  1. of course he was involved yall made it that way... not saying he didn't punch anyone.. im saying he was defending himself.. and who wouldn't... but to suspend for the rest of the season is a little harse...a fight is a fight ejection and a 2 game suspension...thats what im trying to say here.. Crunch...........if it will make you feel any better, I was thinking a 2 game suspension would be what he got also. I was shocked when I heard the rest of the season. That is the reason I was asking if he had ever been in any other trouble or technical fouls and things like that. I would love to see him play again but I am afraid that will not happen this year. Maybe in college somewhere good i know i said i was going to bed but i have to say thank you for supporting Emmanuel and not thinking of him as a complete lunatic like most people on this thread. Emmanuel is a great player and has amazing talent and i wish people wouldn't look over that because of this one night, even though i know it'll happen over and over.
  2. all in all assumptions are assumptions and people will think they know what happened and people will tell what they saw, but not everything you see is the whole story. No one knows what really happened except Emmanuel and the guy that was hit, there may have been words exchanged and fists that flew that no one even knows about because they were too worried about watching coach thomas and the sro officer that so many people were paying attention to. I'm sure we'll hear more about this at school tomorrow.. it's the only thing talked about.. updates will be posted regularly, i'm sure..goodnight.
  3. it's a fact that she was pushed, but also a fact that it wasn't intentional.. he was doing his job by trying to get the guys to the locker room and then something that wasn't that big of a deal became a big deal, if it's not intentional now why was it such a big deal that it was intentional then. Coach Thomas was then pulled to the side because of that leaving the team way in front of the assistant coaches who had to break up the fight after it had started not much you can do then. I just don't understand why the cheerleader didn't understand that he was trying to get his team to the locker room and to get out of the way.. maybe she didn't realize but at the time she made it seem like he picked her up and tossed her by the way she was acting, but not it's an unintentional move to the side. Funny how things change after our best player is suspended. Actually he was not helping his team get to the locker room. He only shook the head coaches hand and then he yelled at the refs and headed for the locker room while his team shook the hands of the other players. Fact!! at that point in time, the assistant coaches were with the players. and coach thomas did head to the locker room but he wasn't that far ahead because the players follwed him, if not the cheerleader would not have gotten 'pushed' out the way for the rest of the team to follow.. i saw this because i was on the baseline attempting to get to the other side to wait for our basketball players.

  5. yeah he didn't get knocked out, but that shows a little bit about him he knows when to stop. none of y'all know him and he was described in previous posts that he was 'from the hood' and all this kind of stuff.. Emmanuel is a great person and no one from Lawrence County personally knows him but i love the way everyone seems to now. Like someone said before they have their side and we have ours and we both think our sides are right.. now it's up to some evidence instead of he said/he did stuff.
  6. Emmanuel wasn't up for Mr. Basketball? ..leading scorer..all-american...over 2000 points.. not at all huh? it DOES matter to Emmanuel, this is his senior year and he won't be playing with the rest of his team for the remainder of the season.. and that doesn't effect him? ..get serious.
  7. i think only two or maybe three people have realized that both teams are at fault and i think that only two people actually know what happened, emmanuel.. the boy who got hit.. and everyone else is just saying 'what they say and what they thought happened'. Emmanuel did not get knocked out, he stopped because the fight was broke up. Emmanuel walked out of the locker room perfectly fine and he attended school perfectly fine. All the talk about Emmanuel getting knocked out is just absurd..really.. No one got knocked out, the only person that i know of who really got hurt was a boy who was sitting on the bottom bleacher after this all who was getting cleaned up by schs athletic trainer.. this is insane and it's about time that people realize both sides ARE at fault..it takes more than one person to start a fight.. everyone is saying he was just being called jimmy [the ringer reference] but i PROMISE you if that was the only thing being said this wouldn't of ever happened.. you might have been the one calling him that but are you 110 % sure everyone else was?
