  1. Is she a senior and if so where is she going to play,on a side note Daniel Puckett is having a solid season.
  2. Mcewen will beat HC by at least 15,it really doesn't matter because Forrest is 25 points better than Mcewen and MTCS is 15 better.
  3. Cooksey is going to step up and play a great game, and HC wins by 4.
  4. First Team Malcolm Smith-MVP-CA Ross Albright-Heritage David Woodard-ER Ethan Dillard-HC Martin Smith-CA Second Team Heath Dyer-CA Clayton Cook-ER Eric Cooksey-HC Ethan Tummins-Mcewen Brandt Crawford-JB
  5. 1.CA 2.East Robertson 3.HC 4.Heritage
  6. That is right,we had a guy that signed with Tennessee and two others that played at the next level but the 92 team was the one that everyone was convinced would make it to the championship game. They were loaded but played jittery until it was too late and you all had a kid named Taylor that killed us.We had four on that team that were capable of playing college ball, three went to the same school but didn't stay.HC has had one team since that was capable of making it back,But Boomer Herndon and DCA beat us by 2.Good luck to you.
  7. I played at HC back in the glory days,80's to be more specific.I played on and started a couple seasons of one the top three teams in HC history.I left the area after high school and live close to Nashville,I still maintain some relationships down there or I would just tell you.Coach Baggett is aware of any and all criticism that I have conveyed.I respect him as my coach but there needs to be some new blood.
  8. Everytime I see Hampton it hurts,I played for Houston County and the only two times we made it to state we lost to Hampton. Both were great games.
  9. I was not there so I can't speak for the game but this will definitely add some spice to an already intense rivalry.I played in some CRAZY basketball and football games for HC,one of the football games got so bad state troopers were called in and TSSAA would not let us play for two years.I am very happy to see Monroe and Hammond step up and contribute as sophomores, did Skelton and Featherstone not play much or were they just ineffective.I will be making the hour and half drive from Nashville to see the game and hope HC pulls it out.
  10. I completely agree with everything you said, anybody that is familiar with Coach Baggett knows that they are still running the same offense and plays that were run in the early 80's.He never plays more than 7 players in any game unless he has serious foul trouble, the team that went to state in the early 80's was loaded but he played the starting five and brought Mike Carter off the bench, the team that went to state in 92 was even more loaded and he played six almost exclusively even though they won almost every game by twenty or more. The 92 team had kids that could play that never saw the floor like Shane Smith,Justin Burns, and the Hernandez kid that should have been in the rotation and still won by the same margins. It is much more effective to work young kids in with the starters and let them play throghout the game than to take everyone out and have the entire B team play the last two minutes.Every year it is the same things happen and there are whispers of retirement and nothing,if it was not for Coach Beal the program would be in a sad state.Anyone that is familiar knows the amount of talent that has come through HC in the past, TWO trips to the state to be unacceptable for a coach that has been there since 1976. As for this years team Dillard is a great player but whenever you have a player like Cooksey that can break down a defense-you let him and That creates open shots for everyone.Tyler Monroe and Hammond are going to be starting next year and have barely seen the floor,THAT IS CRAZY if you expect to build continuity year in year out,and Roper should have been playing some too.I could go on and on.
  11. I know they are different types of players but what is your opinion of Ethan Dillard from Houston County who scored 49 on you early in the year.
  12. Does HC still have to play Mcewen again and if so when?
  13. When is this game going to be made up,it has great importance to both teams seeding wise.Houston Co could really make a move if they win this one and NC game,2-5 seeds would be crazy if HC wins both.
  14. I saw the game and WHH played terrible but East played better than I have seen them play this year, having Wilks back seems to help.I think against East you have to play some type of zone and just match up with Stratton because no one in this district can guard Woodard man to man and he is not going to hurt you as an outside shooter.I think Ray for Heritage really has a bright future and Moore is a solid player. The score of last nights game is misleading,it was much worse than a 12 point game.
