  1. Here's how I see it: 1.Franklin-has the best player in the District-Little

2.Indy-has the best pitcher in the District-Miller

3.Ravenwood-has the smartest player in the District-N Kuko

4.Brentwood-has the best catcher in the District-Shelton

5.Centenial-has the best hitter in the District-Kemp

6.Hillsboro-has the best uniforms in the District

  2. Yipee, I'm out of school again today! and thanks for your concern about my sleeping habits but I'm more concerned about the team. People at school keep asking the same question; why did they change things up? The team was 9-0 and came out of nowhere to #5 in the midstate before the change in philosophy. Can anybody answer this question? Shout out for a 4 day weekend!

Losing those games has nothing to do with who starts the game. If you knew anything about basketball, it DOESN'T matter who starts the game. Big whoop, you get your name announced by the PA guy. It is who's on the floor at the end of the game. The 8 man rotation is basically playing the same number of minutes. FHS is losing games because they're playing with very little intensity and not running their offense, not who's starting.

If you knew anything about basketball then you would not make these statements. Of course it matters who starts the game, you want to get off to a good start. Name a coach at any level who doesn't start they're best players. Furthermore, you play your best line-up the majority of the game, that's not happening either. And minutes have changed alot for several players, didn't have a 8 man rotation until about the 7th or 8th game. The football players were still in football , they didn't start getting considerable minutes until the 7th or 8th game. You can make all the excuses you want to for the coaching staff but me and you both know whats going on and its wrong.

  4. i noticed that the rebels are on a 2 game losing streak but both of the games were very close and Franklin probably should have won them. However, i will be interested to see how they do over the christmas break in Florida and especially when they come back to open up the new year with what i think is the strongest team in the district- Hillsboro. I can't wait to see this game, especially with that big McMillan kid. Who will match up with him. i figured franklin will probably play their slow, fundamental game and run a 1-3-1 defense like they always do against metro teams to try and slow them down. Good luck to the Rebels!

I can't figure it out myself "metroballin" Franklin went 9-0 using their best line-up the majority of the game. They had road wins at Clarksville, at Seigal, and at Lavergne and home wins against Overton and District rival Centenial. The team was playing really good. Then, the line-up changed and a different group of players started playing the majority of the game and they have went 2-3 since. Going to be interesting to see which group he goes with against Hillsboro

  5. Still keeping an eye on Franklin at 9-0, beating Overton, Siegal, and Lavergne...

    Saw some interesting upcoming games..

Friday @ the Mt Juliet Bear Classic at 2 we have Franklin vs Father Ryan..

Saturday..........BIG MATCHUP State contender Cleveland vs Franklin (both unbeaten) at 1:00....

Who are these kids from Franklin.....like I said earlier, they graduated like theirtop 8 players last year....

    Props to their coach

Yep, there are two big games this weekend. You boys need to focus on one game at a time and go out there and do what you enjoy doing. Don't get a big head.

Who are these kids, you ask. They are boys who have waited and waited for their time out on the court. Even though Coach Johnson is a good coach, I don't think he or his coaching has much to do with the record this year.

His coaching hasn't hurt them yet, but from what I've heard it's getting ready to. Look for the Rebels to struggle over the holidays.

I told you , Lets see if coach goes back to his winning formula

  7. Franklin goes to 5-0 after an impressive win over talented Overton at home. Have 2 good wins on the road at Clarksville and at Lavergne. Mclemore has been dominate. He's impossible to guard, he either scores, gets fouled or both. But the key to this years team is Mathews, the big man underneath. he's a great rebounder and gives them a solid offensive threat when he has the ball. He is a transfer from Ky who runs the floor like a guard and is explosive on both ends of the court. Little, Keibler, Wozinski have their roles-all can hit the three, play good defense, and run the floor. The scary thing is that Nelson and Pace have just started playing after football and will only make the Rebels stronger when they get into basketball form. These players are hungary, they have had to sit for 2 to 3 years until last years senior class graduated. I knew they were going to be pretty good but at this point they are even better than i expected. They're biggest test of the year will come this Fri. when they play Seigal at Seigal.

  8.

