  1. Hey I can see myself in that one. Brings back memories...
  2. 06 Smith game was fun. We heard several Smith fans talking trash as we walked out for warmups, they seemed to be quieter after the first half though...
  3. Jim Jones action? Not quite. But still this means the world to a lot of our guys and I had hoped you could appreciate how big Alcoa football is to them without resorting to mass suicide jokes. But your jest tells me one thing: you guys dont want it like we want it. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> Oh and believe me I'm not trying to say you should'nt support your team. What I am saying is that you should'nt be thinking that Alcoa is like any other team you've played so far. "We've heard this all year and we've still come out on top" doesn't apply here. You haven't played a team of this calibur this year. I'm glad you guys have had a good year and I hope you guys put up a fight, God knows we could use a close one. But the fact still remains that you are talking about us like you know us. You don't. One last thing, super studs isn't really the word I would use. More like dedicated hard workers with a fire lit under them and excellent coaching to boot. None of these kids came out of the womb making one handed catches and pancake blocks, I'm willing to put Alcoa's training regimen up against any school in the nation and it would match up pretty well. I for one entered the program "struggling to lift a bag of dog food" as Brian Nix would say, and left it having gone up against some of the best linemen in 2A and holding my own. Champions are MADE in Alcoa, not BORN. Oh and I hope I do find out when you guys get up here. Stop singin it and start bringin it.
  4. You see MCHSFAN, this is the kind of statement that shows your lack of understanding about high school football. This is EXACTLY why Alcoa will not allow an inferior MC team to come into Goddard and leave with a win. I know from experience that anything less than a State Title is viewed by the players as UNACCEPTABLE. Most of these guys would rather saw off their own foot and chow down on it than go without another state ring, and they'd crawl through heck and back out again with a smile on their face for it. Now on the other hand we have MC. The attitude that a loss in the semis would still mean a good year is bordering on insanity around these parts, but it seems that when it comes to football second best is okay for you guys. To MC, losing isn't the end of the world. To Alcoa its pretty dadgum close. That's what we people in the real world call "motivation." This is the difference between the Alcoas and the Maryvilles of HS football and the "pretty good" teams like MC. And what exactly makes you believe you guys can pull off "a upset of the year"? Name me one player on your roster who has the talent, execution, work ethic, or experience of a Sam Thompson or Tyler Robinson or Cameron Foster or Jaron Toney or Daniel Cline or Jeff Hickman or any starter on this team. Name one. I'll tell ya there arent many in the state who can match up to these guys. They eat, sleep, and dream Alcoa football year round for 4 years. And you think a scrappy underdog is going to step onto Goddard and take what they have worked towards for a lifetime away from them? Have fun in Fantasyland dude, we'll be here to wake you up come Friday with a piping hot plate of reality.
  5. Yeah the middle school did go undefeated this year. Doesn't look like this train's gonna slow down any time soon.
  6. Not to take away from what Marion has done so far this year, but i really dont see them coming up here and beating Alcoa. Dont think that just because the Alcoa fans on CoachT can get a little cocky at times that the boys on the field are going to show up unprepared. Believe me, from my personal experience Alcoa overlooks NO ONE. The Tornadoes will be well prepared and hungry on friday night. Barring some sort of freak occurance or act of God I have no doubt that Alcoa will come away with the W. Once again, I'm not trying to put down MC in any way, but if these boys have any of the Alcoa pride me and other past players have had they will take it as a personal challenge that MC even dared to come over to Goddard and step on the turf. And on top of that, nothing motivates you as a senior quite like the idea of winning a 4th State Championship. These guys will show up to play, and if you've got anything but one of those Alcoa silver bullets strapped on your head, thats bad news.
