  1. This season is over for Sycamore, losing to Bolivar 9-1.

    To the seniors from Sycamore:

Kyle Quillen- The kid played his heart out all year. It definately showed in the stat column. Off the field the kid is swell. He has a good future ahead of him.

Jace Hunter- You can't say enough about this kid's competitiveness. He faught hard for this club and you couldn't have asked more.

Cory Carrigan- This kid pushed this team through thick and thin. He was the voice for this club when everyone else was quiet. He yelled an screamed at everyone to keep their heads up all year.

Matt Graham- This kid always had a high motor and never slowed down for anything. The kid climbed a mountain this year. He deserves everything he has worked for.

Dalton Townley- he came up and did his job every time we was called on. He was more laid back and was a good team first guy all year.

Tyler Cherry- This kid has been the "unsung hero" all year. He was a clutch guy and hit the big ones when needed.

His range was great in the field. He made great catches all season.

Jake Sirmeyer- This kid was a great all around guy. He had fun with the game am still worked hard all season. He pitched his best in the clutch and came up huge with his bat, especially late in the season.

Overall- This is the best senior group I've ever gotten the privledge to play with. On the field they worked hard and lead by example, off the field they were just ordinary guys with friendly smiles. I truly hope I can see them all play college ball somewhere.

    Thanks for everything guys.

  2. I don't know! Maybe not too good if he only went two.

He's a very consistant pitcher, but I believe he looks his best after someone like Quillen, Hunter, or Carrigan pitch.

He has a mean curveball and the submarine pitch throws off batters. Great set up guy.

  3. Hats off to Creekwood for a great season. I hope y'all pull out a W at Jackson Southside.

Sycamore finally gets over the hump and gets a district tournament championship. The hard work they put in all season payed off, but now they have a bigger task ahead and that would be to win Regions.

First round may be tough. Jace Hunter will have to sit out his last game for a ridiculous call that got him ejected against Wavo. Sycamore can manage without him though. A lot of senior leadership should get them by.

    Go War Eagles!

  4. I know the MVP votes have already been casts, but I've got to throw this out there.

Kyle threw a no no through 7 innings of work and knocked in the game winning run in a huge game. If that doesn't scream MVP then I don't know what does. I would be dissapointed if wasn't at least Co-MVP.

  5. Sorry. Didn't think I needed the sarcasm smiley.

    /huh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="huh.gif" /> This is my favorite one.

No go today? I had Little League practice at 6 and it wasn't that bad on this side of the river.

    I caught it. That's why I said that's funny.

I'm on the same page with you ks.

  6. Good job Tigers!!

    That was a good game.

Purcell came in late and kept hitters offbalance to get the save.

He may not be full strength but that change up sure looked good from were I was sitting.

If they play will Wavo pitch Purcell.

  7. desperate times call for desperate measures i guess... is anything official???

Not to my knowledge, but the chances of something around this idea seems good.

It makes sense to me. Might as well try go to single elimination and get all the games in as soon as possible.

I think we would all hate to see two teams move on without even playing a game.

  8. MC has their own bracket. CW maybe?

I say proms can be coordinated around. It just takes some..............coordination. The right hand knowing what the left one is doing. My guess is that any kind of common sense compromise such as baseball games in the morning or early afternoon, prom that night would be taken into consideration. We're not building lunar landing modules here.

I understand that and he said that the tourny would be single elimination and games would start during school hours starting sometime around 10 a.m.

  9. any chance of the sites bein changed??? it had to happen a couple of years ago just wonderin with the new format.

I heard a coach say that Sycamore's bracket could be moved to MC on Tuesday because they have a tarp.

  10. there you go running your mouth about Foriest again! are you a player on the team...or a coach of the team? didn't think so! you dont know anything other than rumors. Foriest is a leader for the harpeth baseball team and kept his cool through the whole creek wood tussle he didnt even get involved. You guys are just mad cause he is new in the district and comes in and dominates every team team he has pitched against! give him a break he is the only guy in the district with teams such as vandy, kentucky, clemson, lipscomb, and ,many other D1 teams contacting him not to metion proffesional scouts! Geeze get off his back and find out the real information before you go running your moth

Dominate? He didn't seem to dominate against Sycamore and Creekwood. You can't throw dirtballs and call it dominating.

  11. Freshman from Sycamore named Zach Gentry looks like he may be a big name soon.

I don't know his exact stats, but he's strong armed, quick feet, and very mature for his age.

Bats in the 2 hole on a team full of seniors.

