  1. You guys are homers. You are looking through tainted glasses. The best shortstops will be between the Washington County Schools and Tennessee High. Connell at Boone, Tarlton at Crockett, Thompson at Science Hill, and Payne at Tennessee High. 2 sophomores. Roberts and Crawford make too many errors. And don't give me those numbers that your guys keep. I am saying shortstop not batter. These four will lead the league in outs made versus errors made.

I saw Roberts make 5 errors in one game last year. Crawford tries to overthrow everything. Both are good and will make great plays but will make more errors than a shortstop should make.

So you're pretty much answering who the best fielders are. Not shortstops. I may be wrong but last time I checked, doesn't being a good player no matter what the position require you to be able to hit too?

  2. Way to say it there Honky Tonk Man , I'm glad somebody is finally giving this young man some cred . 2nd in the league in batting avg. last year , All Conference , All Region , and All State selection from Volunteer as a catcher with a near 4.0 GPA . He is heading to Milligan . Also , Justin Trent from Dobyns Bennett , 1st baseman .

Hudson didn't make all state so I don't know who or what your source is but thats definately wrong. And as far as 2nd in the league in batting last year, that was Cody Hyden from Central.

  3. What is your pick on this game? And did anyone see the jamboree where Unicoi played amazing and beat West Greene 22-2? Their defense is amazing. The starters didnt even play but 5 minutes. So who do yall think will win this Hall of Fame game being held at Unicoi friday night?

Did you not go to the Central scrimmage? Central had 92 and their starters didn't even play the 3rd quarter.

  4. Look here PlayFearless, whomever you may be! I'm happy with my current school, as I probably don't fit in with the large crowds of a large university. I'm just a big fish in a small pond! Tell ya what, let's put aside our schoolastic differences and join forces. I think Coach t could use an enforcer like yourself.

    Schoolastic isn't a word.

  5. I believe if Central plays TEAM ball they can hang with anybody in the Big 9. They are returning 4 starters from last year and should have a good JR starting on the wing. He will have to play under control to fit in with the rest. The posts can hold thier own and the guards will have to shoot well. This can ALL be done if Coach V will allow it. The depth shouldn't be a problem either, they have a couple of good posts, a shooting guard, and a point guard that can play also. Can't wait until bball season to see what unfolds.

I think every team in the BIG 9 have a couple of good posts, a shooting guard, and a point guard, just saying. But Central does have a VERY good chance to win the district. And I also think that the Science Hill vs Central games will be the most interesting in the conference.

  6. Central really had that game won last night. They ran the ball extremely well and had 3 touchdowns called back. After that game it's safe to say this isn't gonna be the Central team we've been accustom to seeing these past couple of years.

  7. What is up in the Cougar den as of late? I assume they did some preseason scrimmmage but I'm not seeing any posts on performance. Is there no interest there? The last I heard they were trying to turn that place into a truck stop. I was out of town and missed the news on how the jamboree went. Can anyone tell me how they looked? Oh by the way, I did find it SIMPLY AMAZING that they have a player being so heavily recruited by Ivy League colleges. How does an Ivy League recruiter skip so many states between their school and BLOUNTVILLE TN to find a player. I was so curious that the worst team in the MLC could have such a great player. I guess that talent is hidden behind the rest of the teams lack of. After investigating stats from last year its somewhat evident that the Ivy League schools are not recruiting him, there really isn't anything there, (4th ranked reciever on worst ranked team), but perhaps someone from "CAMP C" is promoting their own (again). Ouchie....

  8. There has been wonderful talent at Central for years. Just look at how the two middle schools perform. Both schools have had winning teams for years. Many of the last few years they have been undefeated. It's shameful that so much talent has gone to waste or dropped by the wayside. What happens to all these great players? Do they somehow turn into terrible players? Or, are the coaches terrible? I dunno. Can someone clear this up?

Alot of players are 3 sport stars in middle school and i think some of the good football players get the idea that they are better in another sport and just want to concentrate on that so they quit football. But they have alot of talent this year and they have everyone healthy which is a change. So i'm expecting atleast 4 or 5 wins this year from the cougars.
