  1. Y. Woods football this year. Supposedly "moved" but he only "moved" because Rector wasnt going to let him play at CHS because of a summer mistake the kid made that didnt reflect wll on the program. The sad thing is that Clayton knew about it and still started the kid. Opened himself up to show even more lack of chracter as a coach.

There were a couple last year, skill position players. Heck, I remember a newspaper article from about 5 years ago where your coach joked about beating Centennial with their own players. Denying Centennial players at FHS is stupid. It has happened repeatedly, for years.

Your starting senior guard last year for basketball, cant remember his name, as well as the 6th man, both Centennial zoned.

I think it has pretty much been stopped, but it has been a huge problem for years. But denying it happened is flat out dumb.

Yameek Woods moved, but he was not "recruited". You are accusing Franklin of recruiting players, so answer the question!

I want names, not just vague allusions to a "few players". And if it has stopped then why are you complaining?

If we wanted to recruit, TJ Leach, Zach Patton, and Darius Steele would have been at Franklin. Because we could have asked them if they wanted to win or lose...

  2. I may not know much, but I do know how to read and this particular thread is labeled "Franklin?". Or am I mistaken? If I am mistaken please correct me. If Centennial wants to brag and prophecy about brighter days please start your own thread labeled "Centennial". But with all that said, "CHSTeamPlayer" until your high school 'walks the walk" please shut down the 'talk'. So do whatever you must to pass the time, but until next October you have no room to speak.

To be completely honest, I think if you couldn't do it this year you are going to have one heckuva wait. Centennial graduated a ton of talented/ dangerous seniors this year, which in my humble opinion they under-utilized. I know you are all excited that you went to the 5A playoffs. But you did it beating the likes of Shelbyville. You and I both know that Centennial's worth is measured by its' success against Brentwood & Franklin.

Thank you "CoachTForMe", because Centennial has forgotten that the Freshmen, Sophomore, and Junior classes dominated Centennial in both the freshmen & JV games. Where is this blessed future? But until next October, please talk amongst yourselves and fantasize until we come over to your stadium to extend the streak.

  3. C-C-CHS Nation, There is always two sides to every story...

The story all summer revolved around the arrival of Coach Brian "lil' Saban" Rector and his entourage onto the Cougar's Campus. He rode into town from his sabattical at Western Kentucky upon majestic steeds of past success and promises of future championships. He preached a gospel to the oppressed football program at Centennial that promised the land of "milk and honey". He spoke of bringing these children out of the "red-headed-step-child" role they had played over the past 13 years. And in all reality, who could oppose him? He had taken the upstart Ravenwood Raptors to the state finals twice, and won once. He was THE coach Rector... Many believed him to be the messiah of Centennial football. He brought words like "Character", "Commitment", and "Courage", he brought new uniforms, to the CHS community he brought hope... They say patience is a virtue, well the wait was supposed to be over.

Friday night August 28, 2011 revealed Rector to be a trickster Messiah as the other side of the story was shown to CHS nation. Once again Centennial is 0-1, and it appears to be the same song just a different verse. Regardless of a new look the Cougars still seemed sloppy on the field, and made the same mistakes that Centennial faithful have become accustomed too. I was under the impression that "Lil' Saban" was the remedy to these Friday night woes? Behind the guise of "Character, Commitment, Courage" many Centennial athletes littered the stands after Rector had called these 15, 16, and 17 kids "not-good-enough". Rector has taken groups of kids who chose to attend to CHS in order to stay with their friends; The same friends that they had played football with since the Franklin Cowboy ages and broke the kids up by declaring who was "in" and who was "out". Friday night found Rector's Cougars also deemed "not-good-enough", and after a loss to Overton High School (which nobody expected) "Lil' Saban" continued to assert his totalitarian regime... He proceeded to force the kids to line up across the goal line (in full pads & helmets) and tear into them over their performance for a solid 15 minutes. After which he made the broken team clean up the field (still in pads and helmets) while he retreated to his lair to marinate in his disgust. He sure dictated to those kids who was in charge. On Friday night Rector asserted his status as the "Mass'a" of Centennial High.

