  1. Henry County fan here, and you are right on that one.

Btw, isn't the east-west all star game mainly for exposure? The offensive lineman mentioned has already committed to Vanderbilt, so he really needs no further individual exposure. The 3 players selected to the all star team from Henry County have yet to commit anywhere, two of whom could use a little exposure. That's what I thought this game was about, although I could be greatly mistaken.

You are right. This is great exposure. I used to HATE the way Coach Clayton scheduled games but I now see that he was trying to get our team exposure and play in big games. It is not his fault that the administration at FHS does not want football to be big like it is in Rutherford County. Enough with the Clayton bashing. ThaChop is only trying to make him look bad. Are you a parent of a senior that did not get to play much????? I bet so.

  2. scuttle butt is that Clayton is done at Franklin and Moreno is done at Hillsboro. Clayton is going to Hillsboro. Not sure who the reunion is with, other than maybe the Hillsboro principal who also came from Williamson.

Crawl back under whatever rock you came out from under. if you are "BackinTN" then go back to where you came from. This is just simply NOT TRUE! Rebels are working hard to beat Indy and you start this rumor. Are you a secret Indy fan that is nervous?

  3. Some interesting things being said about your coach on the Hillsboro thread.

Leave it alone and lets play football. Just rumors and all talk. NOTHING to it at all. This is so stupid to think any different.

Go Rebels. I can't wait til tomorrow night. Going to be a great game and I think the Rebel Offense will show the Indy defense who is boss. Let's go Rebels. Keep your head straight and win the district.

  4. Coach and principal don't get along. He wants to keep coaching, principal doesnt want it to be at FHS anymore. Thats been known for a while. The Hillsboro piece is new, but make sense for a coach that wants to keep coaching.

He is not going anywhere. Principal and him have not gotten along for a long time and he is still our coach. Leave this alone and lets play football.

  5. Hmmmm, isn't Franklin's QB Matt a card-carrying member of the "dandy dozen"? Who is recruiting him? Word on the vine is the Syracuse is making an offer, but I can't find anything backing that statement. Was there an offer, or did it get taken away after that performance last Friday? I'm guessing it's just something that was put out there to keep-up-with-the-Jones' across the road at BGA whose QB signed with Ole Miss.

Yes he is a member of the dandy dozen and yes he is being recruited. Why would an offer be taken away after one bad game. Besides whoever you are, were you at the game? Are you blaming the whole offense mistakes on Matt? Who cares about "across the road"? and from what we watched Matt cant block the guys then throw and then catch the ball. It takes more guys doing good too!

  6. TOUCHDOWN FRANKLIN!!!

My bad! Gettin' ahead of myself.

I believe we will here a lot of that Friday Night. Big Tailgate night when the Cougars come to town!

Now, Taco will get on here after the game and tell us how BIG 6A school beat the little 5A school as that is his ammo now. Oh or he will remind us that we have never won a state championship. Either way it will be fun at Howard Gamble Stadium and the Rebels will DESTROY the cougars.

  7. I think it is a foregone conclusion that FHS wins this one. I just hope you guys, with those two silver balls and 100 years of football experience go easy on poor, little, young, iexperienced Centennial. I wonder why the game is even played. Maybe beating 5A schools will help Franklin build its confidence so maybe they can one day actually win a state championship. Well, not really. You got beat by the only 6A team you have played this year, and they are not considered very good either.

You know mr taco, you were the one that came on here and started all the Centennial is "an up and coming team" crap. Not us! You can bring it but you can't take it at all. Now it is soooooooooo obvious to everyone involved that now you are doing damage control. You know that the Rebels will beat the Cougars once again so you start this 6A 5A stuff. (you are right we have never won a state championship so don't come back screaming that crap either). You chose this fight. If not you would have stayed as an Indy fan (which I find so funny that you just change, but you know so much about the FHS/CHS history) FHS will beat CHS again this year. You might be correct that in years to come CHS will win one of these games. All streaks are made to be broken, but one thing is for sure it won't happen this year.

Now come on here and give me the 0-228 or 0-100 years whichever you want but come this Friday the only thing that will count is this year teams and we know who will win.

