  1. Allison Clark would be a tremondous hire for Tech. She comes from a great program, was a very successful player at Tech, has a coaching background and is a great recruiter.

Plus she has the ability to sell the proram to the Cookeville community as well!

It's my understanding that the attendance has really dropped off.

If she got the job it would be a huge loss to Coach Rick Insell's staff at Middle Tennessee though!

  2. I will agree with you on this. Much easier to win state in football than in basketball, some of the best coaches in the state may not ever win a gold ball, much in part because of our neighbors to the west.

However, lets stay on topic: Names that could possibly be in play?

What about John Wild....former Franklin County girl's coach and also has head coaching experience in college. I think he just resigned at FC.

I'm sure he could make the transition to the boy's game!

  3. I do not know Thomas, and all that you say mabe true. I was simply stating that what good is it to tell the paper that you turned a job down. It sounded to me that he allowed his ego to get the best of him. You will notice that I did not use the words stupid, immature, or anything that would be considered malicious. I apologize for upsetting you. Perhaps you have a man crush on Thomas.

It sounds like you have a "man crush" on yourself....

Perhaps word travels through small communities like Shelbyville pretty fast and he wanted to stop rumors about him maybe leaving or not.

Once the decision was made he shared his decision with fans and supporters.

Is there something wrong with that?

  4. i dont agree with teh look at me statement, but it is infact true that neither thomas OR green were ever offered the job. they were called back for a second interview but again...NEITHER WAS OFFERED THE JOB.

I believe that Coach Thomas was quoted that he was informed (through Oakland sources) that he was going to be offer the job....and that's when he and his wife discussed the issue and decided to stay in Shelbyville!

I think I also heard that the Oakland principal contacted Shelbyville's principal and told him that he was going to offer Thomas the job...but that's just hear say.

I did not personally hear that conversation!

  5. Why can't that happen? If he's planning on being there for the long haul and his program continues on the level it has over the last six or seven years, why wouldn't his resume be comparable to King's? Your argument is short-sided because of his age and head coaching experience compared to King's. This just in, there is a fairly big age gap and experience gap, one that Thomas can do nothing about. His resume speaks for itself since coming to Shelbyville and he's well on his way to leaving a lasting legacy just like King did. Unlike you, I think that could very well happen.

Coach King posted an increditable record but I also think coach Thomas has a chance to have an overall record comparable to Kings.

I think at one point he and the Eagles won 50 plus district games in a row.

If he is just 38, he could coach another 20 plus years easy if he wants to.

  6. I know it sounds crazy but my computer has been down. we have had two bumps and they just happen to be against Lincoln, remember last year we came in second during the season and won the tournament, that is when it counts!! Terry will have us ready, we will win the District again!!!!! Cream will rise to the top!!!!

Confusious....I believe you must be really CONFUSED!!!

  7. Coffee County better watch out...I think Linclon County is going to steal some of their limelight....

Might be a good thing that Coffee County leaves District 8AAA next year.

Lincoln County sure does play a lot of underclassmen!

  8. I think the best idea would be hold the boys and girls state tournament at the same time without cutting it to four teams each.

Instead of staring on Wednesday, start on Monday and play more games each day.

    Bring back night games.

The only problem I can see is when to play the boy's sectional game whick is currently played on Monday night.

Maybe play boys and girls sectional games during the week after the regionals then play the combined state tournament the same time that the boys is currently being played.

This would increase attendance, allow more fans to see both girls and boys teams in action and cut down overhead expenses for the TSSAA as well!

  9. Thanks "robotman" with you smart remarks "Birdie" got to read this before I did and she went out and kill a couple of crows! I hope it makes you happy to put me in my place! But still it is a very long year and I still believe in the magic ball that said that my CC Ladies would be on top, but a high five to the "football school" but I still do not see you all at the top when the "Fat Lady" sings! /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />

What "kind" of school is Coffee County then......"checkers?"

  10. Shelbyville senior right-handed pitcher Jordan Cooper looked great against last year state tournament team and defending District 8-AAA champion Lincoln County Wednesday night.

Lincoln County has a great team but lost to Cooper and the Eagles 10-0 in five innings.

I think Cooper has signed with Kentucky and there were a lot of scouts there watching him.

    He is the real deal.

    Nine strikeouts, including seven looking!

  11. Like I said if he gets 40 I retire..

Is that just talk....or a promise?

I don't think that he will get 40...but I would say that Siegel didn't think he would get 33 either!!!!

The only points that really matter is the final score!

I don't see how anybody can predict a winner.

    Two quality teams.

  12. I do not mean to get off the topic of Emmanuel Andrews but Kermit Davis several years ago had an opportunity to go after the Dequan Twilley and Barry Stewart (Mr. Basketball) from Shelbyville and he missed out. Not sold on his coaching abilities or his recruiting abilities when he can't even sign talent 25 minutes south.

Surely he's learned his lesson....do you think?

I've heard he has already offered Hammonds!

  13. Andrews was in a class by himself tonight!

Kerry Hammonds is a very good player but Andrews is just as good or even better.

What a show those two young men put on tonight at Blackman High School.

MTSU men's coach Kemit Davis was spotted....he had to be impressed with that much talent right here in his back door!

  14. I guess the ballots were not as secret as you might think.

I know what I know, no matter what you think I don't know.

The proof in in the pudding.

    I say again....he was wrong.

He really looked like the man you say you know last night didn't he....NOT!

Go post your "soft and sad story" somewhere else.

    He's getting what he deserves!

  15. is there any chance of franklin co upsetting oakland, lawrence co upsetting siegal, cookeville upsetting shelbyville, and lebanon upsetting columbia????

any chance in any of them besides the cookeville shelbyville game

If FC's head coach stays at home, they will have even a better chance to win....he's shown he knows nothing about basketball.