Maybe Rector's C-C-C was meant to represent the "Cleaning Cougar Custodians"

  4. Well folks, once again another regular season is drawing to a close and once again its coming down to Franklin & Brentwood for the district title. Franklin has not won the district since 2006. Brentwood has won 4 out of the last 5 in this series. Does Brentwood's tough schedule leave them battle tested and proven, or does it leave them bruised and weary? Does Franklin's cup-cake schedule leave them soft and over-confident or does it leave them fresh and revitalized? Either way both teams have circled this game on the calendar for quite some time, and its finally right around the corner...

  5. Well it finally time to stop talking about "09" because it is suddenly upon us. The future is here... and what does it hold? We have the Franklin Rebels going up against the Wildcats of BGA for the first week of the season. Some have called this the battle for Mack Hatcher, but many might think of this game as THE high school versus THE private school.

Its kind of odd being on this side of the argument...

  6. Alright boys and girls, ladies and gentlemen. It is officially game-day It is football time in Tennessee! You can not ask for more than this.

I took a few minutes this week to read and meditate on the "tag-teaming" comments from "RetiredRebel64" and "HoganKnows", and after much deliberation I stumbled upon my conclusion. "RetiredRebel64" is exactly what his name implies, he is a "retired" rebel. Meaning his years as a rebel have come and gone, and now he is trying to live vicariously through the 2008 team (because he could not get it done during his time). He is probably present at every Franklin game, and maybe...just maybe he gets a chance to work the "chain-gang" if Coach Clayton throws the veteran a bone. I would even go as far to group "HoganKnows" in the same box, they are more than likely two ex-bench-warmers who are still floating around Franklin sucking on Emperor Donnie Webb's ######.

Here is the problem Franklin, for the first time this year you all are a legitimate "under-dog", and that really gets under your skin. Everybody has picked you all to lose. The Tennessean picked Oakland, BigOnes has projected Oakland, and Oakland's players are getting all the press. All this pre-game hype is seriously eating away at you all isn't it Franklin? Oakland has been displayed as a physical powerhouse, they have flaunted this title all week long. All week long I suspected so much more from the Franklin Faithful, but they have run-away...in fear and realization of the future. Franklin is too busy worrying if Alex Ford can take the abuse?, will Keelo Lee be able to get outside?, will Nichols have time to drop back?, will our precious line be able to hold the flood-gates? Will our Defense match up?, are they big enough?, are they strong enough?, are they tough enough to play with these Oakland boys for 4 whole quarters? Franklin these questions will be answered soon enough...

    TOE-TO-TOE

    POUND-FOR-POUND

    ROUND-FOR-ROUND

    PUNCH-FOR-PUNCH

    POWER-VS-POWER

    SPEED-VS-SPEED

    WHO BLOCKS BETTER?

    WHO TACKLES BETTER?

    ADVANTAGE= OAKLAND

BECAUSE FRANKLIN FALLS SHORT IN EVERY CATEGORY

  7. Here is next year's schedule:

    Week 1 @ Antioch

    Week 2 @ Franklin

    Week 3 Smyrna

    Week 4 Independence

    Week 5 @ Overton

    Week 6 Brtentwood

    Week 7 Lawrence County

    Week 8 @ Ravenwood

    Week 9 @ Columbia

    Week 10 Hilsburo

If that is the schedule, then I will predict Centennial to be 5-5. Although that prediction might be a tad bit to generous for a team starting a questionable sophmore at Quarter-Back and placing him into an offensive system that thrived on broken plays this past year.

Also, if I properly understand the new system...If and when Centennial looses to Hillsboro (and they will) then they do not go to the play-offs. The Hillsboro game is the only game that "really matters" and I do not see them beating Hillsboro High anytime in the near future

  8. King Z...where are you /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

The Hand-Me-Down Secondary, Alternating D Ends, Tin Men with Heart Transplants, Spider, Hogan, Tiger, Coach A and Coach T want you to come out and play. /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" />

    Go Rebels

    Here I am...

I got another one to add to your nice little repertoire "Theoff-brand Offensive line Franklin bought at the goodwill store"

  9. This game can be summed up in one word "physical" and everybody in the entire state knows it. Neither of these teams have traveled this far by flying over and around opponents while finessing the opposition to death. Franklin and Oakland are the last two standing because they "beat" the teams they played on Friday night. Everyone in the mid-state region knows that is how you win games, and White Station and Ootlewah (and their respective regions) have seen and witnessed that cold-hard-fact.

