I agree. The most redicolous call they made was the technical foul on Jackson county before the game even started. That was about a 4 point difference that Jackson county never really recovered from. Our coach wasn't even allowed to stand up and coach during the game. That referee should be ashamed to make a call that could influence a game before the kids have even taken the court. The call is redicolous. The call was made because our girls came out in two lines instead of one single file line. We have done that every game for years.

Congrats to Clay Co for whipping the boys from NOOGA..........Wish we were joining you but we ran into a BUZZ SAW in Chattanooga. Good luck and represent our REGION well.

Well first of all Congrats to Chatt Arts and Science for making it to the State. They well deserved it. The crowd was unbelievable on both sides, what an atmosphere we had last night. The boys from Chatt penetrate better than anyone we have played all year. They were much quicker than we were both on offense and defense. I do think we were ready to play and did so thru almost 3 qtrs. Stayed within 5-9 points until the bottom fell out in the 4th. CSAS turned it up a notch and scored 28 in the 4th. They only hit 3 shots from better than 5 feet away (all 3's by #10).We were only 9-22 from the line and they weren't much better at 17-32. All other baskets came off drive and dish combo's or put backs on offensive rebounds. The better team won last night but our guys have nothing to hang their heads down about.

I too am proud of our team and hate to see it end this year (esp for Kyle and Cameron). But I do think with what I seen this year we will be back in this same game next year. Once again Congrats to CSAS on their win and good luck in the State!

Here we go baby, game day! Good luck to Coach Edwards and the Bulldogs as they take on what is bound to be a good Lookout Valley team. I hope that our boys "keep their eye on the prize" the way that they have since the last game with Jackson County in the district tournament. They knew that if they won that game they would be able to stay away from FCS until the region championship. They went into it hungry for a win and beat a good Jackson County team, which put them on the side of the region bracket that they needed to be on. Then they faced two elimination games with Gville and Pickett County in which they stepped up and played more cohesively than at any other point in the season. The Friendship game was the most challenging contest they had seen this year. Once again they knew that it was vital to win for future advancement, desperatley needing to stay away from CSAS. They put on a performance against FCS that was as good as any I have seen in quite a while as far as heart and hustle are concerned.

 

Good luck to these young men. I feel like they will advance, but if they don't they have already achieved more than most people would have believed they could.

And you are correct, we will be underdogs tonight and the odds are stacked against us but stranger things have happened. I hope Chatt A&S is over confident being ranked #1 in Class A and playing on their home court. By the way we have chartered a STUDENT bus so our students can be there with us.

Only because of the refs. After monday night so is FCS. There is alot more Gold Balls residing in Jackson County than there is at FCS and that my friend will NEVER change! Go Patriots!!!

The refs won't be there to save FCS in this game. CSAS by 20+

Good gosh CRYBABY give it up on the refs, evidently you didn't take time out of your whining session to look at the film. Once you do you'll shut that trap up. You need to switch over to the girls board and talk about your girls going to the state instead of crying about your boys team that didn't have anything for that game except Godwin....thats all they had.......get a life!!!

Let me start by saying I know that numbers dont tell the whole story and the game is played on a hardwood floor not on paper but: here is a side by side comparison of the two teams

The only thing that Clarkrange has in common with CSAS is that both their names contain a "C"!

If we have any chance of pulling an upset we have to make our shots down low, hit a few from downtown and hit 80% + from foul line.

Also the COACHES have to believe in the players and quit taking them out everytime they make a mistake. When you do that it affects the players ability to play the game.

Congrats to Clay Co for a hard fought game last night. These two teams are about as even as it gets. We had several chances to get on top by halftime but the short shots and follow ups just wouldn't fall. And Clay hit their PRESSURE free throws and we didn't. Congrats to Boles for getting MVP, he deserved it.

Clay Co kept its adversity even after getting 3 T's called on them for just showing emotion...its a huge game and these kids get caught up in game situations and show some emotion on the whistle....but Coach Edwards did a good job of keeping them in control.

Clay gets Lookout Valley at their place and we will travel to CSAS for another HARD game and place to win. Good luck to both teams!

And also hope JC gets their win and represents 7A very well(despite Midtnsportsfan) . Maybe Region 4 will do good.

I see where CSAS is #1 in the class A poll here on coacht. they by far are the favorites. I don't think either one of us wants to make that trip Monday.Its hard on a team to travel 2-3 hrs and then play on someone's home court against a #1 team. Odds will be heavy against either team from Region 4A. Don't know anything about Lookout Valley except their record.

Well if Sandoval (#22) plays like he did s Clarkrange we have a good hance Thursday. We have to contain Boles and rebound well. Cant wait til Thursday 7pm in H2O town.

Looks like our Region 3 opponents will be Chatt Arts & Science (26-4) and Lookout Valley (19-9).....Chatt A&S will be favored in this game, think they beat Lookout Valley by 20 last time. So it looks like this FCS/CC game will be very important with our loser probably going into a hostile environment at Chatt A&E.

Congrats to Clay Co and FCS on their victories last night. This should be a great game to watch. It could go either way depending on who steps up. We have to contain Boles, I know we can't shut him down but we have to limit him to touches and make him shoot the LONG 3 and hope he don't get hot!. We have to continue to play the tight D man to man that has carried us all season. Good luck to both teams and I hope we both get past MONDAY and leave both Chattanooga teams at home. We have 2 teams playing that can do that if we both stay focused.

