  1. Yall got to understand and give way to the Private schoolers.  Certainly they thought their maid or nanny would be by to cleanup their mess.  See their is always an understandable reason for these things.

Could be true...our nanny, maid, butler and driver were off on Friday due to the hard work they put in onThanksgiving day.

  2. Indian, I hear you. At one time Catholic was in DII. The travel was realy tough. Getting back to Knoxville from Chattanooga or Nashville at 1 a.m. on a Tuesday night after a baseball or basketball game is a hard on the student athlete. It was an option that wasn't even considered this go 'round. If I'm not mistaken, the Baylor's, Brentwood Academy and Webb's of the world CAN recruit and give scholorship money because they are in the Private school division. I know that Webb recruits and pays tuition money. Which is perfectly legal in their division. I'm not sure that Catholic has the resources to compete in that market if they were to go back to private school division. Could be wrong. I'm without a doubt whining about what went down today. Since 2010 we've been hoping to get back to a more competitve division, where at the beginning of each season, we actually thought we could advance from our district. You know, it's a tough pill to swallow, but we'll have to deal with it for at least

another 4 years. Thanks for your input. Whining in Knoxville.

  3. No, the schools that are forced to use a 1.8X multiplier are significanty smaller than their non multiplier district counterpart. We have a case where a school with an enrollment of 630 students is forced to compete in a distrct with school enrollments up to 2000 students due to this crazy rule. The numbers just don't add up. Staistics have proven, for obvoius reasons, that the injury rates are much higher for the smaller schools. The reason we have different classifications in High School is to equal things out. Schools of the same size typically have about the same amount of depth. Size does matter. I'm still trying to figure out why a team with 650 students (approx. 325 boys) sould have to schedule a school with an enrollment of 2000 students (approx. 1000 boys). Sure I'm whining, but I've seen some pretty serious injuries over the last 3 years. Someone please try to sell me on the TSSAA logic. I thought they were smart enough to realize that this joke of a multiplier (HIGHEST IN THE NATION) was not working...Guess I was wrong.

  4. Well the "Good Ole Boy" network is still at it. The 1.8 multiplier is the most ridiculious rule in TN High School sports. No other state that has a multipier is even close to ours. Most states are now doing away with it. I'd like to know of one good thing that comes out of that number?? All it does is penalize smaller schools and without a doubt, cause more injuries. It's painfully obvious that the TSSAA is all about making money and not the well being of our student athletes. It's total BS. The TSSAA is a complete JOKE!!!

  5. Catholic wasnt in a lame private school division last year.. they were in AA. And yah, they sucked last year, They just didnt play anybody.

How can you possibly say Catholic sucked last year? They only played for the State Championship.

I guess everyone else sucked too.

  6. How has Catholics senior Anders throwing since his returm to baseball after Tommy John surgery? I think he's the guy we need to watch. Did not play last year because of that injury. As a soph. he batted cleanup and was ace pitcher. Should be interesting to watch. In general, how do they look? Is Catholic healthy this year. What about other pitchers? Little info please. Thanks.

  7. Point guard for Farragut shines a negative light on their whole program. I 'd be embarrassed if I were a Farragut supporter. I have never seen such poor sportsmanship by any high school player. Some of the things he was saying to our players was unbelievable. I cannot believe that Farragut coaches allow such behavior. He struts around like he can play. He complains about every call like a big baby. Funny thing is, he's... not good.. He got abused many times tonite. How can that guy be a starter. He doesn't contribute anything to the team. I guess all he's got is his mouth. The guard that they put in once he was ejected did a much better job. After he was ejected he sat at the end of the bench and pouted. He was clearly out matched last night and tonite. Farragut typically is a classy bunch. But when you put that clown in you bunch it makes the whole school look bad.

  8. Typical Catholic vs Webb game. Guys who have grown up together. Played against each other for years. Very intense game. Alot of hustle. Very emotional. Vocal crowd. Great student sections. Packed house. Double overtime. Great High School game.

Irish win close one. Can't wait for the next one. WILL be another close one. Guaranteed.
