  1. Oldtimeballer, I'll give that one a hearty AMEN!!!!!!! Temple realizes how big this game is and I think they will be ready to play. I just don't see a let down for them after how well they played yesterday. If Temple plays their game, they will win by 10. If not, it may be more of the nightmare that was last Friday. That was disgraceful (no pun intended) for them to do that in Temple's Gym. I don't think the Crusaders will allow that to happen this time and will win the Region.
  2. I don't think teams take turns when it comes to championships so try and convince Temple to let Grace "have their turn".
  3. Did anyone else notice that fatchance said he's been right all year when he picked Grace over Temple twice already? Temple by 8. The Crusaders are fired up after hearing the Grace students chant "We want Temple!!" on Tuesday. Be careful what you wish for.
  4. Monday: 21st Cent. over Copper Basin by 15 (First Round) Tuesday: Temple over 21st Cent. by 25 (Semi) Tuesday: Grace over Boyd by 11 (Semi) Thursday: Boyd over 21st Cent. by 6 (3rd Place) Thursday: Temple over Grace by 8 (Championship) No upsets, but some great games. Temple wins, not because they have home court advantage, but because they know how to win the close ones and they have played a much tougher non-district schedule than all the rest.
  5. Brainerd is the clear favorite in this game for every reason. Temple will keep it respectable, but I don't think they are at Brainerd's level this year. Coach Wadley will have his team ready to play and even if Temple doesn't win, the score may surprise some people. My pick: Brainerd 68 Temple 59.
  6. How can anyone say that Temple is overrated when they are not even recieving votes for state rankings??? Don't you have to be rated high to be overrated???? Besides, Temple is 7-0 in the district this year, where the standings matter right now. Fatchance is getting on my nerves. Any picks for Temple-CPA today, anyone? I won't get to be there so someone please post the score asap after the game.
  7. To say that Temple is having a down year is somewhat accurate since they've lost 7 games this year after losing 5 the previous two seasons. But to say they are terrible and overrated is 100% false. They are at the top of the district and should get another chance to play CCS in the Region. As for tonight, I'll say Crusaders 65, Bucs 54. Fatchance, Who cares if Temple can't seem to beat McCallie?? Sure they would have liked to, but McCallie isn't gonna be on their District or Region schedule. Congratulations to Grace for beating McCallie, but Temple seems to come out on top when it matters most.
  8. Even in past years when Temple has been a state title contender and Grace has been just average, this has been a great game. Now that both teams seem to be more evenly matched than in recent seasons, it looks like it could go either way. Grace is confident that they can beat Temple this time around. Grace SHOULD HAVE WON at home against the Crusaders in January, but lost a four point lead in the final 2 minutes of overtime. Both teams are young and confident, Grace may have the edge in confidence, if that counts for anything. But I will say that Grace comes in overconfident and falls 51-48 to the defending state champs.
  9. How can Temple beat Unaka and Grace, both Unaka and Grace beat McCallie, but Temple can't beat McCallie?????
  10. If you're looking for what might be the top regular season matchup in Class A in East Tennessee, Look no further than Temple at Chattanooga Christian tonight. Should be a dandy! I'm a Temple fan, but I'm gonna pick CCS by 6. Anyone else have any picks for it? Both are capable of making it to the 'boro this year.
  11. Yes Temple is starting football next season. There should only be a minimum amount of impact because I expect all of the true basketball players to stick with the roundball and hardwood. Basketball has been number one at Temple for forever so I expect it to stay that way.
  12. Since when is giving up 25 points to a player shutting him down???? Jake is the best player to come out of Chattanooga since Jason Holwerda and he could have a better college career than Holwerda if he works hard enough.
  13. I also believe that if PC holds Jake (Mr. Basketball) Skogen to 10 points or less that they will win. But that would be a miracle because Skogen has started all 34 games this year and his lowest point total is 17. And who says Temple can't guard the post? Obviously the same people who haven't seen them play at all this year. Crusaders by 5.
  14. Jake Skogen averaged 28.9 points and 7.8 rebounds in 28 regular season games this season. He is 6-5, 185 pounds. As far as his dunking ability, I don't think that is very important, but you would have to go to more than just one game to really see what he can do. In a District Tournament game today, he had 23 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocks in a win. He has helped Temple to a 27-2 record so far. He should be Mr. Basketball, hands down.
  15. Can't blame the refs tonight can you? Boyd hurt themselves with poor free-throw shooting and Temple was outstanding from the foul line. Skogen was 16-16 on freethrows and finished with 32. What a game!!!!!!
  16. Temple is not a very big school at all, but their fans always pack out Vance Gym, which is a pretty big gym. And when Temple's students (the Crusader Crew) get going, that place will be so loud Boyd won't even be able to think much less play. Boyd is an extremely good program, but Temple has had their number recently so look for that to continue.
  17. I am going to be biased because I am a Temple fan, but... Both these guys are not only outstanding ballplayers, but they are good Christian guys off the court too. They are both active in church and both have GPA's over 3.8!!!! Take us back to State fellas!!!!!!!!!
  18. I think it will be a fairly high-scoring game since both teams like to run up and down the court. But Temple may be showing the effects of a recent busy schedule. Listen to this: Last Tuesday, at Tyner; Last Saturday, vs. McCallie; yesterday, vs. CCS. And they have to play at Boyd tomorrow. So I'm going to wait until after the Boyd game to make my final prediction but for right now I'll say Temple by 8, mainly because it is their homecoming game and they will have a huge crowd.
  19. Where are all the CCS talkers now??? In case anyone missed it, CCS jumped out and led 24-6 early in the second quarter. But that didn't last for long as Mr. Jake Skogen lit up CCS for 18.....in the second quarter!!!!! Which by the way was more than Mr. Cook scored all game (12). Nobody can stop him??? Wadley's too short???? Please know what you're talking about before you post messages on here. Skogen finished with 30 and Temple won 69-60. Wadley had 19 points and 6 assists (and that's with a broken thumb, thank you very much!!)
  20. Temple at Boyd has been postponed until a later date. Most likely Thursday, January 23.
  21. Once again Temple is being overlooked. But that's ok because they are primed for a repeat. p.s.: Jake Skogen for Mr. Basketball!!!!!
