  1. Very good article in the Tennessean this morning that has done a good job capturing the behind the headlines at CPA football this year. It speaks to the spirit and soul of this team.

More Than Conquerors - "What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against." Romans 8:31

    Go Lions!

  2. I see Milan in this one by 2 to 3 td's. Why Pearl Cohn just a little better than average team only won 7 games. CPA won't come to the pound and beat Milan it won't happen! Nobody seen Milan puttin up 38 on Fairview either but they did! Milan is playing very well now and just don't see CPA beating Milan. I mean no disrespect to CPA but Milan ain't no Pearl Cohn! It would not surprise me one bit to see Milan win it all!

Man it is funny to see people that are so blinded by their rural love for football miss reality. CPA is coming to smack your hometown team in the mouth, period. Pearl Cohn was on their heals last night in the last two quarters because CPA took it to them. CPA is hungry. This is not gonna be what you have seen so far. Better kill ya a fatted calf, your gonna need the energy.

  3. what do ya'll think. these teams have never seen each other as far as i know. but with the dawgs playing at johnnie hale, i'll take milan in this one. 28-7.

Are you kidding me? I don't know what you are smoking, but have you noticed who CPA has played and beaten? Those boys are in for a game. Wishful thinking ends next week.

  4. Fairview is peaking at the right time right now and is looking as good on O and D as they have all year.

This will def be a different game than last year I would say and am looking for the Fairview to win by 15 and face Pearl Cohn in the semis with a first class trip to Cookeville on the line Thanksgiving week!

I hate to tell you but it will be CPA, not Pearl Cohn your next opponent. Hope you are there with us.

  5. This should be a fun game. Isn't this what high school football is all about? Kids playing and competing and learning life lessons. We adults put too much importance in it. Let's just pray for both teams and enjoy the game. I can't think of a better team to play, just hope the outcome is better than in years past. Can't wait till next week.

  6. The big call on the chop block was determinded to be before the punt by the officials.

Playing CPA wouldn't get any team ready for Pearl Cohn's athleticism. They gift wrapped 14 points and gave them to you on a platter last week. I doubt you'll be as fortunate in two weeks.

PC played better down the stretch. SC's schedule had nothing in the world to do with the outcome of this game.

We'll see big"RED" , we'll see. at least we are still playing.

  7. Haven't seen PC play this year. I know they got a tough schedule. PC drilled us pretty good last year. The players want alittle retribution. This isn't the same team they played last year. The O had a tough time all year last year and couldn't move the ball. We had to rely on the D for most of our games. This year the O is running on all fours and the D is better than last years. Owls got this one this year.

    SC- 27

    PC - 7

Take it from someone that has seen PC play, you are in for a game. They are the best team we played all year. You are in for a tough game. Better bring your A game or you will be watching in round 2.

  8. Best Quad: 3

    Weakest Quad: 1

Best 1st rd. game: SC vs. Pearl Cohn

Best 2nd rd. potential game: CPA vs. Goodpasture. Runnerup: Milan vs. Camden

Easiest road to quarters: Sullivan North

Best seed group: 2 (Milan, CAK, Goodpasture,Elizabethton)

Best 3rd round potential game: Alcoa vs. CAK

    Best 3rd seed: CPA

    Best 4th seed: Alcoa

    Best 5th seed: Tyner

    Best 6th seed: Austin East

    Best 7th seed: No idea

Best 8th seed: Pearl Cohn by far

Best 3rd round potential game: CPA vs. SC Come on Owls, make this happen!

  9. Well Pearl Cohn losing just made things extremely tough for Smith County. Smith County won't get that easy game in the 1st round like some other teams around the state will get. From the looks of things Pearl Cohn has been up and down all season. I know PC is a good football team, but I am having a hard time judging how good they really are.

Smith County will have their hands full with PC. They are fast, hard hitting, and athletic. I don't see SC beating them, but I hope they do. Would love to see a CPA SC match-up.

  10. OK it is gameday! What are your predictions?

My prediction, "worth the $7 cost of admission." I think it is going to be a dog fight. Excitement on both sides of the ball. You don't want to miss this one. No better place to watch a high school football game.

    21-24 CPA

  11. Does any of this matter, ALCOA will get another gold ball.

Well I guess it does matter, you guys are fighting over the silver ball. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

Really? It only took David one little rock to bring down Goliath! Never stop believing!

  12. I agree hcspike, I don't know why your coach didn't call the option more. I don't think we stopped DJ all night.

I said that night I was glad they didn't call the option more. I think I could have called a better game and I don't even know the plays. Your kids here hard nosed, hit hard and played well.

Best of luck to you the rest of the school year. Your boys have nothing to be down about.

  13. It is interesting to read all the statements on this thread.....but the bottom line is this, "it is going to take 16-19 year-old kids making plays in a pressure game to win." We all know what that can be like. With all the emotion and excitement of the playoffs, anyone can and will make mistakes. If the weather is good, I don't see anyone beating CPA until the final game at Murfreesboro, if the weather is bad, it could be anyones game.

We at CPA are praying for clear skies and a dry field. I just hope it is a great game. I think ultimately the best team will come out on top. You don't get this far without having a good team. Each game will be tough until someone holds up that Gold Ball in the "Boro".

  14. I agree with you totally CPA4Ever. This seems like a team of destiny. The improvement over the past 4 weeks has been amazing. They are flying after the ball and having FUN.

I had to register just to be able to post because of the excitement this team is bringing.

This team has a chance to make it to the "Boro".

Only time will tell if they can continue the confident improvement. It is the most explosive offense I have ever seen.
