  1. Once again the brentwood o line is gonna manhandle the franklin D-line with a very strong rushing attack.

and i believe franklin might have a few injuries with the d line right now....

brentwood you have a very good team but i think the cougars would have given franklin a better round three...the wrong team is playing on friday.

    [/quote

just like you gave such a great game on Halloween getting beat 35-14 oh yeah that was a way to hang with the Rebels.

  2. If you mean get over the loss, I was over the loss when I posted this morning.

huskermoron started the excuse bull...turnovers and depth were the story, or I guess every sports writer and person at the game were all wrong. turnovers are a part of the game and we lost that part of the game. that was part of the difference. We lost to a very good team, but let it be that and go on. Maybe its just genetic for him

Why is it that when Centennial finally has a good year and replaces one of the perennials, our region is down. If Ravenwood, with Independence or Dickson had been the playoff teams, everyone would have continued to say WOW Region 6 is the toughest....but when little ole Centennial jumps up everyone screams the league is down.

I agree Brentwood might have won more if not for Ravenwood, Franklin would have if not for Centennial then Independence coming along in the last decade. Check the numbers, BW, RW, FK, and IN all have 500-700 more kids than Centennial. In football, where you have 22 players + kicker and punter, Centennial by far has the most going both ways. It catches up with you every time. In basketball and baseball where that depth isn't as necessary, Centennial has more than held their own. In baseball, we own BW and IN, sweeping the last 2 years. Basketball does very well against all the teams.

You look up the numbers, I know them. Centennial was similar in size, and BW got screwed intially too. All of the others have kids in portables, bursting at the seams, and we are 600 students less. Doesn't make any sense at all.

Not long till baseball and we can get back to being the ELITE team without the ELITE ATTITUDE.

maybe you would have more kids go out for the team if you had a better program. I would rather have an "ELITE ATTITUDE" than walk around with a chip on my shoulder. Last time I checked this was a football message board I could care less who you own in baseball. And by the way Region 6 is still the best whether "little ole Centennial" found a way to be apart of it this season or not, we are the best with or without you or in spite of you.

  3. Alright, I'm done with this thread. It's clear that nobody on here can actually talk about the game itself. It's just bash after bash about people talking about Nick Yazzie, so congrats Franklin posters, you win. Yazzie stinks, he is no Ford, how dare they even be mentioned in the same breath. I concede, Franklin is the king of high school football.

    Good luck and God bless.

at least you finally got it!!

  4. I think (I HOPE) that td's post was in response to cougarally's ridiculous, rambling rant born out of either extreme frustration or insanity...take your pick. Let the record show that it was not a Brentwood fan who started throwing the financial blows. I can't apologize for the "elite" comments though...I actually agree. This isn't regarding social class or finances...it's about football. It's hard to argue that Brentwood's program is a perennial powerhouse. Even in "down" years, the Bruins manage to make their way to the post-season. Our players are very talented and dedicated...not in a flashy, "look at me" way but it works. Maybe Brentwood doesn't have a "star", but it's working...the Bruins play as a team. After all, sometimes star players are sitting at home come championship time...

Bruins: Congratulations! It may not have been pretty at times, but you came out on top. Continue to work hard this week and remain focused on your goal. Finish the job, guys! We believe in you!!!

    Go Bruins!!!

Of course it was in response to cougarally that person is an idiot. This fan got too caught up and now cant cope with the loss and wants to blame everyone else. He wants to complain about zoning there is no telling how many gold balls Brentwood would have in the last several years if Ravenwood had not been built. But Brentwood found a way to rebuild and bounce back. And what about Riverdale do you think they may be hurting with the new schools they have built I bet you one thing they will bounce back too. Get over it Cougarally.

  5. What a total idiot...IMO

excuses are like your rear end...everybody has one and most of them stink!!!! the FACT is Centennial is behind the eight ball from the beginning due to the 2 re-zonings of WCS. We have an enrollment of just over 1200 and most every other school in the county goes over 1900 students. Bwood dresses 99 with no freshmen and CHS had 65 including every freshman available. It's not just about football, it is about every sport, and every other aspect of the school, most importantly, academically. Big bad Brentwood has without a doubt the most arrogant players and fans..I heard the players with my own ears and some, not all of the parents and students..You wish you had enough money to go to BA or MBA...but you don't!! Maybe daddy can get another job or Mom can start making some money on the side so you can be a part of the ELITE you think you are...ANOTHER FACT is Centennial got the the pieces of the county that Franklin told the school board they didn't want and then they go and recruit the kids they do want.....Clayton said it himself two weeks ago, "We have six starters right now zoned for Centennial." It's sad that we all live in the best county for sports, education, and opportunity, in the state and I am now completely uninterested in what happens from here on in the football playoffs. I couldn't care less if Franklin or Brentwood wins...I will be pulling for whomever they play...EVEN IF ITS RUSSIA!!!!! I'll be the one wearing the hammer and sickle!!!

