  1. yep, i'm going to take in both games. should be excitin'
  2. i say culleoka by 10 and CA by 3.
  3. ok i get that much, but when is the CA game Fri night or Thurs night? i know culleoka plays Fri. night. do you know the time? are these two games back to back or is one on thursday?
  4. so CA vs. Richland and Culleoka vs. Cornersville both on Friday night? or is one game on thursday night? both games played at Cornersville?
  5. Upshaw will be ready to play. just needed to stay off his ankle for awhile. stephens will be more than ready to play if he plays in the first district game.
  6. congratulations Warriors! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  7. culleokarep, what was your take on the whole thing? were you there?
  8. right, it was almost the end of the game. the score was basically out of reach.
  9. i think you are exactly right.
  10. i understand exactly what you mean. i understand how frustrated and powerless stephens felt, but hopefully he will learn from this and control those emotions and anger from now on. he has a little time to think about it. the team will pull it together in the next two games without him and be fine, i think.
  11. that is exactly what happened, but i'd say all in the space of about 8 seconds! the boys said he pulled his shirt out when he knew he got the 2nd tech and was out of the game. then the ref slapped another one on him. not a good scene.
  12. oh yeah, i knew it was for coaches. just had a blank moment. thanks!
  13. slatten runs nothing close to a "loose" program. quite the opposite. all four suspensions were in one unfortunate misunderstood event. stephens just lost his cool and couldn't recover before the three techs in a row were called on him. but the team stepped up and finished the game. i think cornersville expected a big shift in momentum which did not happen.
  14. i think that's right. 250 dollars, but i don't know who gets the fine--school or coach? i think stephens reaction was out of pure frustration from the whole night. he had lots of calls on him and did not play alot due to the fouls. and no, i am in no way supporting his reactions. i just think he was too emotional and the ref smiling with pure satisfaction put him over the edge. good job by holt to try to calm stephens down. i have also heard those same refs have been banned by several schools.
  15. i think they were ready, but it just didn't happen. the student section was definitely ready and the other side was full of adults. CA started out fired up, but then it kind of fizzled out on them.
  16. there were four suspended, two juniors and two sophomores.
  17. i'm almost positive the boys were still suspended for the westview game and i know they didn't play at loretta.
  18. that's right, Stephens did not play in the first game against CA. Holt did not have a good 3 shot going on against CA. But he's capable of it.
  19. you're right. he is very good on defense and constantly brings others back up if they get discouraged. he can shoot 3's and is great with layups from fast breaks. he never stops contributing and never gives up. he hustles until the last buzzer rings. Culleoka played a good game against CA. the techs were deserved in my opinion from throwing up their hands to the refs and mouthing back. the crowd was as usual...CA students reading their newspapers, turning their backs, painted up beat cully with white faces. funny whiteboard remarks were held up too. CA parents were into the game and first and then sort of died down with the student section. both teams had lots of supporters there. GO WARRIORS...keep playing hard!
  20. /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> ya'll are making me nervous and it's only saturday!
  21. nevermind, you're impossible to communicate with.
  22. monkeywrench, this is what i was talking about. the CA players get frustrated or down when they get behind. never said those two words at all
  23. willie, i know exactly what you mean about the CA's team not giving up...but several players seem to give that impression during games. i tried explaining that to monkeywrench, but he didn't get it. maybe he will when he reads your post.
  24. laugh if you want, but i don't think you'll be laughing when the game's over. actually...you don't win a game just because you get an early lead. lots of early leads are lost and turns into a loss. that's not even what i meant. what i meant was if c'ville jumps out and starts scoring early you can practically watch the CA players get frustrated. a big point spread usually frustrates them and they seem to get mad or frustrated with eachother.
