  1. You're right that we focus on '98 and '99....but doesn't Alcoa...and YOU in this post focus on the fact that they are 5-0 in state championships?? This is 2008.....doesn't matter what team won last year, or the year before, or in '99....what matters is the year at hand. And we Milan fans support our team and let them know that they have what it takes to go to the top. We tell them that every year. That's why we have such a great fan base, and such a great support for our team. We may not be the best every game or every week....but you sure as heck won't find a true Milan fan to say otherwise. Wether we're right or wrong! GO DAWGS!!!!!

  3. Nope Milan was ranked No. 2. I double checked my scrapbook that I made that year and confirmed that Milan was No. 2 while Portland was ranked No. 1
  4. I believe the word you're looking for there is "WON'T"....as in will not WANT is a desire to possess something.... apparently we see now that Alcoa spends ALL their efforts on the field and not in the classroom. haha jk jk....sorta! lol
  5. I always was a fun of Bo Peep with her muffet and curds and weigh.......except for that darn spider! Anywho..... I'm with some of the others....Trenton will put up a fight. They won't go down easy...just b/c it's Milan and that means cross county rivalry plus the outcome the past couple of year. But in the end Milan by 21 or more
  6. Actually if you want to take the time to read THIS thread....not much talk about the actual game going on in here. I believe there was one post about Milan wiping Trenton off the face of the earth.....another about the QB playing b/c he's a coaches son....so no I was stating MY opinion in what I took from this thread. and no...I'm not a teenager but I know what it's like to be in their situation. So if you can't leave people's opinions alone I suggest you go sit in a corner. /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
  7. You know there really is no reason to bash on Trenton. Those kids have had a terrible year and a year that I wish on NO teenager losing one of their seniors, Matt M. That being said...these kids have not made excuses or even given up. They are out there every Friday night playing their hearts out, and I respect that greatly! You know I'm sure we've all lost parents, or friends...but honestly if you've never lost a friend when you're 16, 17, 18 years old you really have NO clue what these kids are going through. We all know that death is a part of life, but it's not supposed to be a part of that life until we're like 80. So having to deal with it when you're not even 20 yet, that's tough. So people should instead of talking about how terrible they are, talk about how strong this Trenton team is to pick up, and carry on without one of their leaders. They've gained my respect!
  8. I'm not trying to take anything away from Alcoa. Personally I've never seen them, but I do have family in east TN who has and ironically their football team was the last 2A team to beat Alcoa oh 5 or 6 years ago I believe. (Rockwood around 2003-2004...but don't hold me to that) Anywho, if you're not a Milan faithful however, you've never seen Milan play when all odds are against them. Case in Point 1999 against Portland. Now I realize we don't have the same group we had then....but I do know how much our guys put themselves into a game when they are the underdogs....no pun intended. So I personally don't expect a blowout as 42-6. I don't think it'll be extremely close either. But I wouldn't count our boys to just sit back and let them blow us out of the water. Who knows....I sure hope to find out however! /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> Hope to see you in the 'Boro!
  9. by NO means am I saying we will beat Alcoa by 4 TDs....I'm not stupid...I'm just saying that when/if Milan gets to Alcoa it's gonna be one of the best games BOTH teams have played all year. I am however saying no one EVER gives Milan the credit they are due. And what people DON'T see is the fact that no matter who the opponent is against Milan...they are going to play harder in THAT game (vs. Milan) than any other game in the season. No one wants to loose to Milan b/c everyone talks every year about how great Milan is. So most teams in this area, they train so much harder for Milan than other teams because they are the team to beat. If you've never seen USJ or JCS...or any of the private school in Jackson play, then you really have no idea what they were up against these two weeks. Milan is a speed group, we all know that. Those two teams...passing clubs. No Milan didn't win either of them pretty....but they got the job done and got a W. So why exactly is everyone still so adamant that Milan does not deserve their number two spot. I now pose the question to you "haters" we shall say..... Who DOES deserve this Number two spot????
  10. You know everyone keeps saying "well if Milan didn't have the two kick offs run back...it would have been 21-21 in OT" but guess what people....they DID run back not one but TWO kick offs. And not them....TRISTAN PEOPLES! I mean come on guys, Milan has shown they can play the run-pass-and special teams game. No they didn't win by 4 TD's but they aren't playing Alcoa...yet! All I'm sayin is don't count the Dawgs out 'til they're out. I do remember in 98 and 99 everyone couting them out during every game they played in the playoff's and they won every game.
  11. actually the past two weeks (USJ and JCS) are both 2A teams and region games. and tonight it was a 14 point game.... just saying