Great job COUGARS....picked last by most and went further than anyone could've every dreamed!!!!

Thanks Coaches for a great year!!!!

who you really need to be thanking is Indy and Dickson county for having a down year otherwise you would have been sitting the same place you have set every other year at home on the outside looking in!! You got stunk into believing your team was good by playing a weak schedule and beating bad teams. By the way we dont think we are "ELITE" we KNOW we are!! We are of an "ELITE" group of hard working group of teachers, parents, players, and coaches that want the best for our players and will do what it takes to give it to them whether it be fund raising out the whazoo or dads out there breaking a sweat. Maybe you're daddy or mommy can go get another job so you (or your child) could go to the great schools of Franklin or Brentwood. Maybe if you had a better program your players wouldn't want to leave! Dop't hate us because we're great we just can't help it!! Maybe in another 10 years you will have a "couple" of good players and your region will be down and you can make another run in the playoffs but until then have fun pulling against Franklin and Brentwood its the only enjoyment I see in your near future. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

  6. Well it's Game Day and time for some Socks and some Crow to be handed out after the game. Hope your mouths and stomachs can handle all of it. Lord knows that's all that has been said is how bad the Commandos will go down and how talented the Rebels are and blah blah blah.

After fighting thru all the crap, statistics, worthless comments displayed by former waterboys and football managers - Guess what ???????? C'mon you know, C'mon?????? Ok I'll tell you because I'm quite sure you can't understand because you have reallly never experienced it before. They still have to come in and play the GAME. Take all The load of BS (common opponents, thousand yard backs, D1 this and that, and yes evn the Yazzie Factor) and file it away til next week. Tonight it"s 11 on 11 and may the best TEAM Win.

Don't you hate it when you write a stupid post like this one that comes back to bite you?? especially the part about "how bad the commados will go down and how talented the Rebels are and blah blah blah" Gee I guess it was ALL true and the commandos really are THAT bad and in a sub par region.

  7. will be a very great game no doubts and hope its a close one- HOWEVER i still think the Bruins end up on top scaping with a 10 pt win - but, in back of my mind its tough to beat a region foe two times in one year(ask FHS last year when they met INDY in the playoffs) , and is CHS the 2008 version of INDY?

no matter whom wins it will set up another rematch of some sort as Franklin awaits and i know the boys at CHS would like nothing better to see a CHS- FHS rematch - so you CHS fans start cheering for those hated Rebs to get your rematch and lastly , amsrock if you are reading this i hope i get some more game play by play from you-

I guess its safe to say you give Hendersonville no chance of a win tonight? /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

  8. Chaz is not at school, Harris is on crutches with high ankle sprain, Austin Bass (region Kicker of the year) is out with hip flexor. Junior Steven Hovis was doing all the kicking at practice yesterday...HUGE dropoff..field goal max 25 yards if he's lucky, some other kid was "attempting" to punt..

what have you got the Acorn organization on here trying to influence the outcome of the game? quit wasting your time making false injury reports NOBODY is buying it. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

  9. So looking towards the end the most likely scenario for the way the region finishes out is

    1 Brentwood

    2 Franklin

    3 Centennial

    4 Ravenwood

    5 Independence

But a lot of football is unfinished. It might be just as likely that this is not the way the region finishes out.

    more likely than not

  10. Everyone should stop responding to this poster. I was rolling my eyes and shaking my head as I typed this because that is what I do every time I read one of your posts. Let's quit wasting our time on hsfbfan1.

Well he does have a point Indy nation is usually on here alot, not so much this season.

  11. Who cares who its against. And who cares what your team did for that matter. It's not often you hear about a player at this level getting 17 touchdowns in a season, much less after only 7 games. The point is Chaz has been the central figure of the Cougar's turnaround this season, and if the Cougars can finish out this season strong, Chaz deserves the MVP award.

