I completly agree and if u look at my earlier post i said Coach White wasnt a bad coach but LC was in the regoin that got hotter as time went along. AND yes he wasnt a bad 3A coach but i was there when we last went to the playoffs and it helped that we had over 20 starters that were senoirs.

I completly agree with you GQ is the best coach in the state and thats got no arguement. Yes he is the reason that Maryville keeps winning so much he can coach kids into winners. He has a great system in Maryville. His players stay committed bc they win so many of LC players get discouraged by losing all the time. Coach White ran the LC program into the ground. AS a former player for white i saw first hand at what he was doing to the program. He wouldnt punish the starters if they did something wrong but if a back up or 3rd stringer did it they would get punished like no other. If you look back in 2004 we went to the second round of the playoffs but since then we have won only 6 games in 4 years. As a senoir he kept telling us that we were preparing for the future and then he would leave some senoirs in the game when it was out of reach and sometimes that lead to injury. The McCallie kid(sprained MCL) got hurt in the 4th quarter against Powell when the game was 41-0. Heck he had his star senoirs sit on the bench while the backups and underclassmen moved the ball which shouldve said something but idk if he ever got that when you let the kids have fun with the game they will produce results. This may have been the downfall to this years team somewhat. NO underclass man had expeirence playing OT this year bc he had 2 senoirs playing the position in the 4th. Yes last year we shouldve prepared for the future by playong younger guys more. But I think Zeller will only get better as a coach with this program. He is exactly what this team need. Yes they have bc they have a coach that knows how to run an offense. The one thing i know is yes cook is going to be a great runner but coleman has been known to fumble the ball as he did 3 times last year inside the 30 against Anderson County. So yes ill agree neither last years team or this years has been good so its pretty much a tie. Im still waiting for the future. STILL GO LC PANTHERS

Yes last years team did not throw any touchdown passes. But we didnt throw any interceptions that were returned for touchdowns. We could run the ball and yes we played on both sides of the 50 yd line but we also had touchdowns runs over 20 yards. Coty the Rb from last year had 5 td runs of over 50. So ill take last years o line over this years any day. And no we werent a offensive juggernaut last year either but we could run the ball. This years o line is a defensive lines dream all small guys with speed. Strength beats speed in the trenches. An one reason we didnt throw any TD was the fact they we could run screens and pound the ball in there. Last years o line was stout we average 6'1" 285 across the line with the biggest being 6'2" 325. This years o line is what 6' 250. Thats not an o line thats a bunch of gloryified fullbacks. And yes JC did play some o line last year due to injuries but he played significant time. I was out there with JC on multiple occasions. AT one game we were both told to stay on the same side together to block and it worked we scored. So JC did play alot of oline last year due to injury but he played.

Yes i do know a lot bout LC football I played there the last four year. And what i said was the only lineman from last year that came back with significant playing time was Courtney who they switched out of oline. This years offense maybe a little better but last years offense line wouldve killed this years defense. We only gave up 5 sacks all year and this year they gave up four to loudon alone. So as a member of last years o line I will say that we were better. We had size, strength, and we could move the ball. So facts r facts LAST YEARS O LINE WAS BETTER

Yes it is a David vs. Goliath but LC has a good shot. The one big problem that has plaqued the LC panthers the last couple years is the lack to stop the big play. We have the talent to stop and beat anyone but we can't stop the big play and it kills us every game. This week will finally be the game that LC plays their hearts out every quarter. Yes LC is beat up right now and they dont have much depth but the one thing they do have is heart. Yes they also have one of the smallest o-lines in the region and that is due to so many senoirs playing last year and the fact that they returned only one kid who had any varsity o-line game time and that was Josh Courtney. Last year when i was playing next to josh on the o line he worked his butt off every play and in my mind he was the only underclassman who showed any true will power to play the o line. SO yes its a stretch but I can see this o line protecting the QB. THE main problem that haunts the LC team is the fact the QB has thrown more TD's to the other team than he has to his own (4-3) this will not win you games and the coach shouldve figured it out by now.

