  1. Does Milan have any size on their OL and DL?
  2. "Poor ole'" West TN does not need any help according to JohnnyG. You guys are gonna beat us by 40+ points and put in your second stringers so we can score! Right!
  3. Goodpasture has several backs that all bring something different to the table. #20 is the other wing opposite of Benji. He is quick and fast, but not a fast as Benji. They have two fullbacks that play. #29 is quick and agressive. #32 is big and strong, and can run. There QB can make the throws that Coach Martin ask's him to, but he can scramble. The widereceivers are #17, #9, and #28. #17 is there possesion receiver, #28 is another possesion receiver, and #9 is there fastest WR, but he is the young one. They have a good line, and they do not beat themselves.
  4. Hopefully that wont happen, and Goodpasture will finally get over the hump in the boro.
  5. Just keep talking. We prefer to let our actions do our talking!
  6. Who cares if this team is as good as 06, or if Milan's team is better than 07, or if the 07 Goodpasture team had a better defense, or if Milans running back is better than there 04 team, or if they had better looking uniforms in 2005, etc............. What does it have to do with Friday's game? Each team is different, each year is different. All any team can do is play the teams they are put up against in the playoffs! So if Goodpasture is your alma mater, support them, and let's see what happens! Good luck and good health to both teams.
  7. Thank you. And so does Milan. And that is why these programs are where they are!
  8. It should be a great game, and I just wanted to check with DSM10 if it was worth showing up. I think these young men on both sides of the ball deserve more respect than that. And who ever wins, I will be rooting for them to represent Central and West Tennessee and win the gold ball. And even though we have lost the last three, I think our boys can hold there head high because there was 30 teams in the playoffs each of those three years that did not make it to the state game.
  9. I agree that Alcoa is the most talented team in 2A. But when you are talking about teenagers, and you are playing ONE game, anything can happen. Heck, look at the Titan game this weekend.
  10. And Goodpasture likes Cunningham's chances! Have you seen Benji Cunningham's stats for the playoffs? Wow! Over 600 yards rushing, 1 punt return for a touchdown, 1 kickoff return for a touchdown, 8 TD's total, and he is averaging over 10 tackles a game on defense. And by the way, he runs a legit 4.35 forty!
  11. They are doing great. His dad is a coach for Goodpasture, and Kukendyle plays strong safety. He is #14.
  12. Goodpasture has beaten three very good teams in the playoffs this year. How can you say that an undefeated team with 2 Mr.Football candidates is not very good? Or a CPA team with a great coaching staff and great athletes which was ranked the #3 2A team is no good? And by the way, all of them have been on the road! So if you are a Goodpasture fan, I would hate to see what they would have to do to get your respect. And you are right about one thing, they are young. Hambrick was out, but one sophomore (#9) and one junior (#28) stepped up big. Also another sophomore (#16) stepped up at corner for him. Hambrick should be ready to go for Milan. There have been alot of posters talking about Benji Cunningham, I have as well. He is our leader, and he is a special talent. But do not think that this team is playing the way they are just because of him. The difference between this team earlier in the year and now is that the TEAM is playing better. Look at the tape, the blocking is much improved, the quaterback play is consistant, and the defense is tightening up. They have a solid field goal kicker, and as usual, Coach Martin and his coaching staff will have them prepared. What we have seen is the development of young players, playing there role, and cutting down on mistakes. Several of these young underclassmen could be stand out players for other teams, but Coach Martin does a great job of preaching TEAM first, and these boys have accepted thier roles and performed. Look at the tape! Benji Cunningham is a difference maker! But only if his teammates are doing there job!
  13. I am sure Coach Martin and his staff will be watching pleanty of game tape on Milan.
  14. I am glad you were there, because I was to. And as far as the "big bad running back", there are some people who think he is pretty good, along with about 10-12 D1 schools offering him full rides! And I find it funny that a team can travel on the road, beat them, and you still say they are not better than Lewis. I guess I am just confused. I thought that you let the teams play, give them there respect, and let the best team win. I ran into 4 to 5 players from Lewis last night at the CPA game, and they all were very respectfull and said what a good team Goodpasture was. Funny hugh. And as far as running once and staying out for a couple of plays, Benji played the whole game both ways, he also returned a kickoff for a touchdown, and returned punts. And as far as Milan goes, why don't we let these young men play a game of football and see what happens!
  15. All Goodpasture had heard this playoff season is how each team they played was "different" from thier teams in the past. Stewart County was suppose to be thier best team in years. Lewis County was 11-0 with two Mr. Football candidates and a BIG offensive line. CPA was ranked in the top 3 in 2A, and had quality athletes all over the field. And Goodpasture's team is young and "is not even close the thier 2006 team". My point is that you never know. And even though teams are different every year, I think there is something to be said for teams that are consistantly good year in and year out, regardless of classification. We will respect every team we play, and we will overlook none.
  16. That is my pont, 9 years ago. Even though Goodpasture has lost the last 3 state title games, they have been there! Without being insulting to the hard work and dedication these young men on both sides have shown this year, why dont we let them play and see what happens? And even though Goodpasture has 3 state titles and 3 consecutive state championchip games, we never take anyone lightly! Maybe that is why we have done so well?
  17. Be careful! When was the last time Milan made it past the semi-finals?
  18. I understand. Every team has a couple, and I do not think that the majority of the Milan fans think that way. Congradulations to both teams for making it this far, and we are looking forward to Friday!
  19. I think the Milan fans should not make there plans to Murfreesboro until the game is over. This Goodpasture team is very exciting to watch right now. They are lead by Benji Cunningham. If he is not one of the top five players in Tennessee regardless of classification, something is wrong! He had 4TD's, and he easily could have had another. Benji is unbelieveable, but these young cougars are really starting to get it. And at the right time. Our boys were not suppose to be here based upon there overall team age (this was suppose to be their rebuilding year), but they just kept working hard! This is definately Coach Martin's best coaching job in several years. Goodpasture is big, young, and fast, so you might want to take them seriously!
  20. Is everyone healthy for both teams?
  21. OK it is gameday! What are your predictions?
