  1. ok i see now why no one has commented on the status of the big men at CCHS.i understand the spread is more of a finesse system that doesnt necassirly mean you gotta beat on your opponent, but where is the intensity. were playing too high and w/o any NASTY!. the best thing about playing up front is having the oppurtunity to be physical every single play and right now i dont see it where it needs to be. Now go out everyday and earn the right to fight in the TRENCHES!I love each one of you and dont want you to take these comments the wrong way, but somebodys still gotta fire that #### up!
  2. dont make me put you out there owls1.we both know i know who you are.but seriously i want to know how they are doing?i heard these scrimmages havent been going too well. glad to hear catfish is ok
  3. Somebody in the know please inform us all on how the hog mollies are looking for this year. I was a little disappointed to hear Stone got moved off the oline, but I understand he has conditioning issues and to have him fresh on d is a major plus.
  4. I'll give you my thoughts on a few things. First of all, you talk a lot of trash about a man you have never even met. I recommend you stop.If you plan on being involved in athletics in any aspect, wildcat, you need to understand that dogging a man before youve never even met him isnt exactly the brightest thing to do. I have met with Coach Shrenk. He is a very positive, moral, and respectable man. And this is something anyone will agree with after just a few moments of talking with him. I'll make sure to arrange a one-on-one with coach when he gets here, and you can tell him exactly how you feel about him then. Sound good? Now,to more important things, the Lift-a-thon went great! Outstanding job done by the men and our lady on Saturday. A huge thank you goes out to the booster club, athletic counsel, and all the other clubs and volunteers who made the event the success it was. Our final turn-in date for donations and pledges is this Thursday the 9th. As of this morning we have raised a little over $2300. Our goal is set at $3400,very attainable. As a team, we are right on course to achieve our goal. With another hard week of fundraising we will be there. This community should be very excited and extremely proud of the effort, accountability, and overall team chemistry exhibited by our squad. GO PRIDE!!!!
  5. I could'nt be more pleased with the effort in the weightroom this past week. These young men are doing a great job 6th period and after school. This is a solid core of 30 kids. Keep bustin it on the Lift-a-thon. We should be around the $500 mark after this weekend. I hope everyone behaved this weekend, got plenty of rest, and ate good. Because you are going to need it. And to some of you old heads(outgoing seniors), stick around during 6th and after school to help with technique. 2 or 3 of you know what your doing. A few of you have expressed an interest in coaching. And there is no better place to start your coaching career than at your alma mater.Perhaps we could make the spring game a little more interesting. P.S. Please send athletes and protein please.
  6. The Lift-A-Thon is Sat April 4th at 3pm in the parking lot of the fieldhouse. There are alot of events planned that day. Softball tournament all day, LAT at 3 and a soccer game that evening at 530. I was also told there might be a dunking booth. So, Saddle up Dodgen. I call dibs. To all the players, keep busting that tail in the weightroom. I'm proud of the hard work and so is your county.
  7. Little help, dont be scared. Got a group that could be ready for a meet in may if anybody is intereseted.
  8. Iam looking to start a power team at Cannon. Any suggestions on getting a team or who we could compete against?
  9. good to see you made it to class. thinking about getting a powerlifting team going. i know you love the weight room, so I'm sure you are interested. its not listed on tssaa, so if anyone has any suggestions please reply.
  10. we focus more on dynamic multi joint exercises. got any med balls you wanna get rid of, i'm looking to incorporate ballistics.
  11. This is a completly voluntary thing. The oppurtunity has been presented to them. If they want it, all they gotta do is come by my classroom and pick up a copy. Its pretty basic, nothing I'm doing here is rocket science. I'm trying to get them to pay a little more attention to what they are putting in their bodies. But I believe once a few begin to show results then perhaps others will follow. Any suggestions?
  12. Certainly, stop by the fieldhouse and I'll show you a few types of plyo exercises. I would enjoy meeting you. You seem very interested in Cannon Co athletics. This community need more of that. So I encourage you to stop by the fieldhouse anytime. Send me a message so as to keep your anonymity in place. http://www.sport-fitness-advisor.com/plyometric.html or search it on wikipedia for all the medical jargon. In short, plyos are used to supplement weightlifting in the accumulation of quick twitch(power generating) muscle fibers.
  13. Maximal strength is only one macrocycle in our conjugate periodization method. Peaking our absolute power output in August is our primary goal. We go through phases of alternating weight, set/rep combos, and varying intensities. all of our core excercises are paired with their appropriate auxiallry lift or plyometric excercise. this is not a new approach to sport-specific training. we are progressing smoothly along. i am very proud of our team. we had 75% pass our functional strength test. which means they may begin to lift progressively heavier weights. we had four kids score a perfect 21. for the kids who did not pass they will continue to correct balance and technique defiencies. some kids are just not ready for heavy weights yet. through firsthand knowledge i understand what can happen if your form and technique are off, even in the slightest bit. on our non-lift days we are working on improving our footwork and form running. no long distance and not much speed for now. we are becoming incredibly more flexible, and will be starting our dietary program soon.
  14. Let me tell everybody like it is, my sole purpose for posting on this site is to keep the community and the fans up to date on what is going on with the football team. You all asked to be notified of booster club meetings, fundraisers, banquets, practices, scrimmages, and games. That's what I'm here to do. I share the same passion for success that alot of you do. This will be a football town again. This has been your town alot longer than has been mine. Tell me how it goes around here. Who do I need to speak to about getting some things done? I need names and numbers. We need to figure out a way to get the middle school kids to the high school for some /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" conditioning. And if you want to know who I am, all you gotta do is ask. I though it was pretty apparent.
