  1. Alcoa, Austin-East, Goodpasture, Millan.

I agree that Alcoa will be the front runner. Teams like Milan and Goodpasture should be good. Goodpasture played alot of sophomores and juniors last year, and they had a freshman quarterback, so they have high hopes for next year. The thing about high school kids is that you never know!

  2. Cool man. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> I hope the new set up looks good as I also thought GP's current uniform was kind of...blah. It made Penn State look "flashy."

I heard over the weekend that they will be changing the helmet, thier home jersey won't have much change, but they are changing the away design.

  3. If you go and look there are multiple winged helmets out there. Compare Deleware and Michigan and you will see they are not the same winged helmets. The winged helmet pre dates Michigan and is used in many forms.

I know you are all knowing but perhaps a little homework on your part would at least be a start.

As for throwing the football, they will do more of that next year. I would say you could see 10 passing attempts per game. Maybe 12. It will be out of the wing t with the wings stepping an extra 3 to 4 feet out. The majority of the snaps will still be out of the base wing.

They will run the wing-t, but they are going to run the spread more often. At least that is what some of the players are saying. As far as the helmets, reguardless if it is designed after Michigan or Deleware, it will be a nice change for the boys.

  4. Who Are Tennessee's Top Players For Next Season In Any Class??? /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

Here are some of the players to watch for Goodpasture next year. These players are all going to top level camps this summer, and they all have a chance to make a huge impact!

Keenan Reynolds (#3) Sophomore QB - Started as a Freshman, can scramble and throw.

Corey Potter (#23) Junior RB/DB - Was injured most of last year, has speed and toughness.

Troy Nichols (#9) Junior WR/FS - 6' 1" and is fast. Is probably the fastest on the team, a pure athlete.

Cody Jones (#16) Junior WR/DB - 6' 2" and strong. Will stand out on defense.

Seth McFerrin (#29) Senior FB - Very tough, made all region last year.

    Stephon Dawson (#32) Senior FB/LB - Big, 6' 2" 235lbs, quick for size.

Drew Batson (#33) Junior LB - Tackling machine, was injured some of last year.

Glen Nabors (#46) Senior K/LB - Most dependable LB last year, was all region.

Parker Burton (#42) Junior LB - Has gotten stronger and improves each year.

Matt Ryman (#54) Junior OL/DT - 6' 1" 320lbs, should dominate next year. Has started since his Freshman year.

Deandre Carney (#77) Junior OL/DT - 6' 5" 300lbs, should be ready to take next step.

  5. i'm pretty sure the delaware helmets have the same design as michigan's. so like i said, please don't do it.

They are changing, and it will be a plus. The solid blue with a blue facemask needed to be changed, along with some kind of uniform update. I dont know if they are changing for home and away, but some kind of change is happening. I heard they will still run the wing-t, but they will spread out more next year to take advantage of thier strengths, which will be there passing game. I hope everyone had a great Christmas, and once again, I would like to thank Coach Martin and his staff for doing everything they can to improve the program.

  6. First of all, congradulations to all of the teams that made the playoffs this year! I was happy to hear about what Goodpasture Football is doing in 2009. There schedule includes their new region of 3A and 4A teams, and their non-region games are Whites Creek, Ravenwood, David Lipscomb, McGavock, and CPA. They are also going to scrimmage MBA. This is great news. Coach Martin continues to play tough teams who are in higher qualifications than we are. Along with playing traditional rivals like Lipscomb and CPA. They are also changing their uniforms. They are staying with the blue and yellow, but it will be changed to look like the university of Michigan. Nice. And as far as there scheme, I heard they might be switching to a 4-3? And a more spread passing offense. Can anyone confirm this? They will have alot of size on defense, and on offense, they have a good looking young quarterback, along with a good looking young wide receivers. Thanks to Coach Martin and his great staff for constantly looking for ways to improve the program!

