  1. Springhill was not prepared for the game at all. Lexington shut down the running game and you would think Springhill would go to the air, but they continued to try and run, Who was calling these plays? Anyone watching the game could see they had to go to the air. Congratulations to Lexington for a game well played.

  2. Coach herzog who now coaches at Page is a great coach, he is no dummy to the game, and He will do everything possible to shut down spring hill and their key Players. Coach herzog coached at Springhill in the 90's and I hated to see him go. Everyone will have to step it up this week, #71 the right tackle who has been playing well all year from what I have seen, needs to continue this week, he has the size and is quick off the ball. The Quarterback needs to make great plays this week and no mistakes. The receivers needs to catch the ball as they have been doing all year. Now, Springhill coaching staff if also impressive, I believe coach scharsh will have his team ready and pumped up, and Springhills defense needs to come in game mode. They have done a good job this year. I will take Spring hill by 10. GO RAIDERS :thumb:

  3. I say SH by 14. they have a very good team this year. The O line did not give up at Giles County. They played their hearts out. Giles was just a little bit better and the help from the referees didnt hurt. SH runs the ball better than they throw the ball and that is a fact. So you need to give the entire team kudos for the way they have been playing not just one player. You have a great team with good lineman, running backs and receivers and I hope you do well this year. GO RAIDERS

  4. if you want to talk about class then the mustangs don't have it... this was the one team that ran there mouth most against the raiders this year. and lipscomb had at least 3 personal fouls called on them just for un sportsman like conduct

david lipscomb does not have the advantages you would think at all. i would be will to bet that spring hill has a much bigger workout facility. if you have ever seen lipscombs you no it is small. yes there is no zone for the kids who go to lipscomb but parents do not send there child to lipscomb for sports ever. also you cant point out a starter on the lipscomb team who has not been at lipscomb since early middle school (Rogers came in 5th grade and had never previously played football). spring hill will improve next year but based on the past two years i cant imagine them being a threat but i do think they will win more than 1 game.

you are right, spring hill did score 20 against us. but if you remember correctly the score was 35-0 at the early part of the 2nd quarter. and the score was 48-8 when lipscomb pulled there starters so the final two scores came on the mustangs jv. i saw about 3 or 4 of the mustangs starters off on the sidelines with their pads off and icing when the game still had about 8 min left. so yes the raiders did score twenty on the mustangs but when the lipscomb starters were pulled the score was 48-8. i will say again the raiders will have a better team next year than this one. i think they will win at least 3 more games than this year. but if your trying to say offensively the raiders had a good night against the mustangs that in incorrect. anyone at that game (which i was) will tell you the same.

i dont see why everyone picks on lipscomb for being private. there really is not any advantages for them. any child on financial aid is not permitted to play sports which is why they do not belong in d2. the mustangs athletes really are not much better than spring hills. the mustangs just have possibly the best coaching staff in the state. you take both of these teams as they are and switch the coaching staffs spring hill would win with the mustangs coaching staff. lipscomb does not make fundimental mistakes which is why they always seem to win. and win they win they do it with class and honor. there is no reason to bash the school for being private just because you cant beat them.

  5. I agree with you, The baseball team may be one of the football teams biggest supports at the pep rallys, but on monday mornings the comments they hear from the baseball team is 'YOU GUYS stink'. what is with that. Do you think they dont know they stunk on friday night, but you just have to jab a little more. i have never seen a school where there is so much animosity between the two sports. You are supposed to be supported of each other, you know you can blame the football team for not winning, but for the last 4 years, they were not coached and that is a fact. They had no work ethic, or was never taught displine, so who is to blame the players???? I dont think so, think about it, if you didnt have a good baseball coach for the last 4 years, where would you be???. Would you like to hear everytime you lost, that you stunk!!!! I dont think so, nobody needs to be told that. WAKE UP, YOU BOTH WANT THE SAME THINGS.

  6. Stinks is watching them blow away a chance at the playoffs. Stinks referred to watching a team with so much potential not utilize it. Stinks is actually having pride in your school the 4 years you were there even when they went 0-10, 7-5, 1-9, and who knows about this year. Stinks wasn't bashing the team at all.

I have Lord knows how many friends on that team. I'm one of the few people at school who will tell you that we're good but we just haven't shown it yet.

66...why the heck do you constantly bring up baseball?? This is the football board, right? I come on here and support Spring Hill football just like you do, I just happen to say critical things. Yes, I am a baseball player and yes my number is 27...Look for me at the next game, I'll probably be wearing my jacket, but apparently you already know who I am. /huh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="huh.gif" /> I don't play football because I have no desire to play football and I see no problem with that. I was going to play my Junior year, but decided against it. Not because it was too hard, but because I have goals for myself and my team that I felt I needed to work for in baseball and playing football would have taken me away from that.

    To add on to this...

The baseball player/football player little rivalry needs to stop. I don't/haven't understood it the whole time I've been at Spring Hill. The baseball players are probably the most active students at the pep rallies and such, and you see more football players at baseball games than any other sport...so why the hate amongst each other?

  7. Can anyone from Spring Hill confirm my notes to be correct:

    Top offensive weapons

    Broc Loveless

    Jamal Pride

    Travis Carter

    Xavier Lee

    Kyle Flowers

    Top defensive weapons

    Alan Beasley

    Thad Furtaw

    Kicker

    Tim Saye

    Head Coach

Jason Scharsch (1st Year): previous head coach at Eagleville & also coached at Riverdale under Gary Rankin.

I WISH I HAD MORE BUT WITH THE NEW STAFF & SO MANY SECRETS WITHIN THE REGION I KNOW THAT THERE ARE GOING TO BE SOME THINGS I WILL NOT BE TOLD ABOUT. THAT'S COOL!!!

You are only as good as the O LINE blocking for you. As far as the defense, they need to make some changes.

  8. MTF,

You are correct!. The KO return was a momentum killer.

If SH could play a whole game like the 2nd Qtr., then who knows /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" They might surprise some folks.

Your numbers on the skilled players are pretty correct. They need more 50's, 60's, and 70's type numbers to do their job. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

There are alot more skilled players on that team with 50's, 60's and 70 numbers. They need to hit, if they cant block or hit then find someone on the team that can, I would like to know why the big boys are not on defense? the biggest kid on the team is 71 and he only played offense?

  9. Spring Hill wins this one. They will not be in awe at Columbia Central's talent that's for sure. Alcoa has already presented the Raiders with a challenge that they'll not see again this year.

You are 100% right.. Spring hill will not face another team like alcoa this year. Alcoa would beat anyone on Spring hill's schedule by 20 or 30 points. Coach Scharsh will have these boys work hard this week and they will beat central. All that he asks for is all you have. Spring hill will shock alot of people this year and that will start with central.