Are you serious? you don't think it matters who its against. You know I guess I cant fault you fans for being over zealous lets face it its been a LONG time since youve had ANYTHING to be excited about so you know what have at it. Just be very greatful Dickson co. is so bad this year.

  12. How many TD's does your QB have?

The point is you cant be bragging when you play against a bad defense. Listen nobody is impressed how many points you put up against a team like Dickson county. Our team was playing our JV by the middle of the third against them. Its just way too early to be bragging when you beat a team with a winning record come back and see us.

  13. I was indeed referring to the rest of the season.

Another big story from CHS this year: What a year Chaz Scales is having. Coming into this year, alot of people questioned whether he could be effective enough at QB to take the Cougars to the next level. So far this year, Chaz has 17 TD's (9 passing, 7 rushing, and one INT return) and had gone nearly 5 weeks without an interception. When you watch him, you definitely see a more confident and more mature QB then we saw the past couple of years. Not only that, but he has played great defensive ball all season long. He always seems to be glued to his man and I've seen him make countless pass breakups. All the hard work that he has put into this program over his 4 years, as well as Coach Mat's confidence in him have payed off in a big way this season. If the Cougars continue to play well, Chaz deserves some big consideration for Region MVP this year.

Come back on here bragging when your team beats a program that is playoff bound. With the exception of a win over an okay Seigal team you don't really have that much to brag to about. No one is really very impressed outside of Centennial that is. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

  14. Centennial has two quality wins in Indy and Siegel. But CHS won't get a real region test until Ravenwood. Ravenwood has played inconsistently this season, but they have had two great wins in Brentwood Academy and Brentwood, and was one bad break away from beating the nation's 20th ranked team last night. They are not a team to be taken lightly.

What about the region test you failed in the Brentwood game?? /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" />

  15. And we did see Friday night.

    1. Franklin did not play 4 quarters.

    2. Team paniced and the coach paniced. Brentwood didn't panic.

    3. Play calling on Franklins last drive with 45 seconds was pathetic

    4. What happened to the 2 minute offense Franklin ran at the end of the 2nd quarter?

    5. Turnovers as usual were key in this game as they were in last years

    6. Franklin fans looked stupid in Camo an Black. Wear your school colors

    7. Franklin has more talent - Brentwood is a better team

    8. Brentwood's coach is better

    9. Both teams will play again in the playoffs

most of the posts on this topic are hilarious.

I disagree with most of your points but # 6,7, 9 who cares what the fans wear, Crawford is the best coach, and they will both be in the playoffs. But the rest is bull. There was no panic button pushed, rebels ONLY had 45 seconds left in the game that doesnt leave you with a whole lot of options. BHS's defense is outstanding. Franklin DID play 4 quarters and was always in the game. It was an outstanding night of football that could have gone either way but lets call it what it is both teams are high quality teams that I feel one of them will be in Murfreesboro and either one of them can bring home the gold ball good luck to both teams as the regular seasons comes closer to an end and the playoffs are here.

  16. The very thought of Franklin beating Brentwood by 14 is a "wishful" thinking at best. BHS's Defense is stellar against the run, and was even able to handle the potent speed of a team like Centennial on the outside. I almost feel like the one loss against Ravenwood has qualifies the bruins as a second-rate team (tell that to Brentwood Academy... and nearly MBA) I would like to remind everyone that Brentwood is one of the best teams in the region and arguably in the mid-state. Brentwood was classified as the region-6(5A) front-runner. So if anyone is counting BHS out of the game before they have even arrived at the stadium...is out of their mind.

Brentwood is one of the most-well-balanced teams putting shoulder pads on when Friday night arrives. Coach Crawford will have his soldiers ready to march to war when the lights come on at Howard Gamble Stadium. Brentwood had their world rocked against Ravenwood, but the wake-up call was one of the best things that could have happened to BHS. The bruins bounced back against a superb Seigal team. The Franklin arrogance is nauseating, and Brentwood would be more than happy to "rock-Franklin's-world", and they will be ready to do just that...come Friday!

Franklin is about to receive one heckuva wake-up call

Outstanding and so very true post.

Franklin won't be stopped by Brentwood!

Franklin won't be stopped by Brentwood!

Oh but you were!!! I bet that offense had nightmares last of that BHS defensive line!!!
