  1. Allison Clark would be a tremondous hire for Tech. She comes from a great program, was a very successful player at Tech, has a coaching background and is a great recruiter. Plus she has the ability to sell the proram to the Cookeville community as well! It's my understanding that the attendance has really dropped off. If she got the job it would be a huge loss to Coach Rick Insell's staff at Middle Tennessee though!
  2. What a great camp with 42 teams from three states!
  3. Because they will have an extra night to make up a rainout if needed?
  4. What about John Wild....former Franklin County girl's coach and also has head coaching experience in college. I think he just resigned at FC. I'm sure he could make the transition to the boy's game!
  5. It sounds like you have a "man crush" on yourself.... Perhaps word travels through small communities like Shelbyville pretty fast and he wanted to stop rumors about him maybe leaving or not. Once the decision was made he shared his decision with fans and supporters. Is there something wrong with that?
  6. Did you not read what I posted...an insider from Oakland contacted Thomas and told him that he was going to be offered the job.....
  7. I believe that Coach Thomas was quoted that he was informed (through Oakland sources) that he was going to be offer the job....and that's when he and his wife discussed the issue and decided to stay in Shelbyville! I think I also heard that the Oakland principal contacted Shelbyville's principal and told him that he was going to offer Thomas the job...but that's just hear say. I did not personally hear that conversation!
  8. Coach King posted an increditable record but I also think coach Thomas has a chance to have an overall record comparable to Kings. I think at one point he and the Eagles won 50 plus district games in a row. If he is just 38, he could coach another 20 plus years easy if he wants to.
  9. K. T. was going to be offered the job but appearently turned it down on Tuesday to stay at Shelbyville.
  10. Confusious....I believe you must be really CONFUSED!!!
  11. Just an observation, but in the picture, it looks like the catcher's left leg is "blocking" home plate, therefore not "allowing" the runner to touch the base.
  12. Coffee County better watch out...I think Linclon County is going to steal some of their limelight.... Might be a good thing that Coffee County leaves District 8AAA next year. Lincoln County sure does play a lot of underclassmen!
  13. I think the best idea would be hold the boys and girls state tournament at the same time without cutting it to four teams each. Instead of staring on Wednesday, start on Monday and play more games each day. Bring back night games. The only problem I can see is when to play the boy's sectional game whick is currently played on Monday night. Maybe play boys and girls sectional games during the week after the regionals then play the combined state tournament the same time that the boys is currently being played. This would increase attendance, allow more fans to see both girls and boys teams in action and cut down overhead expenses for the TSSAA as well!
  14. What "kind" of school is Coffee County then......"checkers?"
  15. Shelbyville senior right-handed pitcher Jordan Cooper looked great against last year state tournament team and defending District 8-AAA champion Lincoln County Wednesday night. Lincoln County has a great team but lost to Cooper and the Eagles 10-0 in five innings. I think Cooper has signed with Kentucky and there were a lot of scouts there watching him. He is the real deal. Nine strikeouts, including seven looking!
