  1. Oh my bad it must have been when we went up 21-14 that I turned it on. Bc we had the ball up 21-14 then we turned it over deep in our own territory for a quick KC score to tie it at 21. My bad. Anyway good luck to KC. Any feedback on the WH crowd, or the crowd overall?
  2. A little late but wanted to congratulate KC on the win over White House last Friday. They really impressed me with the 2nd half performance. I just caught the 2nd qtr on the radio over the internet. I was confident when I turned it on and we had just went up 21-7. Then we got the ball back, but turned it over near our own endzone. KC scored quick and it was 21-14 before I knew it. I went to watch some TV and came back a few minutes later and it was tied at 21. Then we hit the long FG before half to give us a 24-21 halftime lead. I turned it off after that and didn't see the score until the next day. What a 2nd half performance KC must have had. The 1st half we seemed to score pretty easy, what did KC do the 2nd half to shut us down? Also, I assume KC ran all over us. Was it the speed? Anyways good win and good luck this weekend. Hope you pull it off. What were your impressions of the White House team? Also how was the crowd? Did the WH folks show up big time and were they loud?
  3. WH is good b/c all of their coaches not just the head coach. They have a very good, and creative OC. He doesn't do alot of trick plays unless they are set up for them. He calls a good sound game, not taking wild chances that could result in turnovers. We ran 1 trick play vs. SC, it was the hook and ladder on 3rd or 4th and long in SC territory and ran it to perfection for a first down. WH does not have trouble with misdirection, not anymore than every other team has. KC better hope they stay out of 3rd and long situations b/c they don't want to pass on thie WH team. SC fans have to be some of the biggest cry babies I have ever seen. (other than portland and greenbrier fans) They think b/c they are a bigger school from a bigger city it's their right to beat WH. Well we have proved we are a better program and will continue to e the status quo in Sumner county.
  4. Yea but you represent a school and town when you post on here as a WH fan. And when you mis-spell every other word it makes us look like idiots and the school look bad regarding the education it provides. Not all people are happy with being incompetint redneck idiots that don't care about education. And the WH moron that said our motto is get er done.... please drive into a tree really fast. Not all WH residents and alumni are idiots like alot of the ones that post on here.
  5. It is obvious KC does a better job getting their players names out there than WH. WHalumni and I are in agreement on how poor that admin. and coaches do on the recruiting front for the WH players. They don't do much if anything at all to get their players to the next level. The White House program is a solid as they come and in built around building confidence and knowing what to do and when to do it. So don't take the WH fans confidence as arrogant, at least not all of them. I can promise the coaches have seen offenses like KC runs, they have been facing different variations of the wing T for over 22 years. SC had plays split out in their wing T formations also, probably not as much as KC will but they do run it. I'm sure KC will run the offense much much better than SC. WH is a balanced team that runs a pro style offense using the I-formation as it's base formation, but also running lots of shotgun, Ace formation, maryland, and power I formations as well. I'm sure that KC will have some of the best athletes WH has faced this year, or they would be eliminated already. But WH (just like KC) has seen comparable athletes scrimmaging Lipscomb and Gallatin, and playing Beach, Pearl Cohn, alcoa and SC. Should be a great game. High Scoring.
  6. Only 1 WH fan said we have 10 D-1 prospects. They are obviously a homer, and oblivious to reality. We do not have 10 D-1 prospects. Maybe 4-5 total D-1 prospects but maybe only 1 or 2 will be mid major or higher recruits. Most will be lower level D-1 or D-II (whatever they call it now) recruits. Not many instate programs will have 10 D-1 recruits in 1 year. Also, KC fans just b/c you have some smaller D-1 schools looking at some of your players does not mean they are all going on to D-1 either. Just b/c they are recruiting them does not mean they are going to offer. We will probably have alot of kids going to Cumberland, Union, Carson-Newman, etc. type schools to play ball, while a couple will make it to D-1. We have twins brothers that are on UT's roster. They were both walk ons but one has since earned a scholarship. Other than those 2 I don't know of any WH players currently on BCS conference rosters. But there are some in smaller conferences and NAIA and D-II.
  7. I wish I could make this game as it has the makings of a classic. I still considerring the 1000 mile drive from Ft. Lauderdale, FL. I really hope WH feels like they are getting no respect and comes out fired up. I know they will be fired up regardless but this team can score alot of points very fast. If KC gets behind can they pass to catch up? I know WH can, but can KC?
  8. When you have teams that run 98% of the time, they are going to get yards on the ground. What matters is if they can turn those yards into points which station camp could not do. You might call it something other than the wing T but it is the same basic offense. Wing T, wishbone hybrid. It is the same run man in motion hand off to FB, RB, QB keeper, option, option pass, or reverse. They might call it something else and run a little different variation of it but it is the same basis. And you defend it basically the same way. White House doesn't get as much recruiting attention as alot of other schools b/c the WH admin. does not help at all with post HS lives. They do not make recruiting video's, they do not get players names out to big time programs, the guidance counslers do jack squat with college for students. They have a good school and good teachers but when it comes to athletes getting noticed by big programs it rarely happens. It is up to the parents to do anything if they want their kid to get noticed.
