  1. I was talking to a good friend today from the west side of the state. He said his wife found an official TN Wrestling Referee's Certification in a box of Cracker Jacks.

I guess this explains what was witnessed at the State Duals.

  2. i felt bad for the simpson kid who gave a up a penalty point with 5 seconds left. that ref is such a egotistical and wants everyone to know that he is reffing the match. a good ref and i dont think he is, should never be remembered.

wasn't this guy the same pumped up guy who dqed the 215 from cleveland last year in the finals??

all about him... what a shame for simpson

No it was not the same ref.

That ref is horrible, but Simpson should have been hit for stalling several times. Every time Johnson stood up Simpson threw in legs.

  3. Seems that you broke your rule of not ranking freshman this year huh?

Too many nationally proven freshman not to rank them this year. I won't make a habit out of it though.

I don't like doing it but in some cases it is just silly not to. However, things like 103... just not sure where those chips will fall yet. Heck I don't even know most of the starters yet.

Too many nationally proven freshman....???? Who are they...?????

  4. The JV Div. is the same as always, everone line up behind the big red machine of Baylor.

McCallie can talk about their team all they want to. Who's back, what weight they're going to wrestle,etc......it don't matter!!

    Baylor

    Father Ryan

    McCallie

    Christian Brothers

    Then everyone else....

  5. On the DII side of things, Baylor will be strong as always. They always have a way of reloading. Father Ryan, McCallie and the Brothers will still be behind Baylor trying to figure out who will be in second. I've heard several times that the Brothers have a strong frosh class coming in this year. Does anyone from the west have any details?

Don't let the Fly bother you. You had a fair and pointed observation. West TN wrestling was ecstatic to have you travel from the East to this tournament (and all other out of town teams that traveled). "WE" hope you will return in the future and "We" look forward to traveling to your backyard. Fly had a Clinton-Obamaisk response to your question....don't answer, but attack the person who dared question. I just hope ya'll stopped in at the Commissary and filled up on BBQ and Ribs, before you headed out.

    Thanks Jethro,

The Fly isn't gonna bother me......Flies are always involved with a bunch of sh........ oops, I mean .....crap!!

Hopefully I'll be back! Let me say again the tournament was great! The hosts were great.

    The BBQ is awesome!

  7. You guys are nuts. All we are tying to do is get better. Heck, we can't even compete with all you guys. If you don't like us getting better then stay on your side of the state. I bet we are not doing anything different than you guys are. /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />

Who is "WE" that's trying to get better? Not sure the exact number of teams that were there and where they were all from, but I can tell you what I observed. Shane and Rabbit (Soddy Daisy) are NOT high school coaches. Higher Calling (Cleveland) didn't even have a coach there, the wrestlers were coaching each other. West Tenn. (CBHS) Baker, Baucke, Hataway and House none of which are high school coaches. If CBHS, Cleveland and Soddy's coach was there, I must have missed them.

Who ever YOU are.......you are doing something different!! It's called breaking the rules in an attempt to get better!!

  8. Great trip to west side of the state! Great tournament with good competition and very well ran. Looks like the boys from the west are getting much better.

One thing I don't understand is how "known" high school coaches were allowed to coach their "own" kids. Correct me if wrong, but isn't this the period where high school coaches are not supposed to have "contact" or give instruction during matches or during a practice?
