  1. Huh? Can't run the ball? Course, Westview played with three down linemen...almost like they were asking USJ to run. O, and USJ defense showed up to play. On every drive but one, they stuffed the run and covered the pass. Would've been a larger margin had the first offense been left in for the 4th quarter. Regardless, good job to both teams. Westview's fullback is a hoss.
  2. Husker, you're just an idiot. Calls were blown yes, but they were calls that shoulda been pass interference on Milan. Probably 5-6 times. And what would you have done different on defense? Hmmm? Wait, don't answer that. I don't think I can handle anymore of your spew.
  3. 5 wins is hardly lucky. Usj has played more than one team with confirmed DI prospects, and beaten em both, convincingly. And USJ's "weak D" held the Briarcrest offense to 0 points through 3 and a half quarters. Granted, the Briarcrest running game isn't nearly that of Milan's. But calling the defense weak is a bit much.
  4. I think the Bruins finding a way to slow down the run while still respecting the passing game will be a big part of the game, but I really think the Milan secondary have the crucial role this game. They'll have to step it up if they don't want the Bruin's offense to walk all over them like they did with Briarcrest. 48-0 run after the first two Briarcrest scores, with 4 Tds in the second quarter. It'll be a good game me thinks.
  5. If you would type in coherent sentences it would be a lot easier to respond. As it is I'm not exactly sure what you're saying.
  6. No one has been arguing his natural ability. I agree. He's very good. My argument started with the comment "Two words....Jabriel Washington." I have trouble believing that he can single-handedly beat USJ, or any halfway decent team for that matter. I give him due credit.
  7. Camps = games amirite? If he's getting offers based on a combine or two, that shows he has some athleticism. But that doesn't mean anything when it comes down to it. You can't throw or run the ball when you're on your back. We'll see how he plays next friday.
  8. Simply put, they won't. And if for some reason Trinity starts dropping linebackers to help out on the pass, the USJ veteran offensive line and backs will punish them for it. I'm feeling a bunch of big plays in this game for USJ.
  9. Alright no more bashing, I'm now gonna be serious. I'm picking USJ in this one because of the inexperience of TCA. The only key player that is new for USJ is Jake Overbey at QB, and I'm pretty sure with his nearly fully senior O-line, and his veteran group of recievers, he'll do ok. As I said earlier, he's got help from two all-state caliber wideouts with Austin M. and Danny S., and his older brother Preston and the simply amazing Dusty Bright at TE and slot respectively. Only question mark really for USJ is the D-line. Though, I think against a similarly sized and slower O-line from TCA, they get the checkmark on this one. O..and by the way, you serious about Austin Whitsitt making big plays? Hah! As the poster stated above me, he'd be on third string right now if he were still at USJ, or backing up Jake Overbey at QB. O, and GCpioneer, if by high caliber you mean overrated, then yes, we haven't had a high caliber player in awhile. I know of a few kids on the USJ team who have more athletic ability in them then Jabriel will have when he's their age. USJ just happens to get more than one athlete every decade, so we don't hype them up as much as Jabriel has been.
  10. Furthermore, to the rude fellow posting that USJ's backs are laughable in comparison to the great J.W., I would be willing to wager that at least one of them has posted a faster 40 time than Jabriel, the "highly recruited", "heck of an athlete".
  11. Put Jabriel against real athletes and see how he does. 1A is not impressive. I'm not arguing that the kid is not a good athlete, far from it. He's a great athlete. But he is just that, an athlete. After watching some tape of him playing QB recently, I honestly don't think he can carry that TCA team, which is what they're gonna need him to do if they wanna beat any halfway decent teams. Maybe when he's a senior, but right now? No. Post some videos of him trying to run the ball against athletes of his caliber, which you won't find in 1A. Its easy to look good when you're running against teams such as there are in 1A. And as far as him going to georgia? HAH! I can't form an adequate response to that stupidity just yet. I hope you're not basing that on just the comment on the youtube vid. And if it is true that georgia is recruiting him, then I'm not really worried about my Vol's chances of beating them for the SEC title this year.
  12. Is that serious? This kid's overratedness is insane. As is that word I just made up. Yes, he's an athlete. But no, he is not that good. He can't throw as well as USJ's Jake Overbey, and he can't run as well as USJ's backs. His recievers aren't nearly as good as USJ's, who is returning two All-state caliber wideouts in Danny Smigelski and Austin Martindale. Danny actually made all-state last year, and Austin had 8 fewer yards than Danny did for that year.
