first, none of yall over a milan has never seen York play dont know how they do what they do....you should not be saying anthing about york....they are not saying anything bad about you. This is supposed to be a fun thing for these boys not something to fight over. York is going to bring everthing everthing they got. This is the farthest that any York team has ever gone so let it be fun for them. York is an excelent team and they will bring everthing they got plus more to this friday's game against Milan. Just wait and you might be suprized....

Hm...Don't believe anyone over in York has seen Milan play either. Guess we just shouldn't have threads in the post season then, considering MOST teams after the 2nd round haven't seen each other. Guess there's NO reason to talk about the championship game next week either, considering Milan, York, Alcoa, or EHS haven't seen one another this year. Oh....and pigs fly!

What do you think STARTS great rivalries??? TALK! It's one fan saying to another, "We're better than you"....and so the rivalry begins! Talk is half the fun of football. None of it is meant as hurtful, it's just fun football talk. I haven't seen where any Milan fan has been disrespectful to York or their program. Just stating their opinion to the fact that they believe, as do I, that Milan is going to win this game, and in a slightly impressive way. Every team Milan has played this year has come off the field at the end of the game and you hear a cummulative sigh and I'm sure they are thinking, "Wow, these guys are good!" Even York's fans have posted their prediction of a 35-7 victory by York.

So Mr. or Mrs. Lovebug ...if you're not having "fun" on this thread...please feel free to move along. Your presence will be missed not one bit!

Goodness Mercy Me....12 pages and I've not even commented yet! LoL I've been out of town.

I don't know much about York, but I know where it is....and my family is from just down the mountain in Rockwood. I'm pretty positive that my Bulldawgs are gonna prevail....and by at least 3 touchdowns!!! I hope to see a great game. Hope York's fans have a safe trip out, and hope you enjoy The Dawg Pound!!!

sorry if i am a little late on this, but reading through most of this, all i see is people complaining about alcoa's open zone school and how all the players go there. but if you look at it, 5 minutes away you have maryville, theres enough said there about how good they are, and 10 minutes the other way you have farragut, who is just as good. surrounding alcoa in about a 25 or so mile radius is 4 or 5 teams who have made it to the 3rd round of the playoffs, usually consistently this good. so apparently all of the good players dont even use the open zone to their advantage. they dont have to. almost anywhere you go in this area you will play for a playoff team. so milan, particularly dawg44 and swingjuice, get over it. you lose to them every year and im about 101% sure you will this year too. so just have fun the rest of your season and good luck. against alcoa you will need it, although im not sure how far luck can take you in that game

If you have to start out by saying "Sorry if I'm a little late", then you shouldn't even be posting it! You Alcoa fans come and complain about the few Milan "trolls" in your boards, yet you come bee-boppin' across the river and waltz in here DAYS after the fact talking about crap that is irrelevant!!! I would like to see somebody from Camden get on here and talk up there team. A little bit more than "go team" is required. Seems like all you want to do is get on here and complain about the dawgs talking amongst themselves. I guess Saturday is opening day of deer season an all, but surely you guys aren't ready to pack it in.

I love how when Milan fans get on here, and state facts about how good our team is this year. And give our opinion of how we believe the game is going to turn out. We are viewed as "classless". Talking up your team to your opponents isn't classless....it's RIVALRY! Aside from a couple of our more zealous fans, what exactly has Milan's fans said this year that hasn't been true? We've said all year, and just about every game that we were going to dominate. And our boys have backed up all of our words......

Since I got your attention, what is the scoop on Coleman. I truly hope that he is able to get back in playing shape in a hurry to open some doors and turn some heads. However I would hate to see something hurt him long term. Also how good is the Milan qb. I know it is his first year to start. Is he as good as J. Coleman? how is he different? btw, Milan's board has been pretty lame this year with little participation. Looking around on other boards and there seems to be much more excitement for teams that are no where near as good as Milan. Hope the crowds haven't slacked for the games. Your team is deserving of the best support in the state as you are truly a winning "program"

 

Camden, how many yards/game do you guys average. Do you have one feature back or do you run by committee? How good is your defense? With Milan facing some week opponents over the past couple of weeks, it will be interesting to see how they react to some tough situations by a good defense. Is the Gaskin qb a senior? Your program has really come a long way over the past few years and you should be very proud.

*sigh* I guess I'll suck it up and respond. Not sure why the boards have been slacking. I noticed that myself actually. Part of it was the fact we started out the season...well HURT! But we all got back to 100% quick.

As for Coleman, talked to Morris on Saturday, and he said he's BACK!!! Yay! He doesn't wanna over do it, so he's just gonna play it by ear and see how it goes. He'd rather have him in the championship game (as long as we continue to roll) than risk re-injury. IMO, Ryan is awesome. Most people overlook the fact that this is his FIRST year starting. As good at Jr...eh idk. I honeslty haven't gotten to see him play this year. It's been all Stevie Ray on 93.7 for me this year due to the fact I work nights now! However I WILL be at the game Friday, and I'm UBER excited!!!

