I'm not sure how to respond IAm23 so my last post before practice starts tomorrow will end with a quote from Tommy Lasorda... "The difference between the impossible and the possible lies in a man's determination" Go Stars!

We have no ego issues. We have come together like the players from one of my favorite movies "Remember the Titans". Our hallowed ground is the baseball diamond at Siegel High School...we are brothers and we will not be denied. We are blessed with talent and an excellent coaching staff. We have the will to win. The time is now...the season is ours. Nothing will stand in our way.

We played with Maddux, Richmond, Sims, and Talmadge last Summer and they can definitely play. I haven't seen Pearson since the Fall of 2007 but he's a good player and I heard he had a good Summer. Coach Reavis has to be pleased having this many guys that can play at a high level and it will be interesting to see how everything shakes out.

Nothing wrong with being excited when you haven't been on the field in 7 months.
  5. I'm gonna watch The Natural tonight, Bull Durham tomorrow night, Field of Dreams Saturday night, and The Rookie on Sunday. Monday night I'll be at Siegel watching the players take BP /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  6. I'm now reduced to watching Nancy Grace every night...somebody help me.
  7. We didn't play fall ball last year so it's been a long off season for us. I'm so ready. I've run out of books to read and movies to watch. Somebody throw out the first pitch.
  8. I'm with ya brother. Gonna be a lot of flat spots on the ball this year baby!

If Robinson is good to go on day one, even with a limited pitch count, that's bad news for our opponents and great news for Neil and his family. We wish him only the best for the upcoming varsity season and Summer with the Dbacks.

Oops, my mistake. I was thinking that some of the teams during tournament play had a DH and an EH listed on their lineup card but that may have been during the Summer. Not sure if the rules are the same for Summer tournaments.

It will be interesting to see how everything plays out. There are a lot of guys on this team that can play at a high level. We may see an EH this year to get another hot bat in the lineup. Talking about the batting order, I remember a tournament a couple of years ago when Riverdale had Skinner and Hunter hitting 1 and 2 in the order to jump start the offense and get them an extra at bat or two...you never know. Coach Reavis will sort things out.

Dove will most likely start at 2B. The batting order in this thread was based on Fullerton playing 2B and Robinson playing 3B which may or may not happen, depends on what Coach wants to do. Either option is a good one. Dove can bunt well so if he starts he may hit in the 2 hole.

You don't want to hit one of your power guys in the 2 hole. Coach Reavis will experiment with the lineup during pre-season I'm sure but I'd bat Shaffer in the 3 or 4 hole. You want some guys on base when he hits one out on the road. Schloss has picked up some power and of course, Robinson can go yard, so look for Shaffer, Schloss, and Robinson hitting 3,4,5...not sure exactly which one will be where. Generally your 3 hole guy is your best hitter with your 4 hole spot being for more of a pure power guy. There's so much talent on this team it's hard to predict where everyone will land. Moore has power, Prather has power, and Bartlett may poke a few out this year. Holman, Kosinski, Taylor, Duvall, Fullerton, heck, just about everyone can go deep. Bring on the season baby!
