  1. Watched a great game between Upperman and York yesterday. The 1st game of a double header, Upperman won 1-0 as both pitchers pitched very good games. Don't know the name of Uppermans pitcher, but Chris Stockton pitched for York. Both pitchers were on their game, with Upperman scratching a run in the 6th for the win.

  2. Thanks again for all the information, sounds like a good thing the Smokies are doing.agame' date='Feb 18 2009 - 11:00 AM' post='827034580']

My son has gone the last two years. It is worth every penny. Great experience for the young men - a little pressure and a lot of small college scouts mingled with a few major league scouts. It rained during the game part of my son's experience last year so he only got one inning in the field and did not have an appearance at the plate in a game setting, but it was still worth the money. Three coaches personally talked with him afterwards and it helped elevate confidence for personal workouts later on. It is a good local East Tennessee event that draws attention from all over the region.

    Best of luck

  3. Any way you look at it, Upperman is the team to beat, they won it last year. All the other teams will have to go through them. Teams like York and Dekalb and Livingston will have to be at their best to beat them. Just like every year it will come down to pitching and defense, who ever does the best with those 2 aspects will come out on top.

  4. No, you get a 2.50 ERA because their defense was very bad last year, a ton of unearned runs. Chris and Ty pitched very good most of the year, there was a game or 2 they got roughed up, but mostly done great. If they can find some defense and a little offense, they will be fine.quote name='one2watch' date='Jan 29 2009 - 01:53 PM' post='827017652']

how do you compile a 2.50 era for someone with those score ...... very few innings?

  5. Yorks' big 2 are Chris Stockton SR. RHP and Ty Patton JR. RHP. Both had an ERA of 2.50 last year and they both have good mound presence. If they are on their games, York will be tough to handle.

who is they're "big two" ?

  6. Brett Patton is Yorks' new coach. He is a pretty smart baseball man and will at least make them hustle alot more.I also agree that Upperman is going to be really tough again this year.It should come down to York and Upperman , if Yorks big 2 at the Pitchers spot improves on last year.sk

sorry to say but york will be the same as they always are ....middle of the pack im guessing 4th or 5th ... proly upperman dekalb macon livingston york smith cannon i am guessing though macon has good pitching to contest .... upperman is a very good team and relating to the york returning 9 ... upperman has been returning 9 SINCE what 2005 or 2006 ? dekalb i agree always a good team they are well coached and will show up every night i have wondered what their pitching staff looks like this year ... Livingston i dunno much about i know they didnt lose many last year but was the ones they lost crucial to replace? they have certainly been a fall out since 05 coming off back to back to back district titles to the past three years not making it ... york lost their head coach i believe and he is coaching for livingston or smith or something like that . anyone know who the replacement is ? smith lost a complete ton if i am correct and thats why i think they will be low this year ... cannon has a veteran team and i know the least about them im sure they proly have talent im just waiting for them to prove it to me ... thats just my take on the district

    what is you guys thoughts?

  7. I will throw three names out there from York Institute: Chris Stockton RHP/3B, Dakota Jones 1B/CF and Micah Norman SS. If York is going to do anything this year, these three are the ones that have to lead the way. Chris is a pitcher that features 4 pitches and does a great job on the mound as well as being a good hitter. Dakota is an excellent 1st Baseman and his OBP is always great. Micah is a solid SS and also handles the bat well, these three hopefully will have good years their senior year and lead York to the State Playoffs.

  8. Let's see:

    Farragut returns-

    2008 National Rookie of Year

    2 All Americans

    4 All State Players

    5 All Region Players

    6 All District Players

And each of them knows that all that means nothing if they don't do better next year.

York Dragons are returning all their players from

a dissapointing year. They do have a new coach, so maybe they will play totheir potential this year. They have abou 8 seniors, so they better do something this year!

  9. devin hightower from clarksville aca. 8-1 on the mound last year while batting over 500 and a very strong arm from Center field

York has 3 really good seniors this year. Their 1B, SS and P/3B are all solid ballplayers!