  15. I like Heritage on the road by 5,can't make up my mind if I am going to this game or the Sycamore/Fairview game.
  16. I know it sounds crazy but they don't have anything coming after Woodard leaves and that is why they have struggled so much this year and also why the support in the community pales in comparison to the past, and I couldn't tell you the last time someone posted or commented on here about them.I live in White House but grew up and played at Houston Co so I am extremely familiar with their tradition.
  17. Sounds like Mcewen and CA will be the class of the league for the next few years,Heritage has a few young kids that are good players as does HC and NC.EAST ROB and JO BYRNS will be the door mats of the district for years to come.
  18. Mcewen is the only team in the district I have not seen,do they have any size and how do they look for the next couple of years.
  19. I continue to be surprised and impressed by Heritage,is the big lefty a freshman?HC looked good last night and East Rob continues to disappoint.Nashville Christian is improving.Mcewen is the only team to play CA close, what kind of size and how athletic are they?
  20. Just wanted to set the record straight,I am in my thirties and do not have a child that plays for any of these schools.I went to HC a long time ago and live in Nashville now.Scrapman,I looked for you at the game against HC,I was going to say hello,a friend of mine is the athletic director at Christian Community and pointed you out last year.WP,I wasn't calling you out or anything, sorry if it looked that way.I am sure you can answer a question for me.How is Tom Mulliniks related to the kids that play on your team,I used to know him pretty well back in the day.I am in Mcewen from time to time because my mother has a farm on Schrock Rd. out past the high school
  21. i agree with you,Dillard is a great player but he can not create his own shot against someone who is athletic, like albright from Heritage.Cooksey is more athletic than anybody in the district except for Woodard and can penetrate at will but HC will not ever alter their approach.
  22. I was at the game last night and Heritage played a great game.Albright shadowed Dillard all game and did a great job slowing him down, the rest of the Heritage team is better than I thought. The big key to the game was coaching,I know when I say this alot of HC fans are going to get mad but maybe it is time for Coach Baggett to retire.I know it is not all about winning and losing but if you see the effort given by the majority of the team and the lack of preparation[23-8after one quarter]of the team, maybe it is time for change. They obviously have more raw ability than any team in the district except for CA but always underachieve. They were down by 15 with about 6 minutes left and were walking it up the floor and trying to run plays, the best play for them all night was to let Cooksey penetrate and either get a layup, foul or assist,Heritage had nobody that could guard him yet thet continuously did the same stuff including having there 6'6 post player handle the ball at the high post/top of the key.How did ER only beat NC by a point at home? I assume the player in previous posts from CA that was discussed was Dyer,he is a very intense player and sometimes gets a little too emotional but I do not think it is purposeful or mean-spirited.I would much rather have a kid give that much effort than to have a player with a ton of talent but is lazy.I think Mcewen teams style of play is very simialar to his.
  23. I sure do miss scrapman,he was very entertaining.I want to know opinions on why Houston Co and East Rob have underacheived so far this season. My opinion on HC is they have one scoring option and a soft post game.I have no idea why the Skelton kid continues to play as much as he does and they have a sophomore on the bench in the Monroe kid that is super agressive and will at least make things happen, they also have another sophomore 6'5 Jonathan Roper that has touch and deserves some playing time. They should play skelton,Kizer,Monroe,Roper, and Barnes an equal amount of time, they have improving guards in Cooksey and C.Featherstone that should be solid by tourney time along with Dillard and T.Featherstone carrying the load.ER should be much better than they are,can not understand why they don't push the tempo as much as possible with Woodard and Cook, that would also free up shots for Stratton in transition.Mcewen is playing incredible considering the talent they have,Coach Ross is very underrated as a coach.WHH will come back to Earth, they are a product of the schedule, although with Albright and a great coach they always have a shot.CA is the class of the league and if Malcolm Smith grows a few inches and continues to improve will be an SEC talent. It is nice to see Nashville Christian down,Charlie anderson is a great man and coach but they have to have the most annoying fans.Since I have touched on everyone else,JB has been irrelevant in BB for a long time now.
