Watched a great game between Upperman and York yesterday. The 1st game of a double header, Upperman won 1-0 as both pitchers pitched very good games. Don't know the name of Uppermans pitcher, but Chris Stockton pitched for York. Both pitchers were on their game, with Upperman scratching a run in the 6th for the win.

Yorks' new field is just past the High School on the left. It will be a really nice field by next year.

I heard Dekalb looked pretty good against York. How did Yorks' pitchers look?

Yes, York is returning everyone and they are opening a new ballpark. Upperman is returning most of their team also and they swept York last year. You never know in baseball, that is why you play the games, should be a fun year!

How is Upperman looking so far, I hear they will be very good in 2009. Will anyone in their district be able to hang with them( Dekalb or York maybe!).

It is worth every penny. Great experience for the young men - a little pressure and a lot of small college scouts mingled with a few major league scouts. It rained during the game part of my son's experience last year so he only got one inning in the field and did not have an appearance at the plate in a game setting, but it was still worth the money. Three coaches personally talked with him afterwards and it helped elevate confidence for personal workouts later on. It is a good local East Tennessee event that draws attention from all over the region. Best of luck

Any way you look at it, Upperman is the team to beat, they won it last year.All the other teams will have to go through them. Teams like York and Dekalb and Livingston will have to be at their best to beat them. Just like every year it will come down to pitching and defense, who ever does the best with those 2 aspects will come out on top.

Yes, same 9 starters, new coach, and a years more experience. Their defense has to improve and their offense will be better. I am not saying they will win the district, but they will give Upperman a run at it!

No, you get a 2.50 ERA because their defense was very bad last year, a ton of unearned runs. Yorks' big 2 are Chris Stockton SR. RHP and Ty Patton JR. RHP. Both had an ERA of 2.50 last year and they both have good mound presence.If they are on their games, York will be tough to handle.

Brett Patton is Yorks' new coach. He is a pretty smart baseball man and will at least make them hustle alot more.I also agree that Upperman is going to be really tough again this year.It should come down to York and Upperman , if Yorks big 2 at the Pitchers spot improves on last year.sk

Chris Stockton, York. He throws 4 quality pitches with pretty good control, and has great mound presence!

I will throw three names out there from York Institute: Chris Stockton RHP/3B, Dakota Jones 1B/CF and Micah Norman SS. If York is going to do anything this year, these three are the ones that have to lead the way. Chris is a pitcher that features 4 pitches and does a great job on the mound as well as being a good hitter. Dakota is an excellent 1st Baseman and his OBP is always great. Micah is a solid SS and also handles the bat well, these three hopefully will have good years their senior year and lead York to the State Playoffs.

York has a veteran team, but will their talent finally produce wins?

York Dragons are returning all their players from a dissapointing year. They do have a new coach, so maybe they will play totheir potential this year.They have abou 8 seniors, so they better do something this year!

York has 3 really good seniors this year. Their 1B, SS and P/3B are all solid ballplayers!