  8. good grief

Taco has everyone all torn up. He's an idiot but I like his posts.

I bet you do like his posts chsteamplayer: aka: retiredtothebleachers and as we all know TACO!

Go Rebels. I will tell you right now. Rebels win big next Friday. Hey, Taco it might be best for you not to show up this week it is going to get ugly.

  9. Taco irritates me as well, but you can look at retiredtothebleachers posts and see that he posts almost exclusivly in the private threads.

And he did hand you your backside in your little debate with him.

And I am not Taco either.

And I want Franklin to win against H'ville as well. And they should. The Commandos lost a huge chunk of their state finals team.

    you are taco

  10. The big question for the rebels this year is going to be defense. I think most will agree that things just haven't been the same since Donny Webb left. A lot of the intensity that was there when he was is gone. If they can learn to wrap up and the secondary doesn't let as many big plays happen, I think the rebels will be a dominant team this year. If we see more of the same, the offense is going to have to keep scoring in the 40s and 50s, which they are completely capable of, especially if dropped balls are eliminated a good deal. That defense has several good players that are capable of great things as a unit, it's just a matter of whether or not they push themselves to their full potential. Right now, this team doesn't really look like they want it until the mid to late second half. When they do show that desire, this team is extremely productive. If we can see them show up for the whole ball game, it's going to be quite the task for anyone to beat them.

Well I guess I am not most. Our defense was fine last year and inFACT it was pretty darn good! I think with as many players as we have back that someone needs to get them in the right spot and lets get to playing Rebel Defense.

All I know is your so called "hasn't been the same" has been average at best at his new place. I think I remember a few teams scoring nearly 70 in one game. Get with the team pylon and quit trying to cause problems!

  11. My magic jumping beans have revealed all. CC is done after this season. Hey I am trying to help you out and keep him around. Maybe he will see this and will stay to prove me wrong.

He's let it slip to some on his staff. Sorry guys, the captain is getting off the sinking ship.

Well since you have all this magic, are you also a wizard???? I am tired of this crap! If you are Eubanks then shame on you. There is no reason you should be making statements like this. Coach Clayton is going nowhere. He is the FHS coach and will be next year. He has told many of us that he likes it here and as long as the school will work with him he will stay. I was one that got on him about his scheduling and I have begun to see what he was thinking. I hated that we were going to KY to play games, but he is trying to get us exposure. Now, we are not allowed to go get exposure. I was told that FHS was the team that was suppose to play Saint X this week but they would not allow us to play them. That is how Riverdale got them. At least we get a little exposure this week with the TV game. Coach Clayton is trying his best to show off players to college scouts but some people do not want that to be done.

  12. you would have a clue if you realized that it is not where they play middle school, it is where they end up in high school that matters. The athletes are not ending up at Franklin any more, at least not in the numbers of the past. BGA and BA are getting any of the good Grassland kids. Centennial is getting the vast majority of athletic FSSD kids. FHS is dying on the vine. As I have said many times before, FHS has lost its athletic base. And now word is out that their coach knows it and this is his last season.

I do not believe this at all.

Taco enough. Go to your Centennial/Independence threads and leave us alone until we meet in two weeks. Man, I can't wait for the Rebels to run all over the cougars. TACO, you make me sick.

  13. Believe me, the Franklin team in the second half of that game was no where to be found the first half. I'm betting on nerves hit all the Franklin kids for the first half. You could tell the players were down, the coaches were mad, and the fans were upset throughout the first half. The coaches didn't take the players into the locker room, instead took them to the side of the stadium to talk. Something good must have been said during that talk because the team looked completely different from the start. The defense had a little swagger on the field and the offense finally started making plays. First half Franklin had a hard time running and catching the ball. Hats off to Kuivinen for staying in the game the way he did; he had hit his receivers multiple times in the hands and the kids were dropping the ball, but after the nerves were gone, the receivers started making plays and the running game took off after putting in a sophomore back. Had Franklin played the first half like they did the second half, the game would have been a blowout. Everybody better watch out for this team assuming the second half team shows up week in and week out now.