Franklin: Jake Little-Best all around player in the District, has it all, pure stud

No offense to this young man, you are correct that he is very good. But...if he is the best all around in the district, how did he lose out to District MVP Mookie Betts (Overton) who was also a sophomore?

That's easy, Overton won the District. If Centenial had won the district Kemp would have got it, if Independence had won it Lee would have got it, if Franklin had won it then Little would have got it. A player that is not on a District winner has no shot unless his numbers are extrodinary. Second, I made this statement knowing Overton is not in the District this year, I wasn't talking about last year. Don't try to make a point by asking a dumb question. Little and Betts are the best of friends, they both play at a very high level, you can't go wrong with either one

  9. Independence: Bryan Miller-best pitcher in the District, more movement on breaking stuff that I've ever seen, straight up nasty

Ravenwood: Andrew Cash-great hitter, tough out

Franklin: Jake Little-Best all around player in the District, has it all, pure stud

Page: Daniel Johnson(sleeper)-crafty little left handed P/1b with a pretty good stick

  10. Franklin did lose alot last year. Not too sure about Little--heard he has a shoulder injury. He didn't play much with Franklin this summer because of baseball.

Little is fine, he had cyst behind his rotators cuff which was causing pain when he threw a baseball. It doesn't affect him at all when shooting. Little and McLemore will lead a new group of rebels on the hardwood this year. Will probably struggle early until Pace and Nelson get out of football and get into basketball rythem. Won't have as much depth as in the past but the first seven can play. If coach Johnson can pull this group together they're going to be tough to beat. But like Big Poppa said it's going to be a very competitive district. Anyone of the six could get hot and make a run. Here is how I see it stacking up:

    1.Franklin

    2.Independence

    3.Hillsboro

    4.Brentwood

    5.Centenial

    6.Ravenwood

YOU REALLY BELIEVE THAT FRANKLIN AND INDEPENDENCE WILL BE BETTER THAN HILLSBORO? HILLSBORO IS SUPER LONG THIS YEAR. NOBODY IN THAT DISTRICT WILL BE ABLE TO DEFEND ART MCMILLAN. WHEN YOU ADD IN ISIAH HARRISON 6'7" AND BIG KENNY 6'5" (MCMILLAN 6'5") THEY ARE LONG AND QUICK. WITH BRE, VINCENT, JAMAL AND PIPES AT THE GUARDS THEY ARE REALLY DEEP AS WELL. I DON'T SEE THEM AT THIRD IN THE DISTRICT. I DO BELIEVE THEY CAN BE OUT COACHED (WHICH IS THEIR ONLY PROBLEM), BUT THEY WILL DOMINATE THIS DISTRICT IN THE END BEHIND BIG ART. I CAN'T SEE THEM LOSING MORE THAN A GAME OR TWO IN THIS DISTRICT.

Franklin beat David Lipscomb at Lipscomb, Indy beat Hunters Lane at Hunters Lane in scrimmages this weak. Long, tall, quick Hillsboro got beat by Overton by 20. I don't think they will dominate the district this year at all, I think I will stick with my predictions.

  11. Franklin did lose alot last year. Not too sure about Little--heard he has a shoulder injury. He didn't play much with Franklin this summer because of baseball.

  12. I'm sorry but Overton owns Franklin. I wish somebody kept up with the streaks we've had on ya'll in the past 5 years. I know Overton beat Franklin 7 times in Franklins 2005 state run. (literally) And speaking of class I remember one game in 2004 after Franklin won at Overton and before Franklin pulled off they laid on the the horn on the bus for about 5 minutes on the bus while the Overton team was working on their field. Oh yeah and Overton run ruled them about three days after that too and then eliminated them in the district tournament. If it wasn't for the Joseph brothers Franklin would be just another Spring Hill

If it wasn't for Richie Goodnow ya'll would've been another Hillwood. I believe along with the Joseph brothers Franklin had players like Derrick Turnbow(pros), Steve Liddell(vandy), Casey Dykes(western ky), Drew Mason(ut martin), Martin Drude(david lipscomp), just to name a few off the top of my head. Overton dominated Franklin 1 year and Franklin still went to the state that year making further than Overton did. Franklin has made it to the sub state the last 4 years and to the state 3 out of the last 4. Having a teams number for 1 year does not equate owning that team. When I talk about no class I'm not talking about childish behavior like blowing a horn, I'm talking about a drunk Overton fan about 40 years old, drunk as a skunk, standing behind Franklin's students cursing and antagonizing them. And this was just 2 weeks ago, I didn't have to go back almost 6 years.