    Toe-to-toe

    Man-to-man

    Round-for-round

    Pound-for-pound

    Punch-for-punch

That is what this games comes down to, there can be no argument surrounding that point.

I have floated across these boards all year long, I have seen my fair share of games. I have seen Franklin numerous times, and I have taken serious "interest" in their journey. I saw Oakland this past Friday night, and since then I have watched the Franklin-WhiteStation game. I have seen both team 8 days before they square-off.

Listen and listen well Rebel Nation! The two games that took place last week brought something to my attention, these games also reminded me of previous conversations. I have listened to the endless praise that Franklin supporters have poured out over their beloved Offensive line. That is all well and dandy, I encourage you all to continue to take pride and refuge behind your over-achieving and scrappy Offensive line. Because you have victimized the Defensive fronts of Hillsboro, Ravenwood, and Hendersonville, but at the end of the day have you really accomplished anything? Are any of those teams considered Defensive-Line super-powers? Brentwood's defense gave almighty Franklin a good amount of problems, but once again Brentwood's Defensive line is not over-loaded nor is it the heart of their stifling defense (Brentwood's linebacking corps is responsible for that). When I saw Franklin play White Station the other night I saw Franklin undergoing problems again, but this time for another reason. Brentwood intensified its attack on Franklin's offensive line through great discipline and scheme, as where White Station exploited Franklin through the use of overwhelming athleticism. White Station proved that you can overtly alter Franklin's high-powered offense with speed, quickness, and power in the trenches (much like Independence did last year by placing Pettigrew & Consiglio at Defensive Tackle). Rebel Nation...Oakland is your worst nightmare. #62 and #78 from Oakland will haunt Franklin all night when Saturday rolls around. Those two players will make sure Franklin will not be able to run the ball between the tackles, because there is no way the off-brand Offensive line Franklin bought at the goodwill store will be able to stop those two from storming the backfield. The only way Franklin could even hope to keep Oakland's Defense honest would be to execute the quick passing game (3-step drops, shotgun, flare passes, screens) but after the way the hallowed Franklin Offensive line allowed White Station's Defensive front to get in Nichols' face and cause pressure I am not so sure if that will even work. Not to mention the way Franklin's receivers(#8 and #5) have been dropping balls all over the place.

In Conclusion Franklin's Offensive line is an assembly of "Davids", who have not yet faced "Goliath". They have handled the bears and lions who have come against their flock of sheep, but they have not yet slain the Giant. Well boys and girls...Oakland is that "Giant"

    GET YOUR STONES READY FRANKLIN!!!

  10. I am right here...I never left, I just lost interest. I am sorry but I will not stoop to the point of "publicly" endorsing the Franklin Rebels (as every other losing team has done).

Until next year, you all can keep kissing Donny Webb's "Oakland Patriots State Championship" ring, because he will never be able to replace it with a Franklin Rebel version.

  11. Have you ever played football? Ever been in a game? Ever coached anything? Your hatred of Franklin is scary, on the above ramblings I don't know where to start. 4th qtr. games came from behind in one, lost the other in the end, other games they had the game under control early, lost one game in 10 bet your team would like to have this record. As far as coaching, what have you ever done? I am sure Coach Clayton has forgotten more about coaching than you will ever know.

Special teams play, again have you ever been in a game? Franklins punter a head case?? do you even know who he is ever seen him play? You spend a lot of time trashing kids who are out there doing their best on Friday night both now and in the past. Do you know any of these kids? Calling kids out this way tells me you are pretty weak your-self.

It is during times like these I find myself missing "BigDogDaddy". I saw him the other day playing with Centennial, why has the sentry and avenger of Franklin Athletics gone missing???

Who is the punter? He wears #55, so some body thought he was potential Linebacker material at some point in time.

  12. Aw you guys really miss me? No, nobody stole my screen name "Retired Rebel 64". It is just hard to get motivated when you no longer have a horse in the race. I have a hard time getting all fired up to write one of my high caliber posts. But if you all want one last parting shot from the master...

