  1. What about "I'm going to bash your face in"? Can we use it in that context? lol
  2. Jordan is a class act dispite what rumors you might have heard. I'm glad that people have started to realize that for themselves instead of just assuming everything they have heard is true. If he and the rest of the Greene Devils keep doing the right things both on and off of the field the tide will eventually turn in their favor. I firmly believe that. Hope that South puts on a clinic for the rest of the season and we get to meet them later on down the road. I'm sure it will be another exciting chapter in this rekindled rivalry.
  3. Haha...CoachT is my anger management because having Chem and Biology in the same semester BLOWS!!! This whole "actually having to study" thing is really getting in the way of whats important, like; NCAA 09', food, girls, sleep, and watching College Gameday. It seriously is weird having academics as a first priority instead of sports though, and I'm sure that NoOnesFool has had a recent shift in priorities as well, haha. But seriously...after 30 some odd years of putting up with punks like me and you can you blame him? I mean seriously? And Barb don't act like you wouldn't enjoy a good round of kum-bay-yah,LoL, i know your not nearly as mean as you like to try to make yourself out to be you football deciphering guru you. haha
  4. That is a very true statement...I don't think I can side agianst you on that one. We're kinda off topic though, but so is this. Question for the South faithful and followers of their rising star; what is the predicted situatioin for Mr.Phillips up in Madison over the next season or so? I though I caught wind that the QB race was not going quite as they expected it to. Any chance he can enter into that race before the end of the season?
  5. The term down year differs for an average highschool team and a dynasty, LoL, that is for sure. What i mean is they are beatable, more so than they have in the past five or six years.
  6. And the most ironic part of it all is that the very same Coach who enlightend me with that interesting little phylosophy was once adorned in the proud maroon of TN High (and is also in the National Wrestling Hall of Fame). Pretty sound advice in my opion...but you know what they say about opinions.
  7. My point is...what does it matter who has more teams get out of the first round of the playoffs if we can not advance past the semi-finals year in and year out? We should thank one another for bringing our level of play up, which we are hopefully doing, because if not for great competition we would be falling behind the rest of the state, and nation, like so many other doubters from outside the area already say. A great coach once told me that if you don't ever wrestle/play anybody better than you then you will never get any better. It's a pretty simple concept. I thank Sullivan South and its apparent plethra of athletes for forcing us to have to better ourselves year in and year out in order to keep up, somebody has to set the pace. So why spend time blasting one another? It would be nice to focus on the big picture; the playoffs and its beloved child Maryville, who by the way is down this year /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  8. No...I love how we bicker amongst ourselves about who the superior confrence is. Too bad all of that will have to end next year with the reclassification. Tell me Cap1, since you seem to be pretty well aquainted with your stats of seasons past, when was the last time a team from either of our conferences was crowned state champions?
  9. I have not been able to make it back yet to check out Burley's facelift. So I'm not really at liberty to either agree nor disagree with you, but according to word-of-mouth I would say you've hit the nail on the head. BUT...if I were to make a blind assessment, I would have to say that the 08' Greene Devils are going through an identity crisis. Last season it seemed as though we were a team that rested upon a sound defense that would bend but normally not break, and find someway to get our offense back on the field. We probably were not as talented as a majority of the teams we lined up against, but we knew our role within our team and we normally found a way to fulfill it. I think it's just a matter of time until a unit or individual steps up and takes this lead role. There are leaders in that locker and it will happen. Conflict is a true test of unity and has a way of bringing people, especially teams, together.
  10. I agree...usually the best lessons are learned through your mistakes, and i feel confident that there aren't any mistakes going unnoticed by Coach McCurrry and the staff at the moment. I have faith in the team and our coaching staff. We'll be there when it counts. And Hoss...why does it matter? It's not like I have alot of misleading screen names that are going to deceive anybody...LoL
  11. I said nothing about when that potential would or needs to be met...LoL. The guys need to stay focused and composed while keeping the big picture in mind, which is playing ball in November. But at the same time so do the fans, take it from me...it's awful hard to believe in yourself when no one else does. Constructive critisism is one thing, but kicking a man while he is down is another.
  12. They returned almost all of their skill positions, but lost 8 starters on the defensive side of the ball. There is potential there...i swear, it's just a question as to when they will meet that potential. Afterall, they do have a better record going into the game than we did last year. LoL
  13. Daniel Boone has beaten Greeneville THREE consecutive years. I hear all the sportscasters talking about Maryville saying that you can't pick against them until they lose. Well...I say the same in this case. The Devils have something to prove to themselves tomorrow night. I believe in them, now it's time for them to believe in themselves and make a stand. They need to prove to the rest of the East Tenn football community that they are for real. P.S. Why the white jerseys at home against Jeff?
  14. Oh i was referring to the gentleman on this thread who is actually retired...LoL
  15. LoL...this guy is probably mad because his girlfriend would rather come watch Greeneville play. I hear alot of those pretty little county girls are finding their way into Burley stadium on Friday nights.
