  1. Chilhowie High School, VA is looking to fill a date due to a last minute tournament cancel. We are a small VA 1A school. We will field a full team. Last year we finished 6th 1A with six All-State wrestlers. Our dual record last season was 22-10. We return all starters We do travel. Currently we wrestle in SC, TN, NC. Tournament can be either dual or Individual. Dates we have available are Dec. 3, Dec 16-23 and Jan 7. Please email me if you have an opening.   2. Coaches, Chilhowie High school in Chilhowie VA has 2 spots open in the Warrior Pride Dual Team Tournament held December 10th. Chilhowie High School is located just off of exit 35 I-81 roughly 45 minutes from Bristol TN. We are a small high school with a great wrestling tradition. The tournament is well run using 4 mats, over by 5pm, great hospitality room and solid teams committed. If you are a small school, then this is a great tournament for you to attend. Very Interested In TN Teams Marion High School along with the Town of Marion would like to formally invite your varsity team to be a part of the Second Annual McDonald’s Marion Brutal Clash, a two day dual tournament. To keep our tournament fresh and new we looked to replace up to eight teams every two years. This is the replacement year and we have already filled two spots, one team from NC and the other from PA. This tournament is designed to provide outstanding dual matches, equal competition, and an exciting format. It is our hope that you will decide to be a part of what is becoming one of the elite Virginia Tournaments. Format of Tournament The format is based on dual matches set into pool play each day of the tournament. On day one, teams will be placed into six pools of four teams each. Day one pools are determined by pool seeding questionnaire sent in by head coach. Pools with four teams in their pool on day one will wrestle each team in their pool plus one bonus match for a total of four matches. At the conclusion of day one teams will be seeded and placed into three divisions, each division is made up of two pools of four teams each. Top eight teams will enter the championship Brutal Division, second eight into the Bruiser Division, and remaining eight into the Hard Knocks Division. The three divisions allows for all teams to be tested yet be competitive in their divisions. All divisions will place teams 1st-8th with each team wrestling a total of five matches on day two. In two days your team will wrestle a total of nine matches against quality teams. Small Entry Fee and each team receives a Hotel/Travel Allowance It has been a goal of our Tournament Board to provide an elite tournament with as little out of pocket expenses for entered teams as possible. The tournament has a small entry fee this year of $100.00 and we do provide each team with five non-smoking double hotel rooms for one night at no charge to your school or team. We do not want teams to be financially burdened to wrestle in this tournament. Once your team is selected and completes/returns VHSL contract your rooms will be reserved in your head coaches/schools names and completely paid in full. Room assignments will be emailed to coach in Mid-September 2010. Any additional rooms needed, you will be responsible for payment. Tournament Selection Process This year we have 6 spots to fill. We are looking for quality programs from VA and various neighboring States. Selection will be determined by committee based on the tournament selection questionnaire that is included in the tournament package. Selection will then be determined by early reply and strength of team. Eighteen teams are currently entered and we will fill the remaining spots no later than April 30, 2010. Early reply is critical for selection so please do not wait. In’s and Out’s of Tournament To make this tournament possible we will be using two gyms (Marion Varsity/Marion Intermediate) and six mats both days. Gyms are located right next to each other with easy access to both. We pride our tournament on staying on or ahead of schedule and being competitor friendly. Weigh-ins will be held each day as quick as possible using six scales. Awards Our awards are top notch! Each team that enters tournament receives custom Brutal Clash medals supplied by Maxwell Medals. In addition to the participation medals, 1st place trophies/medals for winning Day One Pool. Day Two: Custom championship belts to each division winner along with Brutal medals and trophies to 1st-4th place for all three divisions. Championship belts are custom designed and built by Title Boxing and are worthy of First Place Teams! Our Program Since 1964 Marion Wrestling has been a tradition of excellence.
