  1. One of the states greatest rivalries. Beech has won 6 out of the last 8 meetings. Both have great teams and both must win this game for a comfortable ride into the state playoffs. Hendersonville imo, has the better team this year. But all that matters is how each team comes out to play on Friday. This game will be a defensive clash and the better defense will win this game. Who wins this game and why?

    Hendersonville - 13

    Beech - 7

  2. Gallatin, Beech, and Hendersonville each have a wonderful tradition at their schools. Each are great rivals with one another, and each have great football programs. Can't wait to see how this game ends up, these next 3 weeks will determine which 2 schools out of the 3 will make it to the playoffs(if my knowledge on the new classification is correct). Beech has imho, 3 out of 4 of their toughest opponents coming here in the last 3 weeks(Smyra being the 4th). But nevertheless, they will be prepared for each game.

24 - 21 with Beech coming out on top. Good luck to both teams.

I have to say it.... Go Commandos!

    Hendersonville winning it.

The Hendersonville - Farragut game will be one of the hardest games played by both sides. Whoever wins this game I think will win the championship. I have my faith in Hendersonville as they have been playing hard and great in the recent games I have seen. Go Commandos.

  4. Yup Zach Gutzman from Hendersonville, only a Sophomore. He is one of the best keepers I have ever seen in clutch situations. It's rare to see him get scored on. Great goalie with a big future ahead of him.

  5. i also have much respect for the green wave. also agree with good players returning and untested players that will contribute. i hope this game will be for the district title and hopefully both make the playoffs

good luck to both teams this year

I'm hardcore Hendersonville, but I would have to say that this season, like last season, will be a very competitive season. The Hendersonville - Gallatin game will be the best game this season I think. I cannot wait for this game.

  6. Why don't you go back to the football section and play with all the other "little boys" who can no longer walk straight from all their injuries (or their beer gut), or talk straight from all the head injuries and relive your glory days. If you weren't in the band, don't bother those who were. It's just jealousy that brings you to this forum.

Jealousy of being in band? I'm proud that I played football. It taught me life lessons that I wont learn anywhere else. I don't have injuries or a beer gut. I'm 26 and work out regularly. I am in better shape than I ever was in high school. Don't insult football. My kids are going to play a sport called football, not a HOBBY called band.

  7. Final Score:

    Hendersonville 4

    Station Camp 1

    Shots on Goal:

    Hendersonville 12

    Station Camp 10

The better team won, no doubt about it, but the final score is misleading. The referee was absolutly horrible. Two PK's for HHS (one was probably deserved, one was pathetic), we had a guy tackled from behind in the box with the referee right there and he did nothing. If he cashes his game check, he is a thief.

Once again, Hendersonville was the better team tonight and they definitly deserve the victory, but if there had been an average referee the final would have been 3-2. In the long run it doesn't matter, but when it is the first time you have played your biggest rival in 5 years, it matters.

Lets not play the "blame the ref" game. I was at the game as a mutual fan. The ref made obvious calls and made no big mistakes. Hendersonville just played a good game and controlled the game from the start. Station Camp couldn't handle Hendersonville's talent.

  8. And yet, now that I've been out of high school for many years, the guys I went to school with sit around and relive their "glory days" of when they played football (but now can't run 10 feet without being out of breath), and I can still play an instrument as well, if not better, than I could in high school. And before you berate me for being a sissy and not playing football, I'm female, so don't go there. I still have killer calf muscles from marching all those years ago and taking care of myself now. Yes, marching band is a sport. Period.

Like I said, It's a hobby. All you did was provide game music for the student section. If you look in any yearbook, Marching Band is not in the "Sports Team" section. And yes, it is also not on ESPN. Which doesn't make it a sport. Your stupidity is simply laughable at best. BAND IS NOT A SPORT.

  9. Maybe some marching bands have less disciplin than I did, but at Brentwood High School Mr. Box always had us moving. We were always running to where we needed to be, and did well over 100 push-ups a day, no joke just watch one day of band camp. Back in the 2002 marching season I know for a fact that we put in more time practicing than the football team, you know how I know it... our practice feild was right next to the football team. As I recall their coach (Jack Daniels) commented one day, "Wow the band always stays longer than the football team!" Not only does the band play at half time on Friday nights, they also have competitions on Saturdays... ALL DAY! Football is a sport, but why is it concidered a sport? Because of the competitive nature of it? Well if you google marching bands, check out the Contest of Champions, or even the summer Marching Core pages you will see how competitive it is. I know I could never play football, but I would like to see some football players try and survive a Brentwood High School Band Camp, it starts at 8am and goes well into 9pm for a week! The last thing, what is the definition of the word sport? It is an athletic activity requiring skill or physical prowess and often of a competitive nature, as racing, baseball, tennis, golf, wrestling, boxing, hunting, fishing, etc. OK, if fishing and hunting are concidered a sport, then marching band is most deffinately a sport!

That was a whole bunch of garbage. You make yourself look stupid by saying. "I know I could never play football." If you know you can't play football, then don't insult it. You have no clue what football players go through during the spring and summer do you? Put on pads and go to spring practice, I'll be laughing when your getting beat up by every single hitting drill. And during the summer, try waking up at around 5 or 6 in the morning, and running 400's till you puke. I'm sure most every single football player will just laugh and be bored during "band camp." Marching Band is not a sport. It is a hobby, nothing else.
