  1. I heard from two reliable sources that Kevin Dyson from Independence will be an Asistant Principal and AD at Stewart's Creek starting Jan. 4. They will probably start hiring coaches soon after.
  2. Family does come first. I know he has one child that is very small and another that played for him this past spring. I'm happy to see that he is staying as boy's coach.
  3. I heard through the grapevine while attending the club tournament in Murfreesboro this weedend that Coach Arman has stepped down as girl's coach, but will remain the boy's coach. Can anyone out there confirm this?
  4. Stalemate I don't know what game you were watching if you say Columbia had more possession and opportunities than Siegel. The only thing that saved at least three goals was the play of your keeper. I'm not going to bring up officiating, you have to deal with that reguardless of who you play or where you play. Columbia tries too much for the long ball and flick. The only player who did not give the ball away when pressured on a regular basis was the little center mid, #23 I think. I do think Riverdale wins, but it will be a tight game. Columbia is tough defensivelyand their scheme works for them. 2-1 maybe even in overtime.
  5. At least Shelton's team made it to the regional and if I'm not mistaken went from a 3 win team last season to an 11 win team this year. As far as overlooking Columbia, one of Siegel's parents told me this morning that the coaches gave the players a front and back scouting report on Columbia. The entire focus at practice on Monday was on Columbia. Columbia executed last night, Siegel didn't. That happens in every sport at every level. If they played again tonight the result might be different, but there aren't any do-overs. Honestly, very few people would have thought Blackman would have lost to Cookeville 3-0. This is why you play the game. Were they looking ahead to Riverdale? Maybe, but keep in mind Siegel's boys have never been in that position in the post-season. Hopefully they learn from it and will make it back next year in what promises to be a great district. Great season Siegel, best of luck to Riverdale in the finals and sectionals. I know that you will represent the district well.
  6. It was. Siegel a little short-handed in this one. No head coach(sick), started the game down one starter, another starter didn't return after halftime( was told he was sick). They came out flat, missed a ton of breakaways not a good night. Smyrna's final goal came on a deflected free kick in stoppage time, so the final is a little deceiving, but Smyrna played their game, offsides trap, pack it in with the lead, well. Siegel didn't.