Clarkrange boys were tired at the end of the 3rd. Its hard to play only 6 players and not get tired from the full court man to man defense. Jones and the Henry brothers do a good job of controlling the press (along with #30) but just got tired. They are a good team and coached well just lack the depth needed down the stretch.

Clay/Pickett should be back and forth all night long. It could really go either way. I hope that my Bulldogs come into the game with a chip on their shoulder. Pickett ousted them from the District Championship game and its time for revenge.

 

Clarkrange/FCS is an equally intriguing game. There isn't really a rivally there that I know of, but as I said earlier when it comes to "team ball" these two teams are probably the best in the region. If the Henry twins both have a good night shooting outside I could see them pulling off the upset. I only say upset because FCS is a #1 seed and Clarkrange is a #2.

We have played both Clay Co and Pickett Co. Lost at home to both and won on the road at both (go figure)...This will be a great game to watch IF Clay Co comes to play and I feel they will. Boles is tough but PC has been playing pretty good and on a mission......Toss up here PC wins on the free throw line late in game

FCS hasn't played Clarkrange but I myself have seen them play JC in district tourney. They are like us in that they don't rely on one player to depend although they did depend on #15 (tallest player they have) to help beat the JC full court press. The brothers are pretty good ball handlers and if I can remember correctly that night both shot several 3's connecting on 2 apiece. This too should be a good game to watch but I feel we can come out on top if we play ball. FCS in a tight down to the wire game...

Oh ok i got it, you not only announce at the games you also get on coacht and talk trash about a high school kid that played his heart out for his team! YOU ARE A PIECE OF YOU KNOW WHAT! I don't work for the school system and I am not trashing Godwin. If you could read I said he was the best player in our region and the best we played all year. I was commenting on your post after post after post after post of the fouls. I said after watching the film that he would fall down on several of his shots trying to get the foul called and go to the line (where I might add he prob shoots 95%). That is smart if you can fool the refs but Saturday night he didn't............so don't get on here and say I trash the kids cause I don't and I have nothing to do with the FCS staff/system except I have a kid on the team and announce home games....And as far as talking trash if thats what you call it you are on top of the list big boy!!!

Wow, that really shows how ignorant you folks from FCS really are. The man escorted from the gym stopped at the bottom of the bleachers and returned to his seat before your ol' fat headed AD had him escorted out. The reason that Godwin didn't foul out is because after picking up his 4th foul on what should have been a charge call, he didn't go for the steals and blocks he usually gets. JC fans were no more disrespectful than those on the other side of the gym. Yes FCS won, but they were playing with 8 and were still down by one when the best players from FCS (Dycus, Maxwell, and the other) took the game over. Y'all definitely aren't winning this tournament, and will be lucky to even be in the championship game.

No they fouled the refs just didn't call it. The whole entire team couldn't guard Godwin, the refs let you hang on him slap him punch him with no calls most of the time. You don't have a player on the team that would be a pimple on his you know what but what you did have is 3 guys with striped shirts on to ensure victory. Luke Dycus is a COWARD!

Again MIDTN get that film before you send it out...Watch it closely and you'll see several calls NOT called on JC as well as FCS. And as far as Godwin goes, I said it earlier he is the best player in our region but his only flaw is he likes to fall on every shot TRYING to get a foul called. And yes when the refs see all the fake falling they won't call the close ones!

That's probably true. Pockets of the officials were probably padded well last night from the private school.

All FC did was shoot 51 free throws the refs gave to them. They made most of them and we made most of our 18 we were given. That was the only reason FC won

Again I hate to see a grown man cry...get it straight FCS 30-42 and JC 17-21. Say what you want but we hit only 17-28 in the 4th when JC was down 7+ the whole qtr trying to foul to get back in it. You said you were sending the film to TSSAA, need to watch it first!!!!

I am making this last post and moving on. I would like to address MidTnsportsfan long post on the 10 point possession deal. I went back and looked at the film that we videoed and the so called 10 point possession happened with about 2:30 left in the game. Your memory is vague because we opened up the 4th qtr with a 5 point lead and after scoring the first points of that qtr NEVER trailed by less than 5 the rest of the game so it wasn't a one point game when all that happened. On top of that we were stalling the ball when #22 tried to cut thru 2 of JC players to pass the ball, contact was made but if any foul would have been called there it would have been on either of the 2 JC players because both fouled him. The ball went to #11 who was fouled, while that foul was happening JC#44 pushed FCS#22 from behind not only once but twice and then FCS#22 turned toward him and went and got in his face (which I don't blame him one bit) and then the 3rd shove came from #44 and the T was called. He actually should have been tossed but wasn't. So #11 goes to the line and hits his 2 foul shots from the foul and 1-2 of the tech shots (3 pts)...we take the ball out of bounds and pass it to #12 who was open for a layup and got creamed on a flagrant foul (not a block shot). He hits 2 foul shots giving us 5 pts total from the so called 10 point possession. We take the ball out of bounds again but a walking call was called on #11 on the inbounds pass. So your 10 point possession never happened you never were closer than 5 points in the 4th qtr most of the time it was 7-9.

And as far as fouls go several more fouls could have been called on both teams in the 2nd half. There were 2-3 fouls called on JC that were late whistles and questionable calls in the 4th but there were also 2 no calls on JC crashing the boards on the offensive side that a blind ref could have called.

Like someone stated in a previous post. FCS has several go to players and JC relies on Godwin to carry 90% of the load. He did carry more than his load in this game its just that the other 10% never happened.
