NC had a 42-0 lead @ half against ER and late in the 2nd half it was 55-0 and I left, so the final may have been worse.

I can't remember how the district finished up last year, but know NC finished near the bottom. For this season, NC has lost their leading scorer to graduation, and their PG moved and changed schools. However, I think they win twice as many games as they did last year. A couple of Freshmen and a couple of Sophomores should lead this team. Yes, they are young, but this group will be aggressive. Should be a fun year!
Hard to see them doing much losing those two but it would be nice since they haven't made much noise in about 6 or 7 years.

Can't wait to see the NCS homecoming game next week against ER.
If Week 10 sees JB vs a 8-1 NC team I might make the trip to go see that game.

Do ya'll change helmet design's every year?
Haha, I doubt it changes now when this helmet seems to bring success lol.

Thats what I like to hear.

I'll take NC 23-13 tonight over WHH

mghelmets.com desrevesthe credit on the helmets. I had NC added in the offseason, but I think both helmets have changed. If they have changed and you can get a pic of them tonight, post them and I'll send them to the guy.
The NC helmet has changed, here is a picture from this season, it might be hard to see but the helmet has a orange stripe down the middle and blue on both sides of the orange

NC has a solid core of player who haven all been getting solid PT since their sophomore years on the team that went to regions.
Could be an interesting year in 10A behind CA.

Having only seen NCS play once and not seeing WHH play at all. I'll say NC by 5-10. I'd go higher but it is a short week and @ WHH.
I'd love to see this game but can't afford to drive down from Chatt and then be back friday morning in time for classes.

As a NC graduate last year (not a football player though, I made my living on the hardwood) I gotta say I am proud to see some of my friends doing this well. They are showing the potential they had for a while.

I don't know where districts are but I do know that if 9/10A still follow the rotating schedule it is at a 10A school (regions that is)

I'll just speak from my own experience from MS/HS Ball.
I played ball from 5th grade through 11th and quit before my senior year. I never have regretted it, I am only a freshman in college so I might later but as of now, not once. Basically my life in HS was ball then school not the other way around. It was "open gyms" very strongly (almost mandatory for non-football players) encouraged by the coach. Practices from the 1st day of legal practices until late Feb. - Early March. Then we got about 2 weeks off before off season lifting started. Do that for a bit, then its the summer ball circuit where we would all be on the same team since none of us were good enough to be play college ball so we just worked on the HS plays, etc...
It got to the point where one day I specifically remember during the summer before my senior year started. It was our 1st practice of the summer and I woke up, and took a shower. I remember when I got out of the shower I looked myself in the eye in the mirror and said, "Do I want to give 100% this year?" The answer? "No" So I drove to practice, turned in my jerseys and told coach that I respected all that he had done in making me a better player and a better man but that I couldn't give 100% this season so I had to step aside.
Again, this is just my story. For every kid it is different. This was just an 18 year old guy's point of view.

How do you see the district playing out as far as returning players, new players, or the loss of players to graduation?
As a NC alum and basketball player I'd love to see them play well this year but I don't know how they will fare. I think everyone agrees (or should) that CA runs away with the district. Undefeated through the 10A schedule if they are focused for each game.

NCS looked great against Summertown and should be considered a threat to win it all.

Glad to see 10A show up, CA will go to state and MC has a very good chance to have 25% of the final 8 be from 10A.
-
McEwen will be the only team from 10A to win a game in round 1.

Anyone know any results yet?
ER wins 49-43.
Game was tied after 1st Q, tied after 2nd Q and WHH was up 2 after 3rd Q, ER outscored WHH 13-5 in the final 8 minutes.
CA wins 10A by beating MC 61-44.
Malcolm Smith had 19 and twin Martin had 14.

Heritage never wins big games. The senior PG did not even score last night,I wouldn't be surprised if ER wins tonight.I know Petrone knows the game but in my opinion the kids play too tight for him. They just don't seem to be comfortable shooting the ball, maybe he should be a little more positive, some kids react differently to being yelled at all the time, there is a fine line between having control over your team and letting go enough to instill confidence in your players.
10A Consolation Game @ 5:30pm at Jo Byrns
#4 East Robertson Indians vs #2 White House Heritage Patriots
10A Championship Game @ 8:30pm at Jo Byrns
#3 McEwen Warriors vs #1 Clarksville Academy Cougars
My predictions are ER over WHH by 7 and CA over MC by 13.

NCS tips off tomorrow at home against USN.
Should be interesting to see how they mesh since the football players just ended their season last friday.