  13. Overton/Franklin at 5pm

    Overton/Independence at 7:30

    So...let's hear the theory. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

As you astutely point out, it is because of rain on Friday. It is now a 60% chance.

I'd love to hear the theory. I saw the coaches talking about it, Franklin didn't have a problem with it.

'GoingtoRightField' you can slant your post to paint a distorted picture of what really happens in games you comment on, you can question where a fan is sitting and what angle he had to see the pitch, you can make excuses when you lose, but please don't try and speak for the Franklin coaching staff. I know your good, but your not that good. I am actually close to the Franklin program and I actually talked to the Franklin coaching staff and they were not ok with the decision. How come we were the only district in all three classifications in the state to do it this way. Nobody else moved their games back, they all played Friday night, so the "rain theory" you astutely used just don't wash. I think everyone knows the truth but I can't wait to hear your response.

  14. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> hey burroboy that franklin vs. independence game you were talking about tonight, is that lacrosse, softball or soccer? GO BOBCATS !!!!!

My point exactly OHSBobcat1, I said Friday night not Thursday night. For some funny reason they decided to move the championship game back to a thurs. doubleheader. Looked ok to me friday night to play ball. Everybody else did. I checked every district in all three classifications and they all played their championship on Fri. one game, one night like it is supposed to be, I wonder why that is?It wasn't fair to Overton either, it cost them a #1 seed. But the ultimate goal was achieved, congratulations! It's easy to understand why everybody in the district dislikes Franklin, they've been like the Patriots of the NFL. They win so much everybody hates them. They have went to the state 3 out of the last 4 years and got put out in the sub-state the other. They have represented this district 8 out of the last 10 years. When you talk about District 11AAA, Franklin is the team people think of, not Overton, or Indy, or Brentwood. It's always been that way and it always will. I will miss Overton's baseball team when they leave the district, they have a good coach, but I won't miss the lack of class often displayed by the Overton faithful from the ticket seller, to the concession stand workers, to the fans, and the students.

  15. FRANKLIN 5 VS CENTENIAL 1 (MICHAEL PATTON PITCHES COMPLETE GAME, CROW GOES 2-3)

FRANKLIN 3 VS OVERTON 1 (TYLER HARRIS PITCHES COMPLETE GAME, LITTLE GOES 2-3)

FRANKLIN STARTED 2 FRESHMAN, A SOPHMORE, AND A JUNIOR IN THE INFIELD FOR BOTH GAMES--0 ERRORS

GOT WORD LATE THAT THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME IS GOING TO BE PLAYED RIGHT AFTER THE FRANKLIN/OVERTON GAME, DOES ANYBODY KNOW IF THIS IS TRUE? IF SO, WHY? I HAVE MY THEORY

  16. Who cares about individual stats? I know no one at Indy does. We care about our team goals, which is to win championships. Have you guys won anything this year? No, we beat the best team in the nation to win a tourney. BRowe is better than any pithcher on your staff, and Lee is better than any position player you have. Franklin won't be in first place that long as they will lose to Overton and get swept by Ravenwood and we come in and take 2nd place. It will be great. Talk to me next week when the Eagles are soaring and the Rebels are laying bloodied on the battlefield.

All you care about is championships? Well, you must not care very much because ya'll have never won one. You have got to have talent to win championships thats why ya'll have never won one. This year is no exception, Lee would be maybe the 5th or 6th best player on Franklins team, only place he could start would be in the outfield. Wasn't Indy predicted to win the district? Underachieved again! Has never even been in 1st place once during the whole year but still comes on here and talks trash like they've done something. Accept the truth and bring more talent into your program and you might just win a championship one year. Just want be this year.

