since LA Shake up and half the season played what does it look like now?

I have heard they were playing pretty good BB prior to the holiday break. I Have not been able to see them this season. Thanks!

Just reading your report. We have been spanked as we were being taken to the wood shed. Believe me I know the feeling! I am sure LA will have it together. A 66-55 loss at LA I don't think that was a bad showing. We will just have to see. I will go ahead and leave a hankie at the front desk for you just in case. You never know.

Oldkoger- Midway through the third quarter come on! What- the first and second string refused to play. LA'S Ego will not let that happen and you can go bet on that! If LA had scouted Beech they should have known 1-3-1 that's Beech from start to finish. I admire LA they will play the big boys but when you get spanked wipe the tears away and get ready for the next game.

Santa does not have to bring me anything this year. I have enjoyed this sport and these people on CoachT! You can not learn if you do not ask or talk about it. I still think 8AA still the best round ball played with the best fans for their teams. That's why it's the best!!! Good luck to All. THANKS COACHT!!!

YUCKAMUCK - Why should Coach Melton have to self-motivate. He his suppose to do that to his players! I do not think I said I hated Coach Melton, In fact is a good coach that gets what he want's from his players.

If you were @ LA against Cannon County Coach Melton was beside himself. At half time to the end of the game he was as lost has a 2 dollar bird dog! He had no ideal what was going on. It was not only that game it was also against Dekalb I was there. What is tearing him up -- NOT BLOWING EVERYONE OUT!!! TURN OUT THE LIGHTS THE PARTIES OVER ! LA is very good but not the only good team in the district.

There was no can opened tonite! LA was LUCKY with a win and yes I said LUCKY! Turnovers made by Dekalb against themselves not forced by LA I think was the difference. I may be wrong, and I am sure I will told that I am. LA's defence was not what I expected also the rebounding. Not a very good game on either side or not what I would have expected.

Whats wrong sweetwater? Did we not get enough hugs growing up or has LA's dominance in 8aa made your sweetwater turn sour? I did pick LA by 20+ and did say they would open a can. I was wrong but we did win and LA is the best team in 8aa. So just get in line and take your spanking again, by 1 point or 20 its still a win WOOOOOOH!!

LA 10 or less! LA was picked 15+ against Cannon County! (DID NOT HAPPEN) LA with the size but playing in Dekalb and I think Dekalb is ready to get Started. LA better watch out if Dekalb shoots good with good point on point defence. GOOD LUCK TO ALL

LA is good no doubt about it. In a previous post if LA is 6-3 which playing their 10th was coach Melton out coached in those 3 losses! I don't think so. You are going to have to think of something a little better than that! Both Rigsby and Melton are very good coaches! Cannon County down 2 points with 2:38 remaining. I can see LA coming out with another 7! It was a good win for LA and it still can be a good lost for Cannon County. From some of these post, playing against LA we are in the big time! I feel so honored!!!

Congratulations LA on the win. IMO, the best game that I have saw LA play. Perfect game.....no but they are improving and thats all one can ask. Cannon Co. as expected was a very worthy opponent and played tough. Folks in the district (other than CC folks) are goona get tired of hearing "Davenport this" "Davenport that"....fierce competitor. Looking forward to coming to Woodbury. Good luck until the LA game.

 

**On a side note an "average" York team beat Dekalb County tonight by 11. They must have played their "A" game.

Davenport put in 29!!! Ramsey good not great at this time!!! And points after turn overs you can not win games playing like that like Cannon County played. Ask coach Melton how worried he was 2 points ahead with 2:38 in the 4th!!!

I saw coach Rigsby take out his starting 5 in the start of the 3rd against a very good single A Forrest team. They could not rebound play defence or even break the screen. The second 5 could do all that and more and still stay within 1 point at the end of the quarter. In the 4th both sets began to run smooth and play ball like they were taught. If Cannon County can have a good shooting nite 45-55% LA's Defence better have the A Game. They are not in West Tn. anymore!

Thank goodness were not in west TN anymore! If you are saying CC will give us more problems than Melrose then just go ahead and believe that. You will have a lonnnng drive home!! BE SAFE!!! Did you really think you were going to Melrose and beat them in there own back yard! LA WAS WAY OUT OF THERE LEAGUE! Now they are back to earth. LA may do it tonite and then again they may not. May be wrong - but I would not pick a score in this one!!!

What in your opinion is the most important in basketball if not the starting line up? You don't think the best players are put out there to start?

 

good question. I do think the most effective players should start. but I don't think its the most important thing in basketball. That could be a number of different things at different times of the game or practice. Endless possibilities there.

In other news, York is very athletic. LA is the better team, and played a pretty poor game, period. Cannon will come gunning and all, but I see LA as the #1 team in the district still. Rest assured that Melton will have his group ready. Sounds like trouble in the LA camp if a question is raised about the operation of the team. By the way you just described ever sport in the TSSAA system in Tennessee. If they have a problem and cannot play together has a team it will be a long season!

This should be two good games, I have lots of respect for the Cannon Co teams. I do believe LA could win both games by 15+. The home court will help as it would be alot harder to win in Cannon Co. Good luck to both teams and hope teams stay injury free!

You are correct! LA will be hard to beat on any hardwood. I still believe Cannon County can do what nobody expects! PLAY BALL

York didnt compete too well last year, but i do look for a more competitive team this year. I just dont think playing pc close makes them hard to beat, LOL!! They need to earn that title, right now LA is the only team in 8AA who has earned it. And from what i have seen from Freshmen Ramsey and Mccoin, and our sophmores we will have that title for a while!!

What are you thinking!!! Mama always said you can get to big for your britches! La is good I did't say great! Untill later in the season I want to see. LA has not deserved anything yet nor has any other team in 8AA to early in the season. What title? Give me a full report!!

 

Dont want to highjack the YORK thread (as I believe they will be better this season with Wright back at coach)...but the title is "DISTRICT CHAMPS". I can tell you a little as far as a report but Tuesday night will tell a better story. Come on down and bring your 6-12 signs...

Livingston Academy's 1st home game (yes I did say "home game") will be next Tuesday night against York. After logging some 1900 miles on the road, the Cats and their fan faithful will get to enjoy the comforts of home for the first time this season. Nice job last night against the Cavaliers. We had some shakey moments, but were able to play through it and bounce back. GO H-O-G-E-Y-E !

In the start of the season there was no shakey moments in sight for LA. I know they have played some very good teams on the road but they had better watch who is playing in their own back yard! Anyone can be beat any one at any given nite. Good luck to all in 8AA!!!

Any Info on York Institute? They are usually pretty tough

Maybe if the rest of 8AA catches up, it will be worth talking about. Also, last time I checked, LA is in 8AA, so in an 8AA thread, I would think LA could be talked about. There is no reason you can't get on here and talking about your Cubs. Thanks for acknowledging me by the way.
