  1. I was wondering how the Dragons season was going, who they played next, and how everyone was playing??? Also where do they stand in the district 7AA and whos leading the district?
  2. great outfielder, solid arm, loads of power, and can float around the bases need i say more???
  3. District 7AA is having a great year this year but one player has been overlooked. Marcus Mathews of York Institute had one of the best years I have ever heard of. The dragons .500 record has caused several to over look this player. Mathews hit .607 with 18 doubles, and 3 triples. That is most folks whole high school career. Mathews was not even looked at for district MVP. While I do understand the fact that Copeland had a great year and lead his team to the regular season district championship, but most valuable player is not a measure of a teams record but a measure of a players value to his team. The truth is when voting for the honor came up York's coach would not even mention his batting average becuase of a fear of other teams not pitching to him in the playoffs. Yes, .607 in district 7AA may look blown out of proportion, but when the next higher batting average in the district is around .415 that means almost .200 points. I won't even mention the fact that over the entire season he only struck out once. Now why does a fact like this overlooked, this fan can not figure out, and why no scouts or college coaches are even talking to him boggles the mind. This player would be a valuable hitter to any team. Please let this terrible fact go unnoticed no longer. For information on Marcus Mathews call coach Greg Qualls at York Institute in Jamestown, TN
  4. hey guys dont look now but ive noticed later on you guys play franklin co. there 17-2 right now. so you guys better be getting ready for a good team to come in to town.

  7. lynardskynard (great name), just curious where you coach? and Sam Beaty did coach softball before he retired about 4 years ago. he was a great coach from the people ive talked too. and he probably gave me the best advice i have ever recived. ps: i think the dragons have two big district games this week Dekalb and Baxter Good luck in both.
  8. so when is yorks first game? and when do you guys play baxter or anyone else near cookeville? [Edited by dingerbat on 3-20-03 9:21P]

  12. oh yeah yorks middle infield is loaded. not only can those guys hit they can field there position with the best of them. hows pratice going adam? leave me a post on here.
  13. no i dont play for york anymore but i like to hear how there doing and would like to know how pratice is going (hint, hint blakely, marcus, anyone). yeah but i talk to huddleston this summer and he said he was feeling better. im pretty sure hes playing for vol state but im not positive. anyway i just like to hear how there doing and if they are going to be any good.
  14. well im just trying to see what everyone looks like. i do remember the Farr kid he was the only power hitter i was actually worried about last year. Livingston should have a good team both there best pitchers are back.(i think)Also Cannon Co. should be a team to watch out for there coach was voted coach of the year last year and they had a pretty young team. either way this year should be interesting.
  15. Actually york lost both its best pitchers but i was also wondering about other teams. 031653 are you from dekalb? What is your team going to be like this year? What other teams are out there?
  16. Well how do you guys think York Institute will fair in district 7AA? They only lost 3 Seniors. So they will have a lot of starters coming back. And I think there working very hard. How do all the other teams in District 7aa look too. [Edited by dingerbat on 2-8-03 6:10P]