Yes Maryville has played excellent the last for years and they get my respect for it. I played against them for three years in high school and we always started out tough but made one key mistake and Maryville ran with it. This years LC team has played great the last couple of weeks in the second half so if we can play the complete game we have a shot to pull off the biggest upset in state history and put a halt to the Maryville dynasty. Im am optimistic though Maryville has had some tough games this year and pulled them out in the end. LC ahs had some tough games that they shouldve won. They made big mistakes in bad spots but at sometimes they played amazing. Second, I never said that Coach White wasn't a good coach. I said that he is not hard to figure out I have watched Coach White when he coached at LC and his scheme wasn't hard to figure out. Yes, He was a great position coach and im not here to take anything away from him. He has been successful in football for a long time. I learned alot from playing under him and alot of the stuff helped me in life and I think him for that. When he resigned i was sad to see him leave LC. He left a mark on his players that they will never forget. So I am saying that White was a good caoch but he coached against better teams. He had the disadvantage of coaching in a tough region that was only gettin better with every year. Im very aware that they do not overlook any opponent but sometimes the opponent comes out firing on all cylinders but by the time the 4th quarter comes Maryville has players they can put in there and be fresh and beat the team. Every team in America works hard every week and they know the other teams strengths and weaknesses but they do not all have the success that Maryville has had. In my mind alot of Maryvilles success is creditted to Coach George Quarles. HE has been the most successful coach in TN state History and If u look the players change every year but he puts together a winning team not matter how much or how little talent he has. I wish Maryville all the success in the world and them winning state every year looks great for the region. But being from LC and being a former Panthers myself I want LC to win this ball game. It will be close but I think it will be LC 21 Maryville 17

This week I think that this LC team will pull off a major upset against Maryville. The LC team has this game circled on the calendar. One big reason is the Fact that they want to Beat Coach Nick White in his return to LC. They all know how to beat him and his secondary. This game will be the breakout that LC needs. YES Maryville hasnt lost in over 4 years but they will get upset by a team like LC. I completly agree South Doyle has some big ol boys who make them hard to block but in the rain the big boys wont get passed the o line. LC running game has been pretty good in the past couple weeks so in the rain soaked field i see LC running the ball all over the Cherokees. WE WILL WIN this soaked game and make our step back into the football scene

Yes these senoirs need to go out on a high note that would defintely make them some memories. Last year Lc was just down to Maryville by 7 after the 1st quarter but then they erupted and won. But at the end of that game may have been the spark to set the fire for this seaon( well that and a new coach). When Mike Pierce scored on a Td run in the 4th quarter the LC crowd went crazy. As a fan watching LC football now from the fan point of view instead of a players point of view I see now that every time LC crosses the goaline the crowd goes wild and the support is there for these players. Not just the students but also past LC alumni and families of these players need all the support in the world over the next two weeks as they set to go for a HUGE upset that would not only shake the district but also the country. SO I say that all the fans of LC football need to show up and support these boys as they fight for survival and the future.

This will be tough now bc he was a power back but there is a kid who is a sophomore who can carry the load and now we will have two stable backs in Cook and Green and then add speed by Needham and Wright we will be fine

This friday on a football field in the middle of no where will be a game between two teams who are still fighting for a true idenity. Both teams have had their ups and downs all year and both have expeirenced bad breaks that cost them victorys. Even though both teams are 0-5 in the district they both were close to having district wins. LC worst break was at Clinton when three bad plays and a lot of help from the refs helped Clinton beat LC. LC was the better team on the field that night hands down but just a couple of bad calls and plays cost us. Now this week we will end our 20 game district losing streak that dates back to 2005. Our last district win was against South Doyle and we will get the victory this friday. My prediction is: LC 35 SD 21 So who will win you call it . GO LENOIR CITY HIGH SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!! p.s. AS a former LC panther myself I would love to see the victory friday to happen so this program will continue on the right track to success. I think people in Clinton are going to take this game way to lighty... This LC team is destined to explode sometime soon and I think this is going to be this game...Last year Clinton got some breaks during the games from the referees that helped them...This LC team has more speed than last years and that will be the uprising that they need...
