Predictions? My pick is Lipscomb by 15.

i don't have any knowledge of Harpeth, but DL seems ready for them after their thriller last night. goodluck to both

I saw the hand-check foul that wasn't called. I don't think I'll be able to be convinced otherwise that Lipscomb got away with a few extra pushes down low and in the press. The refs were fairly consistant on letting them play, the style just helps a team like Lipscomb who isn't as athletic, but more physical.

 

But the refs didn't score 43 points for Lipscomb in the 4th quarter. And believe it or not, with Lipscomb's big 4th, Marshall Co. still should have won the game.

Lipscomb wasn't as athletic? Which game were you watching? As I recall DL owned the boards, and had their post players guarding little quick guards the whole night. DL had the bigger more athletic team in this game, and MC can shoot lights out. Thats why it went into 2 OTs

...and to everyone leave the refs alone, they at no point in the game shot a basket, got a rebound, steal, nothing, point and case, they didn't play the kids did. and on the calls; they are people who are imperfect just as all of us are, we all make mistakes, such as a missed call which occur during every athletic event in every level of all sports.

I will presume, because it is obvious I live in the real world and you have no idea. You told me a nice story about one family and they seem to be admirable and I certainly do respect what they have been able to accomplish in their lives. We have many such stories and worst. We have boys that work after school with no time for anyone to help them catch up. How many students do you have with learning problems? How many minorities do you have? Why don't you have more? I all ready know it is a low number. How many children do you have who would qualify for free lunch under TN's guidelines? Give me the number and I'll leave you alone. Why don't you use your time and resources to help make all schools better places for all children? It is my business as a Christian and someone who cares about all kinds of children. I'm preaching buddy, and if you don't like it, don't read it and don't respond.

You live in the real world? maybe, if your real world is coacht.com. no one who lives on a computer and has 99 posts can ever say they live in "the real world". and you and all the other GC fans need to stop coming up with excuses for getting beat the other night. the game is over and no one can go back in time in this "real world" you keep talkin about. please respond i know you will.

Watch your mouth pool boy. I am one of those people and there are more than just me, even on coach t, who think private schools should not play other private schools. If they don't want to go to school with the public school kids during the week, why play us on Friday night? Some people on this DL vs. Giles message board have said we were "not very classy". (I believe the main reason they said it is because we played you a game and the 2nd and 3rd string didn't get to play). Wouldn't it be great if you could play the classy schools at all times. If you weren't so stupid you would be able to figure out some of the advantages. Does everyone that wants to go to DL get to? What if they don't have enough money, are not smart enough, have had some behavior problems, don't have supportive parents, ..........etc. etc. etc. Its a hard world out there for some kids, but you don't seem to know about it or care. Public schools are the real Christian schools, because everyone is accepted and the people who have more help the ones that have less. We don't hide or separate ourselves.

watch my mouth? at no point did i say anything insulting to anyone that would make me need to "watch my mouth". also, if i at any time said GC was not very classy as you said please quote me. lipscomb does not accept every student, which is part of the reason most lipscomb players are not great athletes. and yes i do agree with you that some kids have a rougher at home life which may effect their ability to play a sport, but you need to not use that as an excuse for your loss. what number are you on the team?

Reread the post please. I did not use the dreaded seven letter word. I said that DL had advantages that most public schools don't have. Do you disagree with this statement. Why? Who is in Division 2, if not private schools? Why don't you go play in Division 2 if you are so sure you can compete. I think DL cares more about domination that competition. But I bet you will remember the night that your second and third string players didn't get to go in the second quarter or not even in the second half.

yes i disagree. Name those advantages that DL has over most public schools. Tiny weight rooms? very fixed income for equipment? only a little over 500 students to chose from? please tell me id like to know. and again since you seem to be a little slow... DL does not recruit or give financial aid to ANY of their athletes so they do not play in Division 2 with all of the other schools that can give financial aid to athletes. sorry your school got beat by a private school who does not recruit and does not have any advantages...

The thing about it is that I thought I would be impressed; really impressed and I continued to think so when I saw the size of the DL players. You have a young man who is all ready committed to Tenn. so I hear and he did keep you in the game. I pray the Rogers boy is not hurt seriously, but you do realize he was tackled by a kid who is around 5'5" and 150 pounds, who willo most likely never get an offer from TN. When I arrived at the game and saw the players at DL, I really thought that we should not be playing private school who can get players from anywhere, but after the game, I think that it is fine for us to continue to play DL even though the TSSAA won't have us in the same playoff level after this year. You may be the better team and I don't really think I can argue with that, but we had the biggest heart for the game last night. You may have to play better also to make it past the first round. What do you think?

You are stupid if you think DL recruits players from all around. With only a little over 500 kids to choose from... i dont think they always get the biggest and most athletic. so do not use this excuse to blame yals loss... final score if i remember DL was on top. enough said

Not that it will affect them in this one but how is Harrison Daniel's status????? I saw the replay of the Goodpasture game on CSS yesterday afternoon. Hope that knee of his is going to be okay.

unfortunately, Daniel tore his ACL and is out for the season. this will have a huge affect the Mustangs Daniel was a great player. keep him in your prayers

David Lipscomb doesn't blitz that often. They have three stacked linebackers and are a Cover 2 team primarily. That "Stud" is not a "Linebacker" in the Mustangs defense. He is more of a stand up "End". I would call him coming as a "blitz" from the defense of David Lipscomb.

Yea, he's 14.

I think the Mustangs are just alot (a lot) better. I hope Goodpasture will bring their A game and keep it somewhat close. Goodpasture has the weakest defense they have had in quite some time.

 

 

nice scoreboard, i see you are living in the past. IMO this year will be different DL's, 10 senior, defense is drooling for this 14 year old QB who has yet to face a defense such as coach mac's who blitzes every play and hits you in the mouth. lipscomb will end this one by halftime if they can contain cunningham, who is an excellent player.

this game is always a close one, however; this year goodpasture is very young and is rebuilding and DL is at its height according to several people over coacht.com. IMO every year this game is good but DL will run with this one.