Agree! But my question is why did we not show up in the first half? Why have we been struggling on offense when we have a QB like we have? The answer is young off. linemen and WR that DROP the ball!!!!!!!!

  14. 0-for a CENTURY for state championships is much more glaring. And one thing that history shows, all schools eventually beat Franklin, and history proves Franklin cant win the big one, never has, and never will. Their shot has passed them by. They couldnt do it when they were the only game in town, they certainly cant do in on the back of Grassland athletes.

Those "Grassland athletes" have been winning a whole lot more games than your Centennial/Independence or whoever you root for next year athletes.

  15. Should be a great game between two good teams. I think the game will be more defensive than most expect, as many early season games are while teams are trying to find their identity offensively. Thus, I have to pick the team with the better, more experienced defense. Franklin wins in both those categories, and will ultimately win their season opener on the road.

    FHS- 17

    SHS- 7

I agree. GO REBELS! Kuiv will throw two TD's tonight and we run another in.

    FHS-21 SHS-7

  16. embarrassed? We will be there on August 19th and we will see.

    Franklin 20 Siegal 7

We are getting our defense guys back this week and the rebels will be ready.

nice to see another rebel fan! I agree with you big time. I do not see the rebels not being ready. Coach Clayton will have the boys ready and ready for a FIGHT! I guess I will go ahead and predict a score.

    FHS 28 Siegal 8

I really see the rebel defense getting after the Siegal offense. Coach Clayton has been getting the boys ready and working to make the offense better by game time. That is called coaching. Do you not think that in the scrimmages that maybe we were working on some things and not worried about the score???? Give me a break!!!!!

Go REBELS. I will be there and I will be loud.

  17. Has anyone else heard that FHS's numbers are really down and that they have pulled freshman to varsity that will see significant playing time?

I have no idea if this is true or not, but have heard about it from two different places.

Our overall numbers are down. Blame that on Williamson County clever "re-zoning".

  18. Above is my first post in this thread...not sure how it is a highjack. It is a simple post with reasonable questions about FRANKLIN. Notice no CHS references. Someone else brought up CHS in a way to attack my post. I responded and defended. Again, not a thread highjack. I rarely post in non CHS threads about CHS. It is almost always someone else that brings up Centennial's history to try to put me in my place. That is someone else's issue and inability to defend their team and respond intelligently to my posts.

I can contribute in any thread I choose, as long as a do it in a "CoachT Acceptable" manner.

If I point out that a 7 on 7 may point weaknesses with FHS, and the weakness may be what FHS was touting as their strength, why does the response have to be to slam CHS?

The answer is simple; fear of the future.

Thank you for this opportunity to take a FHS thread and allow me to speak about CHS.

Any by the way, Independence still has the worst staff in the county and that has nothing to do with Centennial either.

We know one thing for sure, there is no fear for this season at all. Taco go to your CHS/IHS threads and leave us rebels alone until it is time. As you go take this with you; weakness from 7 on 7 was dropped passes. Don't you think that our coaches will be practicing on this??? You will get to see soon enough.

  19. You seem to be really worried about CHS...thats funny. There has been no chirping from Mallory, CHS is only talking about their improvements and excitement. Pretty bush league on your part to take it as something else.

0 - and over a CENTURY for a State Championship will do that to you, I guess.

No worries about CHS. none what so ever! I just tired of your smack. I'd say you have a little bush league in you as well. 0-for a Century. That is more bush league than anything I have ever said. Besides I would bet there are alot more teams out there that have not won a state championship then teams that have. I also seem to know a school that is 0 for every try vs. the Rebels and the Bruins. :roflol:

  20. This is true, however when Centennial's "Freshmen" team played Franklin and Brentwood's Freshmen teams, they also played a handful of Sophomores, and 1-2 juniors...And For Frankllin it was the first High School Football game they had ever played...

While the rest of their schedule shows promise for them to win games, it is extremely Unlikely they will manage to beat, or even come close to beating, either Franklin OR Brentwood.

Masheen you are right on. CHS will not even come close to beating Franklin or Brentood.