I'm sure I can throw something together. At this point in the season (post-season) Teams will not be blowing each other off the map (unless you are an over-rated team from east Tennessee). Games in the month of November, are decided by what happens on 4th down: punts & conversions. Franklin has only played 2 whole (4 quarter) games this entire year McCallie & Brentwood. We all know the result, when you force Franklin into 4 quarters. all of a sudden they are not the same stunning juggernauts they seem to be in the 1st half. Franklin is weak and they have no heart. Franklin has defined themselves as the "Tin-Man" of Tennesssee High School football...no heart. We also know what happens when you play a game of "field-position" with the Franklin Rebel coaching staff. Playing a game of "inches & hidden-yardage" with Coach Clayton is like playing chess with a kid who only knows how to play checkers. When the game gets close, and the pressure is cranked-up the facet of a football team that feels this pressure the most is the "kicking-game". There is something about standing in the backfield in the fourth quarter awaiting the snap, when your team is needing a clutch punt that tests a kids resolve. Especially when you a weak team mentally and physically. It also does not help when you have a head-case punting the ball...when the pressure is on he is sure to shank a few punts (which will throw Coach Clayton into a storm of profanities).

While Coach Hatfield is stirring a pot of "Franklin Rebel Kryptonite" (I LOVED that line "Kill-Ville)...I bet Coach Donny Webb is having night tremors re-living the defeat of his 2006 rebels. I can see Coach Webb snapping awake, and running downstairs to watch the 06' film again in the middle of the night (which gives him cold sweat. Would someone check Coach Donny Webb's fingernails next time you see him. Because this week we has an appointment with his old nemesis the "Wing-T". It would crush his poor spirit to see his precious #57, #48, #53 season ended as abruptly as his previous children Hampton, Anderson, and Frohawk. Would some one tell me how "Wizard Webb" himself is going to fix Franklin's D-End problems. Because so far this year it has been D-End by committee, I have seen #80, #41, #40(none of which have been relatively successful). He better get ahold of this issue, or else H'ville's "off-tackle" will destroy Franklin (just like Brentwood did earlier this year).

FRANKLIN IS WEAK, FRANKLIN HAS NO HEART

there you go rebels....I am done

  13. "Rappy" who died and elected you the sole representative of Ravenwood. What is with you so-called representatives of each and every school Franklin= "BigDogDaddy", Ravenwood="Rappy", Centennial= "CHS2007 & AmbiguousRock", Independence= "GoldenDome" and having to condemn every poster who even attempts to express an opinion. It like you all belong to some weird hierarchy for people who have posted over 1,000 times. Is the fraternity called "I know everything on CoachT".

Watch out "Rappy", and talk to "BigDogDaddy" about how I ended his CoachT career (because he has not been back since)

  14. I will go on record right now as saying..."Region-6 in a clean sweep!"

The Play-offs are the beginning of a new season, everyone is 0-0. Brentwood, Franklin, Centennial, and Ravenwood move on to the 2nd round of the 5A-state-championship-playoffs. We will then get a chance to determine the true Region-6 Champoinship (who will eventually square up against Oakland High School for the Crown of Tennessee)

  15. "Rappy", you will have to do a lot worse than that to "get-under-my-skin". Are we playing a game of "pin-the-tail-on-Kingz615" because I feel like everyone is searching for my secret identity (what am I?... Batman). I have been called "Nick Smith's Dad" by Independence fans, a "Franklin High School Student" by Ravenwood fans, and a "Franklin Football Insider" by Franklin supporters...Keep guessing suckers! I can just imagine a group of (insert high school HERE) supporters hovered around a computer reading the latest "kingz615" post, people's cell phones constantly ringing spreading the news about a new infamous post from the "villain-of-CoachT"...Do you want to really know who I am?

I am "the truth" because they say "the truth hurts", and it seems like every time I re-appear on the message boards of CoachT somebody's feelings get hurt. I simply present the truthful facts (In an offensive manner).

I feel sort of bad for H'ville, because they drew the proverbial "short-straw" in the first round opponents. The one team that honestly no single team wants to play once November rolls around is Ravenwood. Maybe there is something about the "one-and-done" principle that awakens the "sleeping-giant" of Region-5.

