  1. I do like your picks, but i think that Liberty may give Melrose a challenge, and Hardin County could pull out the upset on East. Although neither will likely happen, I wouldn't count it out.
  2. I have to be honest Red Warrior. I didn't think you would come around, but you have, and its playoff time. I just hope we win, and I don't care if its by 1 or 100. A win in the playoffs gets you to the next round where we can fight for another. Good luck Patriots!
  3. Thanks for agreeing for the most part i guess /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" . As for the question about the power of the Hardin offense, my answer is this. Hardin County does have a very powerful and highly explosive offense, and they pose the threat of scoring more points on us if we aren't adequately prepared. What has to happen is that the power of our defense must outlast the power of their offense.
  4. Where is the Yanker? He usually has more to say on our threads. I am disappointed that he doesn't want to chat with us.
  5. I see this game going in favor of Henry County. Although, I do think that Hardin County will put up more points than the previous 9 teams that we have faced so far, but the big red defense will have enough power to stop them when it matters. This game could be a shootout by both teams but Henry County will come out on top.
  6. I honestly want to know what makes you believe that Henry County will lose before the semis this year. I agree with everyone else in saying that the road in the playoffs will be tough, but what has Henry County shown you for you to think that they will lose before then?
  7. I see your point Red Warrior, but thats not really how you have been coming off in your posts. And how do we really know that the Memphis 2, 3, and 4 teams are better than the same in our region. Typically, it does seem to lean toward Memphis in the lower seeds, but Hardin County has the offense to score a lot of points. Liberty is pretty solid. I will admit that Brighton was somewhat of a let down, but I think and I hope that the teams in our region has more than just a chance against those teams from Memphis. I do see your point though.
  8. I just don't quite understand your logic on some of your posts. You have some good things to say, but I think you may need to be a little more open minded because although you may think so, you aren't right 100 percent of the time. For the topic of my reading abilities, I very well may be an English teacher, so I doubt that not being able to read and comprehend is something that I lack /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
  9. Marsalis should be considered on the ballot. Hands down the best athelete that i have ever seen. And to think he has put up stellar numbers while only playing in the first half of each game not to mention that he shares the spotlight with two other studs.
  10. I totally agree. I didn't tattle on my coach when he made me run sprints for an on the field incident. This is a total cop out by the administration because what is the ultimate goal in football besides winning? I will tell you. DISCIPLINE!
  11. Hey prophet, don't let the words of a retired pop warner coach(30 yrs) get you all messed up. He speaks with the logic of my 5 yr old cousin. He has no info to back up saying that the Memphis teams are better than us. Yes they are good but what he doesn't understand is that Henry County has actually gotten better since last year. I mean most of our offense remained intact with graduation and can only have gotten better due to the simple fact that they have another season under their belt and 3/4 of this season to gain experience. So don't let him get under your skin. He just has nothing better to do than get on here and claim to be a Patriot fan, yet nothing pleases him.
  12. I second that motion. Its just so funny to see how dumb some of the logic that is thrown around on these boards, and some people just want to whine about being among the best of the best. Isn't that what we want in all actuality? Awsome post twillie. This is the type logic that comes from a 30 year veteran in the coaching business (as Red Warrior speaks of.)
  13. Then don't be one of us because WE as Henry County fans bleed RED. WE will watch our team no matter who they face. And for that matter, WE will watch our team compete for a state championship in 6a. Yes the competition level will be tougher, but for you to say that we can't compete makes you the foolish one that you speak of. Did you say you coached pop warner football? Because you speak with the logic of a child.
  14. I have to correct you my newfound friend on one thing. We played Hendersonville in 2000 and lost. Thats when they had James Wilhoit.
  15. Why do you hate the new classifications? I mean seriously, look at all the advantages of getting to play not only other schools but being able to travel to different places and play. Maybe one of the new teams you will play has better nachos at the concession stand /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> or just maybe you get to see better competition. Just remember the other teams have to travel as well. So quit whining.
  16. Quote the Advisor nevermore. You are my newfound hero Advisor. PWR
  17. Thank you olddevil. At least some of us make sense /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
  18. Red Warrior, although I would like to see us 5a also, I think we can compete. Take McGavock for instance, they have nearly 1000 or more kids in their school as we do. We have beaten them and will beat them like red headed step children at Wal Mart. We can handle the pressure. Just let it play itself out and only time will tell.
  19. I agree with you on this Red Warrior, but we must play the hand that has been dealt to us. And may i remind you that we have competed in the highest classifications in tn football before, and with the exception of a few years in the early part of this decade competed well with them. Namely from the late 80s to the mid to late 90s. I, in particular, think that we can compete for a state championship in 6a with the level of talent coming up from our middle schools and existing young talent at the high school now. The road may be tougher over the next few years, but don't forget that we have one if not the best coaching staffs in tn and a talented young group of atheletes on our side. We have plenty of Big Red Pwr coming up in the next few years!
  20. Good post Advisor! We finally agree. I think our team and coaches will welcome any challenge. Although it may be tougher in 6a, I believe we will be just fine. REDPWR /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
  21. You are 100 percent correct, but doesn't that make those games not seem as big as they actually were. Enough of this, is cordarius mann out for the season, or will he play friday night?
  22. Whenever most people talk about how good Alcoa and Milan are, they base their assumptions on if they are good by strictly tradition. Yes Alcoa is good and yes they have great tradition, but when their is so much more depth in a larger school, its hard to keep kids fresh. When Henry County has a fresh set of legs on just about every set of downs, smaller schools can't keep their kids in shape well enough to handle that type of depth. Alcoa is great and they have been for many years, but they can't be ranked up there based on tradition. And another point is that how many of us have actually seen Alcoa play this year? If you think that they would be any match for us then you couldn't have been seeing how our guys have clicking on all cylinders this year.
  23. Yes Alcoa is definately a great team, but to put them in the class with 5a and most 4a schools is obsurd. I am not taking anything away from them, but they have no competition and lack the depth that larger schools have. I bet you think that Milan is in the top 15 teams in the state as well. We would beat Milan and Alcoa soley because we have more depth than either team. They are great teams, but dont be too quick to rank either team up there with Franklin, MBA, BA, Ensworth, Hillsboro, Maryville, Henry County, and the list goes on. They are good but not 4a and 5a good.
  24. If you think that Dickson County, Brighton, or Munford were so called "Big Game" situations, you can't be older than 10. Obviously, Dickson County had been dabbling in the remnants of the infamous whiskey barrel before the game. Furthermore, Brighton's defense couldn't close an umberella, and Munford couldn't play dead in a John Wayne movie. Because of your misunderstanding of what "Big Game" situations are, then maybe my name should be the Advisor. I just don't agree with you saying that we have faced any sort of "Big Game" situations. We have gone into games hoping they were those types of situations but made them everything short of that. My question to you now is will the big red have enough power to scalp the indians this week? /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