  8. You 100% sure it wasn't an LCHS pullover? Did you happen to see the football coach during the incident? Just curious? From what i saw of the SRO officer he was wearing what i thought to be a purple shirt, khakis and did have his gun on his side. And this is coming from a student and over-all supporter of emmanuel andrews, kevin thomas, and anyone else involved with this whole ordeal.. i think what the SRO was wearing shouldn't matter.. what should matter is that he and coach thomas had a confrontation which had him tied up at the moment of what happened.. which left the assistants who tried to break up the fight.. not much we can do about that, honestly.
  9. OHHH yes, TSSAA has a close look on both schools for sure. Lawrence County does have a very loud student section, no doubt.. and i'm glad that one person can admit that they weren't acting like perfect angels when all this happened, thank you.
  10. this altercation was nowhere near our student section..and our sro officer kept them in the stands. At our meeting at school about all this our student section was bragged upon for staying in the stands and not running across the gym to get involved. i get that same image about Lawrence County's student section when they say that they had nothing to do with this altercation.. it's actually a joke at school about how Lawrence County is full of angels..get real we both taunt and we both yell.. but the only difference is that we know how to leave the gym when a game is over and end the taunting there. Emmaunel has played basketball all four years and has put up with taunting since middle school, so again..why would he lash out now unless he was provoked..
  11. you're welcome, i'm just trying to clear anything up that anyone would like to know concerning schs that i'm aware of..without arguing because i feel like arguing isn't going to help.. just make it worse than it already is. we have more games left and hopefully people will be sensible and mature. Tullahoma was pretty respectful the other night and I was surprised considering all this happened.
  12. i've gone to school with emmanuel all throughout high school and he's never been in any kind of trouble in or outside of school that any of us are aware of. As for technicals he might have some, but i mean even some of the best players display a bad attitude when they feel a bad call was made, etc. He's a really good kid in and out, works hard at everything he does.. that's why everyone is defending him so much, because we feel he would never just do any of this upon himself. Thanks for the answer. I hate that this has happened and I am not sure the correct punishments are being made but people of SCHS needs to support Andrews now more than ever. I am looking forward to see how he handles this setback but he should be fine if he is as good a person as you claim. Kids need to understand that technical fouls are not good. Not to say it had anything to do with this incident but it may have. I am sure you are right about the taunting but as an athelete I am sure he has heard this type stuff before also. I hate to blame the coach but he should have been there for his players in that situation and got them into the locker room instead of getting involved with the refs after the game and then the incident with the cheerleader. I am not saying he is a bad person but I do feel like he let his team down that night by losing his cool. Sometimes a coach getting a technical is a good thing and actually sparks his team but the one after the game was just plain dumb. I just hope lessons are learned on both sides and both sides can move on. you're welcome. Emmanuel is handling it well, he's always just calm and collective and I haven't heard a bad thing come out if his mouth other than 'man this sucks, i wish i could play'. Coach Thomas was tied up after the game, obviously but we have three other assistant coaches who were with the team as they were trying to get to the locker room. unfortunately they were walking behind them and from what i saw were only able to get in and try to break everything up. I agree, i hope that lessons are learned.. and i think they are.

By upon himself do you mean taunting from the fans made Andrews take action? i'm not saying taunting directly.. but a student did provoke him otherwise he wouldn't just jump in the stands and fight. like i've said SO many times through out this thing we've lost before in that gym and we've had may student sections right where they were sitting and nothing like this has EVER happened.. so why would he just want to jump in the stands and hit people that night?