  12. Take Quillen off of sycamores team and not only do you lose 5 wins with him on the bump, but a battin average of 435 and 40 RBI'S also. thats pretty impressive

I agree with you in the most part, but those 5 wins could have been taken care of by any other of the varsity pitchers at Sycamore. The big ones that may have been losses would have been the gem he pitched against Wavo and the big W he got over Creekwood. Now the batting avg. isn't the best on team. I believe Carrigan is batting somewhere in the 600s in district play. The RBIs are very impressive, especially in 30 games.

You can also make an argument for two other Sycamore kids. Jace Hunter is undefeated on the bump in district play and pitched wonderfully against Harpeth. Cory Carrigan stepped up huge for this club this year, playing multiple positions through out the season including 1st, C, Pitching, and OF.

Those three guys and two others, Jake Sirmeyer and Tyler Cherry, for Sycamore are worthy of all district for sure!

  13. I can see the Central game. 11-1 against Sycamore wasn't dropped 3rd strikes so much as nasty curve balls in the dirt at the wrong time. You don't make a living with 6-8 K2-3's against a good team. Would have lost either way without any errors. Creek Wood beat him 3-0 in a great game. I'm just saying you don't win the Cy Young if you win half your division games, no matter how they were lost or how close they were. The freshmen #2 has more district wins on the bump. W's beats K's every time.

I'm not an advocate of district MVP's. They are individual awards for a team sport. Who cares. Just throwing out some numbers to think on. Believe me, coacht votes aren't taken into consideration. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Hey ks I heard that this is y'alls assistant's last year. I know your tired of hearing rumors, but I'm just making sure this is correct information. If it is his last year why is it? Y'all are going to have a heck of a team the next couple of years, why now?

  14. Central will be the 2 seed because they are 3-1 against Harpeth and Creek Wood.

Creek Wood is the 3 seed because they are 2-2 against Harpeth and Central.

Harpeth is the 4 seed because they are 1-3 against Creek Wood and Central.

    That's the first tie breaker.

I don't know about district MVP. I'd like to see how they did in the big games. I agree it probably ought to be a pitcher this year. Quillen got beat by Creek Wood, Foriest lost his last 3 after a good start. Presley only lost the one game to Montgomery Central in the district and beat Sycamore and Creek Wood down the stretch.

The reason I said Quillen wasn't just because of his pitching but his defense and bat. I may be mistaken but I'm pretty sure he's committed 3 errors and has been struck out 4 times. He's been a solid key in Sycamore's success.

  15. very true, i dont know what foriest's record is but im guessin his name will be in the mix. i know he has alot of strikeouts.

My top two would have to be Quillen and Mills.

Foriest would be in the mix too.

  16. my last guess is umpire....

if everyone is right, then sycamore plays #8 seed, and #4 and #5 play each other in a double elimination tournament. these will be played @ sycamore.

assuming CW has the #2 seed, they will play #7, and #3 which im guessing is harpeth will play #6. all these games @ CW.

the two winners of the double elimination tournaments will play one game @ the higher seed to determine the tournament champion.

    correct me if im wrong

Speaking of umpires, who were the men in blue at both games?

What were their attempts to stop the chatter?

  17. My point was - Why would you post something you just heard without knowing if it were true.Your right he is a heck of a player but more important he is a heck of a kid and does not deserve all this talk.

I was putting the perspective of what everyone around the district is hearing, not trying to send personal attacks on kids and their teams. I believe we took our comments out of context.

  18. OK you just said you didn't know who started the hole thing but still had to call out someone by name . What if it was your son or your little girl and someone said things that were not true? How would you feel? He has taken smack all year long because he is new to 11AA he throws hard, and he has a few D1 looking at him. By the way he started playing ball when he was 5, last year over 110 games and has never i said never been thrown out of a game.

Learn to read. I said I don't know who is wrong or who is right, not who started it. I also said I heard that. I'm not taking anything from the kid he's a heck of a player. So re-read what you reply to.

  19. No you are way wrong all the smack talk started in centerfield last night before the game.If other players and coaches can't control them self how can any one player be responsible for them. He was there tonight to play ball and nothing more. There are a lot of people at your school who know him very very well and they can tell you he is a good kid. What happened tonight was not good for anyone to witness.

I don't know who is right and who is wrong, but I heard the same thing as boobie, that foriest started the whole mess.

  20. well, well, well what can is say, i know we prepared for 1 or 2 and harpeth throws a kid we had not seen or heard of before. ok cudos to them for putting one over on us. its not over yet see ya in districts.

Wow your not serious are you? Mmarlin told you they were going to throw their 4.

I hope y'all play them in districts that way I can laugh at the ridiculous post you put on here.

By the way they would beat you again throwing their 4 and 5 while y'all throw y'alls 1.
