  1. Oliver Springs may have been looking ahead, but I doubt that Coalfield was. Coalfields staff tried to schedule a patsy in Tellico Plains & oops their not a patsy this year. Coalfield got what they deserved & were taken to the woodshed by da Bears. Maybe the same thing happened to OZ tryin to schedule every powder puff team in the state. Either way I think OZ will dominate Coalfield (who is a perinial powerhouse in powder puff football) 28-6.

not a fan of either team but you need to think about your post. first of all coalfield has scheduled up in every nondistrict game except for harriman who has already beat your dogs. bleadsoe 20 coalfield 13 bleadsoe 28 midway 13 , midway 14 wartburg 0. and i hear that tellico plains is better than bleadsoe. so if you cant beat midway(single A) i doubt you can hang with either one of these AA teams. that brings me to the point of wartburg scheduling down in every district game except for rockwood. so you tell me who has the patsy schedule.

  2. i will agree that coalfield might be a little outmanned in the boro becase they have played great ball through the postseason without the talent that they are used to. but those players at coalfield have played with there backs against the wall all season and seem to always find a way to get it done. as far as hits go i think ng had 1 more hit than coalfield did. ng also had an extra at bat also. its also hard to hit when you dont get strikes to hit. i would also say that it was probably coalfields worst played game of the postseason. i may be wrong but i think ng had 1 earned run. anyway ng had a great year should be somthing to build on.

  3. no mouth running from coalfield. it happened just like coalfield planned it. the first base ump was the coalfield coaches brother. the second base umpire was a brotherinlaw of the assistant coach. and the ump behind the plate was saved from drowning by coalfields pitcher about a year ago. oh yeh coalfields players and fans brainwashed the pitcher into lowering his shoulder on the first baseman from coalfield while he was camped out under a fly ball. and the umpires called tssaa and made up the ejection rule and had it passed right after the play just so coalfield could win. while were at it we should go ahead and blame coalfields mound for getting into the pitchers head aswell because thats all he complained about the firts 3 innings of the game.

  4. No disgrace in that? Absolutely not!! Coalfield has held their own over that run through hardwork. It is hard work to hit the recruiting trail. Long hours on the roads of Anderson, Roane and Bledsoe Counties, not to mention the ones they get from Morgan County as well.

do you need some tissue paper?

  5. theres a few parks in the district that i am from also that has lights "blinders" but they are not very safe to play under. but if you do have good lights you should use them. i love night games.

  6. Well.........there is another way to look at it. If high school coaches would play their games in the evening rather than in the afternoon, they'd have a larger pool of umpires to draw from and they'd make more money. Play it like football and basketball do at a time more convenient for everyone.

thats a great idea except for one thing: every ballpark in tn would have to have lights and most baseball programs cant afford them.

  7. until umpires are paid enough to make a living at it you will get what you get. and umps will never get paid that much becuase you need to many of them. i guess what i am saying is be happy with what you have.

  8. lets see 7-1 record 3 no-hitters by three different pitchers and a couple of 1 or 2 hit games. yep i would definetly fire the pitching coach. probably have the lowest era in the region. this info is not fact but pretty accurate. well sparky i guess there not perfect afterall. if i were you i would contact coach wilson and see if he could afford your services and insight.

  9. hey fastball i know everyone should take your info to the bank especially since it came from a relative of a relative of a relative that works there and probably wouldn't know what color a baseball is. or you yourself or your distant relative couldn't handle the heat of the coach. i would guess that is your problem because everything that i have heard or read desribes coalfield doing a pretty good job under his leadership.

  10. I would think Wartburg would have to be the front runner until somebody in the district knocks them off. But i do agree that coalfield is playing pretty good baseball right now without hitting the ball to their full potential. Harriman is above everyone in their district right now but rockwood could improve by the end of the year.
