J. Rooker, and C. Fann) realize what theyre up against. And with their backs against a wall with no one believing fight for one more chance to make it into the playoffs.

Ok- So correct me if I am wrong. If Coach a has been coaching for 34 years, at a private school without a teaching degree. Moves to Tn. this year and is an assistant coach in the state of tn. Next year after completing the online courses would be elgible to be a head coach correct?

Do you have to be a certified teacher within the state of Tennessee to be named a High School head coach?