  15. Home side of the gym?? it happened in the student section of the visitors!! the visitor student section sits at the end of our home side of the gym..and our student section sits at the end our their side of the gym.. which is why our student sections got moved after this incident to prevent future problems.. it's been this way for years. Not to argue but I find it hard to consider that end of the gym the home side. LCHS cheerleaders on that end and also the visiting players bench is on that end. It would seem to be the visitors end. This obviously doesn't have a thing to do with Andrews and the other players or even the fight but I just don't get "home side". Could someone from SCHS answer the question about Andrews ever being in trouble?? well it's true.. that whole set of bleachers is where our teachers sit and many of the player's parents or grandparents, the student section sits at the end of that set of bleachers.. we've never understood it either but that's how it was, but the new set up is all home side near the home locker rooms and the visitors near visitor locker rooms to prevent less taunting i guess..which is understandable.. it's much like tullahoma's gym set up if you've ever seen it. What about Emmanuel now?
  16. honestly, i didn't even notice the confrontation i was listening to the student section yelling, because i said many many times 'something bad is about to happen' and it did.. the whole event was out of hand and i think that many people felt this way. either way.. i'm ready for decisions to be firm and this to be over.
  17. no, the doorway of the front lobby that i just discussed waiting on the players.. this is how i know that many people from shelbyville were around.. and like i said not to mention that it happened on the home side of the gym. 19. How can you say that Shelbyville wasn't there to witness it. THE GAME WAS AT OUR GYM. and the side that their student section was located is the home side of our gym.. so please tell me how we didn't witness anything and we don't know what happened. Lawrence county's student section is also located right beside the front lobby where our fans stand in that doorway..please tell me..
  20. none of them are suspended from school. emmanuel and qua allen are suspended for the rest of the season.. bobby was told that he was suspended today for the season and then by the end of the day he wasn't anymore, so i don't know how that came about..everyone was and is pretty upset about this all.. i just hope things get straightened out and official decisions are made completely..
  21. All you have in a situation like this are the observations of fans, etc. If a video existed that the TSSAA used, that showed the fight, then I am not aware of it. The only video I have been told about shows the LCHS fans back at the bleachers before anything else happened. I don;t know if the TSSAA was shown that film or any film. You are left with the independent observations that you compare to find common ground. The TSSAA will never tell what that based their decision on, specifically. which is terrible and could, like i said on my last post, almost ruin someone's season because of accusations. Bobby Wilson was wrongly accused of punching a student and was suspended for half the day until they were corrected.. i just don't think it's fair. and common ground isn't fair either.. because a whole group of people who were planning to report to tssaa could have shared their story to say the same thing.. which is that our players jumped in the stands... when our side would of said otherwise.. it's just not a good thing to have to be ruling on..like you said without film.
  22. along with what i just posted, an accusation was made that bobby wilson hurt someone from the other team and he was suspended for the remainder of the season.. when this was not true.. so he was wrongly accused and suspended for half the day completely ruining many people's day. so accusations and finger pointing doesnt help..it just makes it worse. bobby wilson is no longer suspended.. wrong person.. good job.
  23. i understand, i just feel that if what was presented is just accusations from both sides not a fair punishment was made..i could of made up anything and told tssaa and they could have believed it.. in my eyes it's just not fair.
  24. exactly my point. everyone is hearing lawrence county's side of the story which is that our players just jumped in the stands and started beating people up for no reason.. if they weren't provoked this would have never happened. just like if our player on the court wasn't provoked that would have never happened.. just because it was on the court and this was after the game doesn't mean a thing. this happened on the basketball court on the floor.. no one was even in the stands fighting.. i don't think anyone ever realized that. i just feel like a two game suspension could have been enough..not the whole year.. in fact emmanuels LAST year..
  25. i attend schs and the action to suspend emmanuel did not come from our administration as far as i know, it came from TSSAA. It's been talked about all week and not only are the players upset, students and administration are completely blown away by this decision. Last year there was a 'fight' or confrontation between a lawrence county player and one of our own and that player was sat out for two games and allowed to return..i feel like because it was looked at as a 'brawl' because so many people were around it was different in their eyes.. but a fight is a fight and i don't think emmanuel or any of our players should have to be suspended for the rest of the season. from what i've heard lawrence county's students weren't punished at all..i may be wrong..but i feel like something should of been done.. whether they started it or not they were still involved.
