when talking about the state tourny you always have to include the golden eagles of Grace Academy. with Patrick shaughnessy- a 6'9 big man going d1 to charlston southern with arms like pythons, he is a prolific shot blocker. Brandon Herman- 6'1 shooting gaurd who can shoot your eyes out and has the ability to put up 30 every night he broke the school record at Grace with 45psts,and he is in the top5 in scoring in chattanooga averaging 21ppg, and Fuquan Harper running a 4.5 40yrd dash and leading the team in assists his cat like reflexes are almost unmatchable and last but not least Terrell church- he can shut down any body in the city and probably the state on defense he is verry quick and can take it strong to the basket, he helped grace defeat temple by holding james kemp to 3 pts. KEY: if Graces incredable athletes play together as a team they have the ability to beat any team in the state!

thank you our boys deserve a great home court addvantage they have had a bumpy year but i think if our students get behind them like we did anythings possible with all the talent on the floor. and yes they were but im sure its hard when you dont have a called offense and no communication!! but they are getten it, better late than never right?

first of all #24 aka b-ha, was amazing on defense and is the one of the best sg in the city he striped the ball from sexton at the most critical moment in the game! 2nd its hard to pass the ball when the entire defense collapses on pat. in order to free up our post at times brandon is forced to take contested shots. 3rd i like the mohawk and star its awsome! 4th stop crying about the student section its part of the game ,deal with it!!! i am in the student section at grace and i appolgize if anyone was offended by us but i truley do not care /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> i love being loud and unruley its fun bring on the district!! GO EAGLES!!!!

Grace graduated Hankins and Wannamaker. Both started the last two seasons. Also, Lipps was a two year starter until after Christmas when Williams began to start contributing and Lipps became 6th man. Grace has three very good players back and should be near the top in single A in East TN.....

Grace, Temple, Silverdale, David Brainerd.....Looks like another good year for Disctrict 5A!!!

no doubt grace takes it this year they are too quick and too physical to be stopped!

The new head coach is David Pack. He won a bunch of games while serving as HC at CPA.

 

I know one of his assistants is Bill Whittemore. He played high school football at Brentwood prior to signing to play college ball at UT-Martin. He then later finished his college career at Kansas where he won Big XII newcomer of the year and directed the Jayhawks to what was formerly known as the "Carquest Bowl" where they played the Phillip Rivers led NC State Wolfpack football team.

how do they match up against chattanooga grace?

I'm not going to say a score, but it looks like Grace is much stronger and I haven't seen much improvement on the Seahawks side. However, SD has built a respectable program and have great coaches and support, so they definitely can't be overlooked. On paper, Grace has it easy though.

will sd have any new players step up and make it interesting tho or is this just gonna be bad for the hawks?

...Hughes has not been tested...his teammates maybe ready but he has not been in any "big" games...let him get through the 2008 schedule and Region 3-2A...after Oct. 31st you might have an argument but at this stage.....

I saw them play last season , the kids looked like 8th graders and not many on the side lines.

Good thing they got a good punter, he might need backup

they went 3-7 last year and second to last in there region but is that becouse they play a healthy schedule ? they have a new coach who is supposed to be good

not only is hughes healthy but nason and gilley are older and stronger and they return alot of other good seniors at skill positions to assist hughes
