  1. I'm not 100% sure on this, but am fairly certain that ECS will be moving to DII small in baseball. I believe they already play there in football. I will see if I can find confirmation of this on TSSAA's website. So they are not making the switch from DII to DI, just classification of DII.

On an unrelated note, I also believe USJ is moving to DII small in the fall 09 school year, but this is another thing I am going to have to look into. Anyone else know if this is true or not?

USJ is moving to DII small in fall of 09

  2. its bull if you believe OC has class...there are respectable players on the team..but then you have ones who show no respect to the game by targeting players between innings...thats where OC was classless...supporting and yelling for your own players is fine with me but when you start pulling some of that crap OC did between innings taunting players then you show no respect to the game at all...sorry to the few respectable players on OC who are getting a bad rep from these classless rebels in the dugout....by way that wasnt right either for the parent to go over to the other side they should just stay out of it

  3. What??™s up with these teams that do all the yelling like in girl??™s softball? I know of two teams in District 4, Oneida and Sunbright that are bad for this. I know that this is baseball guys and you don??™t hear this at the MLB games or even at the college level.

i aint for all the chants and uniformed cheers but clapping and yelling for your teammates is fine by me

  4. In a what?? PRESEASON game. Those matter just as much as a scrimmage. Westview beat a good Camden team 4-3 yesterday. On another note, Westview's Katelyn Bowen, a freshman, broke her leg in the game yesterday. Keep her in your thoughts and prayers. If I remember correctly, I think she played basketball too. She was going after a foul ball and hit the fence and her cleat got stuck and she fell forward and broke her leg.

that shows another thing the lady chargers have...heart...the coach went out there after she hit the fence and i believe she said sorry coach i was just trying to make up for striking out...thats heart...and heart and talent takes you far...westview is my pick to win district

  5. WOW! So the word is last night at Loudon, CAK is up 20 to 2 going into the top of the 5th and they still had all their starters in the game! Klinsky and Fromke hit 2 homeruns to make an even closer ball game at 22 to 2..

Question !! Why in the heck are Kilinsky and Fromke still in the game? Loudon had already pulled their starters and a Freshmen pitcher was on the mound. Go ahead and PAD THE STATS BOYS..

I promise the Irish will not be so nice!!!!!!

P.S. If I am wrong please correct me....but I think I am on point.

your on point...no need to keep them in when your up by that much

  6. The girl who plays shortstop at Ripley is Mercedes Norfolk. She is an awesome player! Her older

brother, Khayyan, is playing baseball his second year at Jackson State Community College and has signed to play

for the VOLS next year. Both are excellent players!!

Westview has two great pitchers....and sam giesler(sp)is a great player

  7. I heard that was a good team also. Sounds like there is a lot of good young talent in wt. tn

i think they were going to play a pick up game against them at one point but never got around to it...they won AA state two years ago but decided not to play in it this past summer...there is a lot of talent in this area

  8. Dyer Co.'s freshmen played usssa majors in memphis all summer . their team name was wt. tn STIXX. they won the usssa 3A state championship. what was the travel team the westview freshman were on ?

three or four of them played on the west tn hawks

  9. Understand, I hate that DC has two very good freshman who are tough and will be tough. As for Westview, they need to do more than win 2 district games before I start thinking of the Chargers as a juggernaut in baseball. Their field doesn't even have bullpens.

That just shows how little you know....they do indeed have bullpens this year...and there are several promising freshman in this class.

  10. westview beat milan 15-14 in extra innings . awesome game.milan can rip the ball

westview over milan 4-2...good pitching by milan but westview made adjustments...solid defense as well by westview

  11. Dont they still have hyntae (Westview) their really good keeper? As I said on the northside thread....I think jcs is running under the radar. I've never known Westview to have that much of an off season. maybe jcs does have something

yes westview returns a good keeper and a pretty solid defense in blake hooten and jake hart...westview lost their first game to henry county score was 2-1 westview keeper made some good saves and chargers showed heart in second half....pretty solid game against a solid team

  12. How are teams in A/AA doing this year???

    Lexington?

    Dyer co.?

    North side?

    Madison?

    JCS?

    USJ?

I saw that Lexington beat Dyer co. 10-2.... Is lexington a good team or is Dyer co. not that strong??? /ohmy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":o" border="0" alt="ohmy.gif" />

dont forget westview is still a threat as well...they lost some talent last year but still have a strong senior class..they manage to find a way every year to be a challenge... dont count them out

  13. i think the kids name was Deardon..? started the game. Not sure if that is right though. Then a side arm slinger came in for the last inning. Didn't catch his name. Tell ya what tho, that catcher, Evans is it?..he is a hoss, sweet bat, good D, nice looking player there.

if its who it was last year its matt battey(spell on last name) he is a pretty solid player

  14. While I am sure Gleason is better than in the past Monday had to do with one player - the pitcher. When you have someone like him on the mound you don't need much defense. While the starter was pitching I guessing he was striking out 70% of our guys so they didn't have to play a lot of defense. I don't know the name of the kid but he really did throw a good game until he got tired in the 6th.

Craig did throw a very good game for the first time out. Wish he wouldn't have had to throw as many pitches but he is used to carrying a pretty heavy load. He kept most everyone off balance with their only run coming off a leadoff walk, a couple of past balls and then a flare down the right field line.

who did dresden throw against yal?

  15. Yea - doesn't exactly strike fear in you does it? But the bats were cold and still won. That is the biggest thing. Got a little hotter today in Dresden - won 13-1. Again, not a bigtime opponent but a solid win. As long as they keep learning to play as a team and work together is the big thing. Trenton this Thursday afternoon.

Who pitched against Gleason and Dresden?
