I would like to know how many boys on both lists are gettting looks from a college. It seems to me no matter how well you play in 1-A it is hard to get a school to really look at the boys does anyone know where any of the boys are going!!!!!!

20 tackles a game ...........You guys need to learn that when you pad stats you have to make them slightly believable. He was listed as having over 20 against us when we only ran around 30 plays. We also held you guys to under 100 TOTAL rushing yards and both your backs were credited with over 100 APIECE in the prep xtra.

better look at your prep extra stats Miller ran the ball 32 times in this game and I know there were others who ran the ball. We love football at our house so if you have a open day give me a call we can look over all the game films together.

well i agree its messed up. we should vote for a true first team off. and def. recongnize the best at 22 positions. that idea got shot down 2 years ago when i made the suggestion. i took care of that heading into the next season new district. as for hampton they did not show up for the meeting. hard to have a voice when there is not one there. pujo why did you not have anyone there to fight for whats right? looked like hampton could have cared less. i also have the second place award for the district here at COSBY. i assume grace got the first place one. do you want me to send you ours sometime so we can share the regional championship. maybe grace will let you borrow theirs for a few months. actually you can have ours if you want it not real fond of silver. as for who got what. nominations are made, votes are made, votes are counted, & recognition recieved. heck looked what happen with the nations top job. the way i see it alot of kids got the shaft.

things need to be more like the bcs then kids would get recongnized for the stats based on level of competion like a 100+ yards rushing against a 3a school or kings academy in the first half. not like 100+ against kings academy in 4 quarters already up 4 scores or against north greene. by the way dont always believe what you read in the papers. i ll send you a film to prove it.

The fact that you are a coach in this region you should understand how hard it is for thease 1-A kids to get a chance at the next level. Because they play for a small school stats mean everything when a college coach is looking at thease kids. We all have to play all of the schools in our region good bad or what ever This year Unaka or Jelleco were not going to help any of us as far as numbers go but we all had to play them. Yes the coaches should try to get the best games they can for the non region games. But some schools refuse to put you on the schedule. If you dont have the winning record you cant get the games. Grace was getting dog beat by everybody in the first couple years the existing coaching staff had to have a schedule. Kings and North Green Taft all were willing to play so the existing coach filled the schedule with a four year deal. What everone needs to understand is the game is played by the kids they want to play not sit out no mater the score i look at college games all the time and most coaches will score as much as they can it could mean the difference in a bowl game later in the year. I am not saying a coach should run up the score just to run up the score but if we would have pulled out the starters they would not have had a chance at the next level because they would have not played enough to get looked at as a 1-A player. THAT IS A FACT. My son is wanting to play college ball somewhere and we have had a real hard time getting anyone to look at him. If he did not have the stats he has they have told me he would not even get a look.

It is a team game and the team must come first when the games are over the best players should not get the shaft as you put it, because of who they play for or were they play. The coach's who count the votes need to do the right thing by the players end of story!!!!

Congrats to all of the winners I was lucky enough to be there and I can tell you the room had something special about it.

Never ever would I post something like that if I didn't hear it with my own ears. Most Coaches have a little more respect than that.

 

And I strongly agree about the kids from Grace, If they deserve an award. plain and simple,give it to them.

No matter what team it is college coaches dont know about anything that goes on between coaches. All they see it the outcome. 1-A all ready has a hard time when it comes to getting kids into college. As I have said before let the adults fuss all they want but dont hurt the kids.

Hampton just hasn't turned theirs in yet but they had 3-4 on the team

They were posted in the Knoxville paper and showed the MVP David Amos Grace and the offence player of the year the QB from Cloudland, defence a player from Unaka, and special teams a player from Jelleco just seemd very odd to me that the All three of the players of the year were from the three last place teams in the region

For some reason there was no one from Hamton on the list and if I read it right the top players in the reagion were from the three last place teams. Sure dont look good for the region.

another classless player i saw friday night was number #57.... we were all yelling because hampton did something good for a change...he turned around a said something to us... i couldnt hear cause i the yelling what he said but the coach grabed him and threw him back in the game... real classy.... but #24 is one of the best players i have seen all year...

On another note ,even with all the transfers, don't flatter yourself, you're team is not that great, About the 11th best team on the East side. Hampton graduated nearly every starter they had,they still ran all over you, should have beat you quite a bit worse. About 3 or 4 tds better, Cloudland and Cosby will kick you're little rear end too. You guys are going to have some sore rear ends.

 

I just wonder where all the proud supporters have went,are they out there looking for a few more good men. Its going to take several more to be a real contender in 1a. You are not close.