  7. Hit this on Gann Road this morning.....When I got out of my truck i walked up to it and told it You gotta get off the tracks when the trains comin thru. It just had that "deer in the headlight look".. So I put it back on the truck, and drove to Rural King in MCK and showed the feline off..then got me some Joes BBQ at Huntingdon. Then I dropped it off at Johnnie Hale.

    The Cougar is just tired!

  8. Just like Huntingdon did to Jackson Christian.

Blue and Gold is Goodpastures colors, you will fit right in /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Benji Cunninghams stats for the 3 playoff games: 556 yards rushing, 9 TD's, 1 Kickoff Return for a TD, 15 yard average per carry. Hopefully he can keep it going! Go Cougars! Good luck and good health.

  9. What's up with the Tennesseean not even mentioning Goodpasture in the paper? I mean, it's like you guys don't even exist! I couldn't find one article even mentioning ya'll...maybe I'm looking in the wrong place??

Goodpasture did not get alot of pub this year from the Tennessean. They were considered to young, and alot of the bigger Nashville schools got the pub instead. Good luck to both teams today.

  10. if by everyone u mean their fans i know i seen it too but i had been saying all yr i thought them 2 was overated but i see your point

Thank you. It is getting closer to game time, and I cant wait to see two great teams battle it out. I wish everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving!

  11. This is a forum, where people give their opinions. IS ALL OPINIONS. GEEZ! Your right the boys will decide this on Friday, so why don't you take a chill pill. Just remember if someone doesn't agree with you its just their OPINION. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" BULLDOGS 28 GOODPASTURE 20

    Your OPINION has been noted.

  12. I don't remember any from CPA saying this years team was the best in 10 years.

Apparently you don't remember the 2000 team. Anyway, CPA knew that this years

team was not the best, but they excelled with what they had. Pre season and early season

injuries really hurt CPA but most returned before our season ended.

You started your post What does it matter? so why bring it up.

    Good Luck

    Good Point.

  13. i could have told u lewis and stewart werent as advertized but i had no idea about cpa but i agrree the boys that step on that field friday night will be the ones to settle it not us or anyone else

Sure you can tell me now. But during those weeks, everyone was saying this and that. I can show you the posts. So my point is, it does not matter what people say in life, it matters what they do! So good luck to both sides, may everyone come away healthy, and may the best team win.

  14. Talked to a GP fan who said this year's GP team is not near as talented as the 06 team. Good news for Milan was this years Milan team is WAY more talented than the 06 Milan team (more offensive weapons). Bad news is the winner has to play Alcoa.

Again, what does it matter? Does it matter if this years team is smaller or faster than Goodpasture's 06 team, or does it matter that Milan's 06 team had this, and the 08 team has that. Milan's uniforms were this, and Goodpasture's was that. The 06 field was painted like this, now its like that. WHO CARES! That has nothing to do with these boys and this game! Period! And you talked to someone who played a couple years ago that said this and said that. Now I know that the older you get, the bigger the stories and the better you get. So lets take that in perspective, OK! As far as this game, Lets see what happens Friday night. The past teams on both sides will not be on the sidelines! And remember, all we have heard all playoff season is that this years Stewart County team was different from past seasons. Then we heard that the undefeated Lewis County team was different from past seasons, then we heard that this years CPA team was the best in 10 years. So my point is, it does not matter what we hear or say, these boys will determine the outcome! End of story!

  15. Gp Has a little depth, but its a drop off from the 1st string. The problem this year is we are so young, but the last 3 weeks we have played very well, I know this game will be an ole fashion barn burner, It usually is.

That is the reason they have been playing so well the past few weeks. The young bucks are stepping up.

  16. Starting O-line isn't that big. 1 OT is all state the other might be as good. The Gs and C are all about 5'10"-6' 230. TE is smaller than most. D-line is a little bigger. Soph DE Christian Colemen(6'4" 240) will play D1. Other DE goes about 6'3" 210. 2 DTs are 6'3" 240 the other is 5'10" 220. Cody Rodgers at DT is all state caliber.

I have heard good things about them, as well as the DL of Goodpasture.