  17. Coaches have to send stats like this into media outlets like this and indy coach moore has never paid that much attention to sending them in....but dang it must stink to have to resort to saying "our player hit more doubles than yours did" or any of the stats you listed.. they are meaningless stats...hence why our coach doesnt take the time to send them in. The stat that matters is in the win collumn where we split the series. hopefully we will play each other in the district tourney with both teams having their ace on the mound, then we will see who the real team is.

The stats still don't lie no matter what kind of lame excuses you throw out there. They are meaningless to you because ya'll don't have anybody in them. Your coach probably don't want to send them in because he is embarrased. Who was predicted to win the district? Who was predicted to finish near the bottom? Which team has underachieved and which team has overachieved? Franklin's uniforms even look better than Indy's! Franklin is better than Indy at every position, they hit for better ave. and have more power. I hope we meet in the tourney too but we don't have to have our ace, we can win with our #5. Why? Because stats don't lie, Franklin is just better.

  18. Holy moly, what a game. Overton beats Franklin 6-5 in the last inning.

Franklin jumped out to a 5-0 lead after 2 innings, I believe. Overton chipped back little by little. In the 4th, they cut it to 5-4 and would have tied it but for a mental lapse by a base runner.

5-5 going to the bottom of the 7th and Franklin walks in the winning run.

The game was certainly not without controversy on both sides. Strikes/outs were called well but the game control management by the umpires was spotty, at best, with an ejection on both sides.

    Thrilling game, that's for sure.

Overton is 10-2 with Franklin and Indy both at 9-3.

Overton has 2 with Hillsboro, Indy has 2 with Brentwood, and Franklin has 2 with Ravenwood with all of those games on Monday and Tuesday.

I've asked but received no answer -- what is the tiebreaker in district play?

Franklin led 5-0 in the bottom of the 4th with nobody on and 2 outs and then Overton scored 4 runs on no hits. Franklin would have led by more when they had 1st and 3rd and nobody out in the 3rd and got nothing out of it. Also had runner on third and 1 out in the 4th and got nothing out of it. But they can blame nobody but themselvesfor not executing and taking advantage of their opportunities. Franklin out hit Overton 10-3 and Overton's third hit came in the bottom of the sixth with Franklin up by one run and the batter hit a fly ball to center field and the centerfielder's feet slipped out from under him as he stopped to make the catch. Their first hit was also hit to center field, can of corn, but centerfielder lost it in the sun. Overton player intentionally steps on Franklin players leg in the bottom of the sixth after grounding out and got ejected. Franklin player responded with a few choice words and and got ejected too. The last 3 innings were played with half the infield lights cut off. It was an exciting game and the only thing that matters is the final score. Congradulations and I hope you represent district 11AAA well in the playoffs.

  19. Franklin not hitting the baseball is nothing new. That's been the story all season long. Now Franklin has to sweep Overton and Ravenwood to win the regular season championship. It's possible, but not likely. Independence on the other hand has clawed there way back and are only one game behind the Rebels. If they can keep it rolling they just might make some noise come playoff time.

County stats from Wmson AM 4-21-09 Stats don't lie! Does Indy have any players that are any good?

Franklin is not only a better hitting team than Indy they're better all the way around including the coaching.

District standings-Franklin in 1st place, Indy looking up.. I think you get the picture. No shot to win District and very little chance they will do anything in the tourny.

  20. Franklin goes to 8-1 in the district with a convincing 4-1 victory over Brentwood. Ray went the whole way giving up 7 or 8 hits (Little went 2 for 3 tonight and 3 for 4 for the series against Ray). Franklin jumped on him early getting 2 in the 1st inn. Only got a couple more the rest of the way but had runners in scoring position almost every inning. I say convincing victory because of Michael Patton's awsome pitching performance on the mound. He pitched one of his best games of his career going 7 innings and giving up 4 or 5 hits and walking maybe 2. Brentwood had a couple of brief rallies in the 4th and 6th but they ended quickly due to Patton's pitching and Franklin's solid defens, everybody played good for Franklin. They seem to be getting better every week and that is due to the coaching. It's about time Coach Brown starts getting some recognition for the job he is doing.

Does anybody have any other scores?
