  1. Another great game to watch.  Two evenly matched teams, lots of offense, nice drives. Congrats to the Panthers on the win, your ground game was great mixed with some timely passes got you the points you needed to get the win.  The two turnovers really hurt Macon and probably cost the Tigers the game. The turnover in the 3rd quarter when it looked as Macon would score was a killer, but the big one, is of course, was the one at the end of the 1st half that gave PHS the lead when the score was MC 13-12. But it's the series of events that led up to that turnover that is grounds for a ride in the rubber truck. The coaches will have to live with the insane decision to throw a deep ball with only 9 seconds left on your own 30 yard line and getting intercepted for a TD :o , instead of the more wise and conventional call of taking a knee and then the lead into the locker room at the half. Instead it's a PHS 18-13 lead at the half.  I just don't get it.

  2. Carlisle was impressive , especially in running the football , good vision and football savy , many times the Jackets over pursued on defense and he was very patient and waited to get a seam and pick up yardage. I don't know the make

up of your team , but with him only being a sophomore it looks like Macon County will be a tough team in the future. I really like the atmosphere at your stadium , right on top of the action , not a fan of the more modern stadiums with a track around the field. I hope when we move to the new stadium in a few years that it won't have a track around it. Good luck to the Tigers the rest of the way.

Thanks for the comments Leon, we certainly treasure the young man.  I will credit your Jacket's defensive pressure along with some good pass coverage with giving our passing game a hard time.  The stadium is cozy, and it has been there a good long time.  With a little more room on the visitor's sideline for the boys, and a row or two more seats on that side and it would be about right.  Thanks again, and good luck to you guys.

  3. I can't compare everbody to us "pc" because everybody's not us and I realize that everybody match up different. I see so people talking about springfield on here and some people say we just alike but if where alike why we are not playing alike? What's the big difference? I know one thing that it seems like our defense I way better but that can be deceptive.

FBfan26, I'm not sure I can say they are like you, except in their speed at the skill positions. I thought Springfield's defense is also speedy and can bring some intense pressure with their rush.  Kevin38 probably summed it up best with the size advantage to PC.  I have had a hard time judging the outcome of certain games this year and have been thoroughly surprised more than once this season.  You guys took us to the woodshed at PC and we played a very good game against the Jackets at home, and that may be, as you said, credited to the PC defense.  Both PC and Springfield have played tough schedules against some good teams, with similar outcomes against district opponents, except for just a couple. Macon's matchup is one of them that was quite different. I think the matchup between PC and Springfield should be a good one. I'll probably give PC the edge with that game being played at home.

  4. A dandy of a game to watch, TONS of action!  Lots of offense... not so much defense. Springfield has a great looking team.  Dangerous and hard to stop on offense. Good night for your skill players especially.  Your RB #23 has some fantastic speed and an instinctive runner, along with your QB.  Some power runners there too with speed also.  A great looking WR in #20 who had a very good game.  The Tigers played great just couldn't get that tying score at the end. Our QB #15 had an outstanding game with 245 yards on the ground. An absolute great game to watch.  I do have to question that 4th down try on your own 45 with 4:00 or so to go, that let the Tigers get to within 7, Hmmmmm  Good luck down the road. Should be a good game with Pearl Cohn.

  5. A pretty good game to watch in the rain.  The field looked to be in pretty good shape considering.  Both offenses moved the ball pretty well most of the night.  Too many untimely holding calls against the Tigers put some decent drives in reverse and made them unmanageable.  White House looked well disciplined except for the personal foul early, but they cleaned that up.  The interception in the end zone on the opening drive dampened some spirits for the Tigers after marching down the field.  Maybe have to question that call of throwing a fade pass into a stiff breeze on the pick play...hmmmm.  .  Defenses were ok.  Tigers blew a coverage on a streak that resulted in an early TD for White House.  What a kicker WH has!!!  Some leg on that guy and some nice field goals to push WH out of reach.  Fun game to watch.

  6. I'm not going to compare QB's.  DC's QB was a little banged up obviously.  Macon QB finished with 256 yards on 11 carries with 5 touchdowns. A great game for young Carlisle and the MC Tigers.  Another tough one awaits next week.  Good luck to DC the rest of the season.

  7. Solid game for the Tigers.  The running game had great success opening big holes for the RB and QB to exploit.  There were several long runs 15+ yards.  The Defense did a great job of containing Maplewood's speed and bottling them up for most of the night. Well done gentlemen!  That being said, this did not seem like your typical Maplewood team.  They didn't seem to play with the confidence and swagger like we are used to seeing from that team.  They have some great looking kids, but just couldn't put a lot together tonight.  Good luck down the road Maplewood. Great job again by the Tigers!

  8. Is it me or are the boards unusually quiet for the start of a football season?  Maybe the verdict is still out on some teams and folks aren't sure what to expect.  I sure don't.  I hope a good game is in store, but I am a little uneasy about MC's defense.  The difference in 1st and 2nd halves was like a Jekyl and Hyde performance against Smith Co.  So I'm going to have to say

    Westy 24

    MC 21

  9. It should have benn 21 nothing at the half but a holding call kept that from happening along with about 150 more yards of penalty's the tigers shot themselves in the foot with.Bottom line at halftime with a 14 point lead the tigers went to the locker room and had milk and cookies and smith county ate gun powder and come out in the second half and whipped mc tail.

And now you know...the rest of the story...good day!
