I don't think you fully grasp the greatness that is Maryville High School football; those other programs don't even compare.

Hey, there's nothing to laugh out loud about. They are unbeatable, the single greatest high school program in the U.S. Webb, or any other team they play, might as well not even show up.

Of course Maryville is going to win; they are the greatest team in the world with the greatest head coach in the world. There is no possible way they can lose!

ok my fault for bringing up the alcoa situation; it is clerly a losing battle. so i'll just focus on the heritage program as is.

You see, there is your first problem. HHS cannot control what they do have. All you want to do is blame somebody else for your problems instead of moving forward. If HHS would just do that and get the players out of the hallways progress would be made.

If the county would just make a commitment to football, maybe there wouldn't be any emigration and kids from Alcoa could come to your school for free. Ever think about that?

I'm not complaning about anything; people have been complaining for years and it hasn't changed anything, so complaning is pointless. I'm sick and tired of hearing about the great and almighty alcoa who play at the 3a level with kids from all over the county. Then you want to sit there and act like you gave hhs a qb because he played where he was suppose to is a joke. Alcoa is about to win their 7th straight state title, can you name one of those teams that didn't have any county kids on the team?

you gave us a startinng qb? are you kidding me? you mean he played at the high school he was suppose to play for. and your starting qb should have been playing for us too. i would truly like to see an alcoa team that played with only alcoa city kids and all the county kids played for the county schools.

I agree and disagree about the talent coming back. I went to two of the hertiage games including one JV game and they actully do not look that bad. I believe could be a four win season if you all could get an upset in there somewhere. Once again until you all manage to beat WB it is going to be hard for anyone to take Heritage serious. I do not know much about the freshman situation down there though so after this next year you all could have some serious issues. How did Newman do against West?

Newman did pretty good against West. He made some pretty good decisions and did a great job running from the qb position.

Heritage is in for a long, long dry spell. No quarterback to speak of coming back. Offensive line will continue to be very weak. The Cline kid is the best athlete they have coming back, but he cannot do it all. A weak freshman class adds nothing to the future. It will take a miracle for anything resembling a winning season to materialize at HHS in the next five years.

I disagree. Heritage is only losing one offensive linemen from last year, and will have two who were hurt last year back for next season. They have Justin Newman who played qb against west, and didn't do a bad job, and they have several other qb's who could probably play. they are returning cline and their second string rb who has the potential to be a really good player. I feel like they have the potential to be pretty good next season.

How does everyone feel about Heritage? Where do they need to improve? Are they in the right direction?

well since this is about blount county schools, and not just william blount, what are anyone's thoughts about heritage.

I played against a Tommy Rewis team and watched his teams a few times. Great man and Good Coach i say give him the nod.

we've played karns, south doyle,lc, and seymour.

Maryville rolls easy in this one! Heritage has a pretty good tough runner at the running back position.. good athlete! ... heritage is all run and not much of a threat at the passing game at all. Maryville has to much power offensivly and deffensivly and will win this game with ease! Just to many weapons for maryville and heritage wont be able to keep up in this one.. Good luck to both teams!

Micael cermack from heritage. leads the county in tackles by about 20.

seymour cant throw the ball and heritage is great and stopping the run. i just worry about when they play a team that can throw.

i talked to coach rewis last week and he said he just had an interview at ravenwood and is planning on coaching there next season.

Heritage already has a GREAT quarterback coach.....he is the Offensive Coord......

both coach young and coach hendrix have coached me at one point and i believe heritage will be fine with either one.

I know Tyler Edmonds is still in baseball, I don't know where the other kid that played last year Tyler Copland is.

I also heard that a new kid was going to try out at QB.?????

thanks. last i heard edmonds doesnt want to play qb next year, he may not want to play at all. 15 didnt look to bad might need to work on his arm strength in the off seson.

Well, I will have to say I truyly enjoyed watching the first day of spring practice. It had to be one of the most organized, productive practices I have seen in along time. The energy was high and even heard a few pads pop....

No one is saying that Heritage is going to win a State Championship next year...but I guarantee you they will be much better than you have seen them in many years. If you have been around that program at all you would know that negativity has taken over that school...no more! I really believe you will be surprised next year.

well since i was apart of the program for 4 years under coach rewis, i know alittle bit about the negativity thats around heritage. i guess the point i was oringally trying to make was, everyone thinks heritage is going to be alot better just because there has been a coaching change. everyone thought the same when coach rewis was brought in and i think people forget about that.
