  1. Had a great time at the St. Patty's day tournament.... Wish I could have seen a championship game.... Somebody pulled the same stunt they did last year with the district championship..... hope to see some good games this week if the weather will permit.....
  2. Well, I did not think I would ever admit this but I believe you are right. They will not beat SH, from what I can tell. I thought SH would have no pitching this season, looks as if I am wrong. I do not believe they can hit as well as they have in the past. I now think they will finish second behind MC. I would like to know more about this pitcher with the no-hitter, did he just transfer in or has he been flying under the radar? Willie, does your kid continue to play at SH or did he graduate?
  3. Predictions for week one: MC vs Page: MC sweep Lewis vs Giles: Split SH vs Fairview: Split East vs Hickman: Sweep East I have not had the opportunity to get around the ball fields to see these guys play, but from what I hear MC is back on their game. They had a down year last year and gave teams like SH and Page an opportunity to advance into the playoffs. A strong onpening day performance from Chapman last night shows that they are ready to district champs in 2010. Did not know what to expect from Lewis County this season, but after the contest last evening, I would say they could fight for that 3 spot with SH (remember they split two seasons ago). They are led by the great bat of Ammons, watch out for these guys they are going to make some people sad. I really thought Giles would be stronger. Spring Hill is down, lost all arms and from what I hear thier side arm kid has been knocked around in the pre-season. Have no idea who they could possibly be throwing today.... too bad Brannam is gone, he was fun to watch. For the rest, I don't know... Best of luck to you all. GO _ _ _ _ _ _!
  4. #1 Page #2 Giles #3 Tie-Springhill/Marshal County
  5. No doubt that kid is a first class player. This Giles/SH series has been a tough one all year. I thought Giles would take it last night with the left handed kid after #30's 2 errors and SH's inability to score late. If Giles could have taken that game, the Championship would have been between Giles and Page. SH would have hung their heads. Well played game, good luck SH in your upcomming games and in the regional. Goodluck to all the teams. District Playoff Champs......Patriots! They are too rested and have fresh arms for Thursday's game. Who will throw for SH?
  6. Predictions on tonight's winners?
  7. Well thankyou 66. I was complimenting the Raiders of Spring Hill. Like I said, they were not my pick to start the season. Now, on to the District Playoffs. No real tough games of note on opening night except the Giles-Loretto game. If I know Giles, they should pitch thier part-time shortsop/pitcher (right handed) that night (#11). I think he has had some ups and downs, but can throw well enough to get Mustang hitters out. Loretto may place thier ACE on the mound but he's one of those roller coaster guys as well. Tough game....Giles bats are better. Look for Giles to win in 5. I'm not so concerned about the other bracket with Page, Marshall, Lewis, and Hickman. Page and Marshall play for their side's #1 spot. Page wins. Remember last season in the District playoffs? The showdown between Giles and SH? I believe SH had swept them in regular play and then took game one in the playoffs at Page. Their coach had them FIRED UP for that fourth matchup. Bobcats were victorious as SH laid down and went home. If Page was in the same side as those two again this year, I would expect the same outcome. However, SH has had a Suprising Season. Giles will pitch their #1 against SH on Friday or Saturday (whatever days they play) with Giles winning. I don't think Giles will win in game two with SH though. I'm going to try and get around the ballparks this weekend. I hope to see the Giles-SH game but I also want to see Page smack Marshall again at home. Page is on the upswing and plan on going back to the regionals. They will meet SH again for the championship, but dont expect a blowout on SH's part like they saw a few weeks ago at their place. Webb and Gross combine for the win. Now, what was that SH score last night? I heard Lawrence Co. pitched a FRESHMAN and held the "mighty Raiders Offense" to only 3 runs? 24-3...... Reminds me of a song I used to sing in elementary school...... "the wheels on the bus go round and round, round and round, round and....oh no, they are falling off". I hope they bounce back tonight, I sincerely do. Tonight is, from what I hear, is to be special. Take care Raiders, cause when the playoffs get here......IT'S ALL BUSINESS!!!
  8. Well, the Raiders have baffled me this season. I did'nt expect this to happen. Giles and Page looked to be my front runners with Marshall and SH fighting for 3 and 4. Page had fallen off mid way through and Giles had that Gallon Jack scandal in Adamsville. I guess I've got to eat my words from earlier in the season, but the history at SH may prove itself again in the playoffs. Sometimes kids want to be kids and they may decide that going fishing and chasing girls is more important than the playoffs. Giles or Loretto will be the team that sends somebody good home. Marshall will play for Joe. Page....who will show up? If Page is back on page, then watch out! SH....how long before the wheels fall off? Page and SH both have two good arms and would be an interesting game (if they make it to that point). District 10AA..."they play to win the game". WILLIE, who said that? /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
  9. Whatever. What are you, WILLIE'S dad? Who say's I'm "a 50 year old watching the view"? And for my job, what does that have to do with any of this. My job allows me to see a ton of baseball, and no Giles is not my team but I know that they worked hard all summer and fall and winter. Not many teams will get up at 6:30 every morning to take batting practice and work on pitching. They are dedicated to win, just look at their coach. A proven winner. Look at the run they made 2 years ago in the playoffs. But Giles is not my team. I have no dog in the fight. Go Tigers, Go Mustangs, Go Panthers, Go Patriots, Go Bobcats, Go Eagles, Go Bulldogs, and I guess most importantly, GO RAIDERS!
  10. Whatever dude. Your right, I stunk in the Pony Leagues and never made the Varsity Roster. I didnt mean anything by that comment I made, you know so much about SH statistically. Sorry. I wish I could have known what it was like to just sit the bench in a baseball game, wear the uniform, take some grounders. I hope that every team can win, but I know what I see, and I've got my pics.
  11. Well, sometimes the scoreboard don't always tell the whole story. I've been watching high school baseball for a while now. Alot of teams use thier younger kids to gain experience on the mound and I feel that is what alot of teams are doing in these spring training games. I get excited thinking about watching these great matchups in the months to come between Page and Marshall and Giles (my 1,2,3 in district) and watching the progress of East and Hickman in thier building/rebuilding of their programs. I like to get on and read the post on here, I've noticed that alot of people think Spring Hill is all that, but are they? They bragg about beating Dickson County, no doubt an established baseball tradition, but then I hear at work this morning Dickson just played their J.V. the whole time. I look foward to watching the Giles-SH game this week. Adams from Giles dominated SH in the tourny last season and will likely do the same on Monday. They have a young coach who is doing things right to ensure the success of his program. Its tough for a young coach to come into a place where football is king and have immediate success, but he is on his way (with the help of some very talented players). I'm going to call a SWEEP for Giles winning 8-5 on the road and 12-2 at home on Tuesday. Changing gears here. I noticed there are many post about Spring Hill from a couple of people. No doubt Maury county is a large community... but WILLIE, you know alot about Spring Hill. Are you a parent of someone on the team? Is your kid the manager or something? Just asking how you give such detailed information about this team, and yet so little about everyone else?