Consistency causes Inconsistency- Ravenwood's constant assault of the Hendersonville O-line/ back-field will cause confusion & panic, which lead to a change in game rhythm. Which eventually gives birth to inconsistent play (3-and-outs). Ravenwood's Offense just needs to keep the ball moving, and wait for H'ville to overextend their boundaries, at which point a simple flare route will break the game wide open.

WHEN SATURDAY MORNING COMES...HENDERSONVILLE WILL REALIZE THAT THE #1 SEED MEANS NOTHING AGAINST THE RAVENWOOD RAPTORS

  16. Does anyone realize why Region-6 enters the playoffs so arrogant? Because every year we make an example of Region-6. Of course every once an awhile region-5 pulls of an upset (H'ville vs. Franklin 06) but come on...Its Franklin (they cant ever win a game when it matters...regardless if they are the "better team") But over-all Region-6 proves why it is the best region in the whole state (year-after-year).

Ravenwood has been given new life because the play-offs are a new start. Trust me NO-ONE wants a piece of the Raptors right now, and the H'ville Commandos will understand that about half-way through the second quarter, when RHS begins firing up the blitz packages with precision and the sacks and broken plays begin to follow. Ravenwood will pick the H'ville defense apart bit-by-bit just like good ole' INDY did to region-5 last year. Williams will dump-dink-and-donk the Commando defense into submission. No one else's receivers absorb & deliver the hits quite like a group of Region-6 wide-outs, Ravenwood's wide-outs do not know the meaning of "alligator-arms" and they never "hear-footsteps", and from what I saw from H'ville last Thursday there is no one on that entire defense that is capable of in-stilling fear in Ravenwood's offensive onslaught.

THIS FRIDAY COULD BE ANOTHER DISAPPOINTING OUTING FOR REGION-5...FRIDAY NIGHT AGAINST RAVENWOOD WILL BE AS EMBARRASSING AS GETTING CAUGHT WITH YOUR PANTS DOWN, WHILE YOUR GOING "COMMANDO"

  17. The best of Region 5 squares off against 4th seed of region 6, in an "Upset Special". Ravenwood has been called many things this year, but yet again we find ourselves in the playoffs with a "too-close-to-call" game in the first round. Ravenwood has been called the "Giant-Killer" of region-5...Is H'ville the Goliath in this story of "david-and-goliath"? will region 5 fall to the innocent Ravenwood Raptors once again? But most of all, I think the best term to describe the Raptors this season would be "loose-cannon", is their a few more rounds left in the chamber?

"ups-and-downs" have been the story of RHS's season this year...

    UP- win against BA

    DOWN- loss to Franklin

    UP- win against Brentwood

    ???- close loss to MBA

    DOWN- loss to Centennial

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT??? If the above mentioned pattern depicts anything then maybe RHS is due for another "upward-swing".

H'ville may be the #1 seed, and they may be the better team, and they may be looking forward to Franklin/ Hunter's Lane, because they may have already etched the "W" next to their name, and moved themselves up into the next round of the playoffs. But if the past is any type of indicator I would place my money on good ole' RHS.

Coach Rector's off season antics may draw some questions and some of his decisions during the regular season may lift a few eye-brows...but when it comes to calling-the-shots after the tenth game, there are few better than Coach Rector himself. Coach Rector and his Raptors are notorious for over-achieving in the play-offs. RHS has done the impossible before.

WHEN FRIDAY ROLLS AROUND...EVERYONE WILL REALIZE...SOMEBODY FORGOT TO TELL THE RAVENWOOD RAPTORS THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO LOSE!!!

  18. I will be the first to admit that I follow 6-5A football first and foremost, but over the past few weeks (as the play-offs have loomed closer) I have been catching up on the predominant 6-5A teams. And I have made a few observations in comparison...

Gallatin plays teams with speed at the skill positions all year long, Centennial needs to realize that Gallatin plays in a speed-oriented region. They played a team a few weeks ago that is vary similar to CHS in Hunter's Lane. And they figured out the key to dismantling teams of that nature, which is...running the ball between the tackles, because this neutralizes the speed on the outside. CHS should be used to that because it is exactly how Franklin destroyed them in the second half.