IT will be a close Game but i think that Grace will break down Hamptons Defense with their two very good running backs and then go to their passing game... they have such an awesome offense with so many weapons.... their only real weakness is their defense and they have been improving

everyone wants to talk about all the points we have scored but if you look we have held the other teams to small scores and low yards this defense will help win games

Grace ram fan and diddler what your school did do oakdale is as classless and bush league as it comes you had a team down by 30 somethings points in the fourth quarter and kept the starters in the game to score two more times against a team that you know does not have numbers and has not had a winniing season in years and your coaches chose to score 61 points on them if your third team kids been in which at this point in the game they should have been then o k but that wasent the case so like the old saying goes what goes around comes around and i would be embarrased to say i was part of your program and dont try to say younger kids were in because i looked at the gca web site and i know for a fact the younger kids were not in so dont even try and go there . you even kicked a on side kick after having them down to get the ball back that is real class but when playoffs come you will get yours and i hope that people keep letting you guys know how they feel about what your program did way to go Grace real class act

so if we would let everyone score more points on us to keep the score inline that would make everyone happy and they would leave us alone. Yea right!!! Everyone forgets we to are a 1A team and dont go real deep just like everyone else in 1A

I had two kids go through public schools classes were to big both had trouble at the next level. The fact that it is a christian background was a Plus.

some kids have been hurt and some are no longer playing. trust me I count them every week

All private schools are a business, atheletics is a great selling tool. If Grace can continue to have success, they will get alot of transfers. The school will really take off. If I'm not mistaken ,I saw where their baseball Coach was a scout for the Atlanta braves. If you build it ,they will come. I also agree the open enrollment and Magnet should have the same multiplier. If I'm not mistaken, the new classifacations will deal with all of the above.

The baseball coach is gone and we started 2 eighth graders last year only had 9 players total so we hope a few more will play this year.

OK' I'll agree ,the things I say is spectulation and suspecion, granted every team in regions 1 and 2 suspect the same things I do. Do you know the facts. What is making so many good atheles transfer to a losing school like Grace , Who paid for Wansmaker,why would the new QB and Running back feel the need to pay 2 years of tuition to get to play one season at Grace,public schools had been fine for them their whole life. How many transfers are starting on the football team I'm talking people who has transfed to Grace the last 4 years. I'm willing to bet ,you either ,don't know the FACTS or you are ashamed to tell them.

 

With the schedule you have ,you guys are apt to score about 50 a game and look the best 1a team in the state,you will be ranked real high and people are going to tell you ,you are not that good. Don't take it so hard when you find out they were right. The really great 1a schools will do you just like you have done you're oppenents the past 2 weeks. I doubt you will ever get far enough to face any of the elite teams,but if you do,get ready for a thumping. I, for one will enjoy every second of it. Just remember,I told you so.

last I looked football is a team sport you keep talking about a couple players that are new. We are a new program this is only the third class. You just cant start a high school with no kids. This is a new program and the kids change for a lot of reasons we had 22new kids in the school who dont play football. Most of or kids play three sports in order to fill the teams you really dont have a clue.

They transferred for MANY reasons and the whole package that GCA has to offer has proved it to be an excellent move and one that lots of people around the area are moving to...a wise move for any family...

I can tell you it was and not about football!!!!!

I.asked a while back if the new transfers were Graces best players, they said Lord No, I saw where Hester ran the ball 4 time for 116 yards and 3 tds. I hope they don't unleash their best one against Unaka. I wonder just how many new transfers are contrbuters for this bunch.I think its nothing more than a big joke. I also looked at the roster ,they dress 50, , I don't know what their enrollment is ,but that seem like a bunch of players for a school their size. I've saw a couple of articles where they were talking 10 and 0, looks like they could be right. Someone may think ,thats a big accomplishment, don't look to big to me. Try coaching the players thats been there since elementery and win and I'll give you props ,its not to big a thing when most of the best players have only been there for 2 or 3 years. I'm not impressed.

Hester has not played in two years Amos has been with the team for the last 3 years when they were taking lumps from everyone it was just a good homecoming game. Roster is 36

That's a fair statement. At the end of the day, they are boys and should be protected and given every advantage to suceed. I really hope none of them read any of this!

I can tell you I have had most of them over to the house They read it!!! Makes them want to play harder. Every kid on this team has a story and most of them are not real good. They are KIDS!!!! TSSAA is very tuff on thease boys they sit out a year just to be able to play most of the boys who came over did not even play for the teams they came from.

o and i reference to wannamaker he got a scholarship thanks to yall n every other team he dominated

This is a GREAT KID and has a 4.0 or better GPA