Just a fun fact....I looked up some stats the other night and Milan is ranked number 11 in all time wins in the state of TN. Only team in 2A higher....well of course Alcoa. So again IMHO....Milan deserves everything they earn. Call it "cupcake" if you want....they still stand out among the rest of the state in class 2A!!!

Camden's defense will step up if needed.

I am about the only person in the state (outside of Milan) giving the dawgs a chance this year and I have seen the other team play some. So, here is your "swift" pat, if you were indeed refering to me.

 

Still would like to know what changed with Coleman. I would be surprised if he plays much this week if he is just coming back to practice this week. Does Camden have much in the running game? How is their defense playing.

Well I can tell you with complete assurance........that the actual BULLDOGS....(not the fans in the stands or on here) but the guys on the sidelines have NOT gotten their horse ahead of their cart. I have never seen a team this focused before. I've been at the high school a few Friday's this fall, and normally Friday's are wild and crazy. That hasn't been the case this year. This is a determined group of guys, and they aren't going to quit until they get what they want. And that's a ring!

Camden has one week to "perfect" it's game with their backup QB. And unfortunately, I don't think that's going to be long enough to beat this Milan team.

Problem with Alcoa is that they are good. Most everywhere. They are exceptional at the LOS on both sides of the ball. The problem comes in that they know they are good and that gets them playing undisciplined ball from time to time and getting stupid penalties. Looks like there are a few key positions that they are simply average at with the most glaring being CB (small and slow). With all that depth, it is quiet mind boggling to see them play so many players both ways. The qb is on the field almost all the time and that could end up costing you big time. I may be wrong but there are some weaknesses there. Question is can anyone exploit them.

 

Sorry to put this in this thread, but I'm not big on trolls coming into threads to talk smack about a beat down that is very far in the future. True or not, not real classy. Truth is, Milan can play with Alcoa because this is a special team especially if Coleman is healthy. Of coarse, they have their weaknesses. But next up is Camden.

I'll be honest, this one worries me a little bit. Milan's starters (correct me if I'm wrong) have not played a full 4 quarters of football since WEEK 1! I'm thinking we might need them this week....and I hope we can stand up to the test.

Advisor, how can you blame the Martin fans for feeling that security was an issue going to Manassas when Memphis is known as a place where a lot of murder, rapes, robberies, drug deals, etc go on all the time, especially in the inner city? I think that anyone who has to play a Memphis team...at night..on a Friday night...better be concerned with safety. They would be foolish to not be concerned.

Come on people, crime is EVERYWHERE. A couple of years ago at the Milan/Westview game, when Milan beat Westview for the region championship in the last game of the year...MY car was keyed, AND broken into! And they vandalized my Bulldog flag on my car! (I bet that was a Manassas fan though )

So crime isn't just limited to Memphis.

My heart, thoughts, and prayers go out to the Collett family, which happens to be part of my family as well. This is a terrible time, for all of CAK, but through God all things are possible.

Stewart Co. has had the experience the past two years as many of this years seniors have seen numerous playing time the past two years and none of them want this to end. They know the task at hand and also know Milan is a very very good football team. However, we will come out and give it our all regardless and do whatever it takes. We think our gameplan, if performed to perfection, can beat Milan. Any Given night right? SC will come out strong and wants that first career playoff win. Go Rebels!!

fairview got stiffed in this new system. we finished 1st in the 3a schools in our district but 4th behind 3 4a schools so we have to go 2 and a half hours to memphis to play a team with a worst record.

 

honestly...you finished 4TH in your district....no matter what class your division foes were in. Milan beat Crockett Co and Westview...both 4A schools in their division. So class has NOTHING to do with it. The better teams won. The only way to not get "stiffed" as all you people say is be 1st!

 

So now quitcherbitchin' and go play football!!!

 

 

But for those of you STILL upset come Friday night, there'll be a nice platter of Cheese at Johnnie Hale for you. So stop by and get some to go along with your WHINE!!!

 

this is a funny post. first, the 4a teams in fairview region (giles co, page, spring hill) all ranked in 4a. secondly, if im not mistaken westview is a 3a school which is why they are in the 3a playoff bracket. next time lets get those facts straight before you start talking smack. but your a girl apparently so ill let it slide this time

The only mistake in that post was the Westview comment, which was meant to read Dyersburg, so my bad. However the 4A schools Milan played ALSO ranked.

My point is.....everyone needs to just get over it. We knew LAST year that we were going to have to deal with the Z-Plan, that it was crappy, is crappy and still will be crappy but it's the hand that has been dealt.

Does it suck that you have to travel 2.5 hours next Friday night??? Yep....but there are HUNDREDS of other teams in the state, and guys that DIDN'T get in the playoffs that would GLADLY drive 10 fricken hour and not fricken complain just to play this Friday night!