All other Factors aside, this game comes down to one thing for both sides...Hard-nosed-old-style-football

    ITS GUT-CHECK TIME!!!

  19. On paper CHS there is no way CHS should play close to Franklin's level, But (and I predict) Franklin will allow CHS to stay in the game. If CHS is allowed to linger around long enough that you open the door for 1-2 plays to change the game (Kick return & turnover).

Has anyone ever heard of a "high percentage basketball shot"??? It usually is a shot which has two attributes 1) it has a high chance of success 2) it has a low chance of failure (or some other bad outcome). Franklin has one of the greatest "1-2-punches" in the state in the combo of Ford/ Lee. But Franklin seems addicted to making things as difficult as possible. Instead of playing "high percentage football", Franklin wants to play flashy/ fancy football (lower percentage football). By spreading the ball around and making things look fancy Franklin will keep this game closer than it needs to be. Why would anybody run a screen to Lee/ Ford, when handing the ball of is just as effective??? Only Franklin could find a way to waste a deadly backfield (for the second year in a row). I am telling everyone right now...CHS is going to destroy one of those flashy plays in the backfield for a quick (and cheap) six points

CHS's defense will not need to worry about stopping Lee/ Ford because Franklin will take care of that for them. I am sorry Lee/ Ford maybe if you played at Ravenwood/ Brentwood you would be playing for a State title in a month, but instead you will sitting at home.

On defense, two of Franklin's most over-rated players will once again fail to get the job done...Sellars & Gordon. Gordon has looked impressive between the tackles, but we will see what happens tomorrow when he has a TE hitting the seem for the consistent first down. If Franklin had a decent center fielder, then Gordon could play his game up front and not worry about the pass across the middle (but they dont) Ramsey Sellars has once again shown he is an over-rated disappointment at whatever position you put him in. And tomorrow night will be no different, he will not make the big hit, he will not make a crossing receiver "hear footsteps", he will come up short on a game changing play (must be a disease with the Strong Safeties at FHS). Because just when Franklin looses the only decent player in their secondary (Eric Brown), Franklin will need Sellars or Starnes to step-up and make big plays. But they will be M.I.A...I believe I labeled Franklin's secondary "hand-me-down", and CHS will validate another one of my predictions.

TOMORROW WILL BE A STATEMENT GAME FOR CENTENNIAL....JUST TRUST ME

  20. How many times must I give you people a "history lesson", I never left I have been right here. I came back after the 28-0 loss to Franklin and told you all that Ravenwood was not done. That Ravenwood would pull it together, and put themselves into position when the time came (here we stand with an automatic birth into the play-offs no matter what happens). I also remember saying "eventually Franklin will choke, and it will probably be against BHS or CHS. Franklin is incapable of closing the door" We all saw your cute-pretty-boy-defense crumble when it really mattered against Brentwood (they choked).

I guess you are right, I have offended a lot of people, because people hate to hear the truth. That is what I offer "the truth".

Franklin may have the ability to beat the Cougars this weekend, but I doubt they will "do-what-is-needed" now that the pressure is on. Every fan of region 6-5A football pointed to the BHS-FHS as the "region-title-match", the pressure was on, and Franklin curled-up-and-quit (like a turtle). Whether it is the build-up to the IHS playoff game last year, or the buzz surrounding the BHS game this year. Everyone involved with Franklin football (Coaches & players) are un-able to get the job done. I stumbled across an interesting quote the other day, and it reminded me of FHS football.

I do not fear an army of LIONS if they are lead by a SHEEP...But I do fear a lion of SHEEP led my a LION

So I know realize that there is nothing scary about anything Franklin can bring to the table. I will go on record as to saying that "Franklin's O-line will give the game away this weekend". Sure they looked good against mediocre D-lines, but the moment they ran into a strong-disciplined D-line (Brentwood) they broke at the seams. This weekend, the rag-tag team will face a new challenge to quit against... A speedy-D-line. Brentwood knocked Franklin off the ball, and Centennial will blow past Franklin after the snap of the ball. Everybody takes so much pride in their "impenetrable-O-line", well we will see what FHS supporters have to say after CHS's D-line plays the majority of the game in Franklin's back-field.

Franklin is an army of SHEEP...led by SHEEP