  9. Please stop saying coach P as WH's coach is also caoch P.. Coach Jeff Porter - White House. The wing T is difficult to defend, but when you have faced it for 20+ years like White House, and been successful defending it for 20+ years it does little to scare opponents.
  10. Definitly both...But I think what makes the difference is no doubt coaching. There is not a staff in the state on any level that can out coach this WH staff. The only time they lose is b/c of talent. If the talent is close WH will win due to coaching.
  11. Ok get over the WH fan claiming 10 D-1 prospects. I am a diehard WH fan, but not a homer. Too much haha. We probably have 2-3 players that could play on the lower D-1 level and maybe 1 at the mid D-1 level. We will probably have 2 go D-1 and 3-4 more that will play D-11 or NAIA. And to say some of those kids are the best WH has ever had is a stretch as the 96-98 teams had very good players that were bigger and faster than any WH player now. Blaine Boone would be hard pressed to start for the 1997 team. Matt Parker and Chad Neal are good but to say they are the best ever at WH is a stretch. We are a very very well coached and very very well disciplined team. If the way to shut down an offense relies on committing to your assignments and staying with them, then their is no other team better than WH regarding Discipline. That is what our coaches preach and instill in the players from Day 1 (and even in Middle School where WH has a very good program with the same coaching style and discipline) I don't expect WH to dominate or get an easy win, b/c obviously KC is a good team. But if the way to shut down KC's offense is be disciplined and stay to your assignments KC might be in trouble. They have not faced a team as disciplined as WH i will bet that. I will also bet KC has not played a team as good as WH. (that is not saying KC can't or won't win) just that WH is that good. WH on the other hand has played a team as good as or better than KC in Alcoa. Should be a good game, that could go either way.
  12. White House is a very well coached team (the coaching staff has been together for 20 years). They are also a very disciplined team. We have made the playoffs 17 straight years, and 24 out of the past 25 years. We won the title in 1997 with a very talented balanced team, beating Memphis Melrose. That Melrose team had cedric Wilson and kendall moorehead, both NFL players, on it. White House will not be out coached and could win tight games on coaching alone. We lost ion the semi-finals in 2004, losing to undefeated Melrose. (our only loss of the year) We have a very balanced team with a really good QB that can throw the ball, and 2 great RB's. We alos have multiple WR's that can make big catches and a very good OL that can be dominating. We run a pro style offense, with a power I variation. We can throw and we can definitly run. On defense we are also very good. We face the wing T formation more times than any other formation as our arch rivals portland and greenbrier both run it, as well as Station Camp and a couple other teams in our region. We know how to defend the wing T, and have lots and lots of experience facing it. The scoring differential someone brought up is not really showing the whole story as there were at least 4 games the starters were pulled at halftime. And for at least 2-3 more games the starters were pulled by the 4th qtr. Coach Porter will not run up the score but he will make sure it is out of reach. Classy coaching and program overall. I hope for KC sake they can contain both the run and pass b/c we can beat you with both. We have good size on both lines and will not be pushed around by anybody. We have shaped up alot and gotten better since the Alcoa loss, and would love a rematch with them. But that can't happen. This is a experienced team that has been the underdog on the road and won before. I don't know much about KC, other than what people have wrote on here. They run a wing T offensive set. White House has faced this many times and will know how to defend it. They have alot of speed. WH has alot of speed to and knows how to defend faster teams. We are very well coached on containing speedy offenses. KC seems to have a good defense but have they faced a offense that isn't one dimensional this year? WH can pass and run very efficiently. If you commit to stop one the other can win the game. We have had games with multiple 100+ yards rushers and games with multiple 100+ yard receivers. The QB has thrown for 400+ yards in a single game this year so he can beat you with his arm. WH has a very good fanbase and travels well. The guy that said station camp out numbered WH fans is an idiot as it was 4-1 WH fans easily. We will not bring anywhere close to 5,000 but I would definitly expect 1,000-1,500 WH fans to show up and be very very loud. This is a good ole boy fan base that will drown out the home fans if they aren't loud from before the game starts to afterwards. Without knowing too much about KC I'm not going to predict a WH blowout win or vice versa as more than likely it will be a close game. I think it will be high scoring. It will be hard to keep WH under 28 points. If KC gets behind they better hope they can pass. If WH gets a lead and forces KC to go away from their running game KC could be in trouble. I say White House wins 28-17 or somewhere around there. But that is without knowing much about KC. They could be (and probably are) a very good team and could easily pull out the W. I see a very physical tight game. KC better be ready to get down and dirty in the trenches b/c WH will be coming out to punch them in the mouth and let them know early how the game will be. Very physical.
